I'm actually somewhat surprised that a mainly piano-based song such as Requiem of Sunshine and Rainbows doesn't have sheet music. Would anyone be willing ot take a shot at making one, or even a .midi?

After I stopped being a music student / person with a summer vacation, I started only doing personal requests from the composers themselves, with access to tracks and/or MIDI sequences (whichever is applicable). Because doing it by ear is hella awk, and I’m very often not sure what instruments people want things for, and so forth. Accurate arrangements, interpretive arrangements, solo piano arrangements, yadda yadda.
Not exactly a thing I advertised before now, which is why there’s been absolutely nothing from my end of late, but I have scientifically determined that now is the least awkward time and way to put this out there.

I'd love to make sheet music but i'm too lazy. Someone should make sheet music for Greenhouse from Vol 5 and Ocean Stars Falling from Vol 8
Currently in the process of writing sheets for the Homestuck theme (the last track on volume 5) since the link to the existing sheets doesn't seem to work. The only thing holding me up is the little sixteenth-note arpeggios. Those are really difficult to transcribe by ear, but once I get that accomplished, I'll have something I can upload.

Oh, I also have a tumblr. This would be it.
And while I'm at it, my youtube channel.
Could anyone recommend some relatively easy sheet music for piano? I'm not very advanced at piano yet, i have only been learning for six months, and i would love to find something homestuck related i can play
will draw for hugs
To whoever requested the piano arrangements for Time on my Side and Infinity Mechanism, I haven't forgotten about you! It's just that school happened, but it's finally out and I have some free time, so I can finally work on the arrangements. Also, it's pretty hard figuring out how to get them onto piano. Time on my Side seems like it doesn't have enough to transcribe onto piano; much of it is percussion based. On the other hand, Infinity Mechanism has so many things going on that I'm having trouble deciding which parts to include and which to leave out.
Most importantly, they are in the works and I haven't forgotten! (If anybody could provide suggestions for how to arrange these, they would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you want to take a shot at arranging it, there are scores and midis in the index.)
Yes, it’s been said many times before that nobody remembers the viola, even in this thread with all its violists
(my brother is a violist, therefore I have armed myself with a litany of horrible and mean jokes that aren’t about trumpet or piano)
@Purple:
Most of the percussive elements you can’t avoid (like the record scratches) can be tolerably simulated by assigning notes where they weren’t before. How dissonant to make these notes is a matter of discretion. You might try some stupid hard clusters, or even go with pure octaves that are in key.
My personal approach would be to bring more subtle elements to the forefront and use more pianistic techniques than a true adaptation would (a lot like, to give a very specific example, the Piano Collections FFVII version of “Those Who Fight” uses dissonant chords to simulate the impact of the staccato synth at the beginning of the original piece, then it goes wayyyy off to do its own thing).

That’s where on most other instruments they would just use ottava notation or switch clefs if it came down to it. Patently ridiculous for the purposes of the viola, but that’s what G and F get for being all about marginalizing middle C.
I am of the opinion that nobody should wimp out when it comes time to learn transposition or clefs or notation in general, lest the exam you must pass to enter the afterlife involve a Palestrina motet in the author’s hand....
(Still... don’t be rude, Toho.)

Problem Sleuth plays piano?
I have some arrangements of various songs for string ensembles (from violin duet/trio to string quartet, mostly), if anyone wants them
When I download Alternia in MIDI it wont play on Synthesia....?
Heh. I tried running that midi of Rex Duodecim Angelus through gashisoft.
The result is pretty good!

....okay, doing it by ear isn't working. Anyone know where I can find a midi of the song "Homestuck" (final track on volume 5) or anyone who could help with one last part of making sheet music for it? There's that arpeggiated harp part that I just can't pick out by ear. Everything I else I managed to transcribe by ear, though.

Yeah, that sounds right when I plug it into the rest of the piece. I just need to figure out what the rest of the harp part sounds like so I can weave it through the whole piece (since that's what makes up the majority of the left hand part), but knowing that this is the basic pattern helps. I think I just need to pay attention to the chords and figure it out from there... I just wish I could slow the piece down enough to isolate the individual notes.
Also, as a question to everyone who posts sheet music, I've noticed that you typically post sheet music as pdfs or image files. I compose my sheet music in finale notepad. How do I make my sheet music into a pdf or something along those lines?
