You find yourselves in a large, cold room. The lights are flickering unpleasantly.
01: Teleporter Arrival Bay (facing SOUTH)

You are standing on five TELEPORTATION PADS which project from the floor like stubby pedestals. Behind you against the wall is a pedestal with a GREEN BUTTON. On a table in front of you rests a GOODIE BAG. A hallway continues to the SOUTH.

OMNISCIENT OBSERVER: This looks like awesome =D

OMNISCIENT OBSERVER II: Agreed, I shall be watching this intently. Now, will you pass the popcorn?

OMNISCIENT OBSERVER FOUR IS MISSING IN ACTION.

Professor Jonathan Roark carefully drives off of the teleportation pedestal, an adventure in itself, and eyes the surroundings, muttering to his allies. "I do fear our friend has gone a bit more mad than previously suspected..."

He then shudders, as if a thousand eyes gazed down upon him intently.

Usine pulls himself up onto the dais and peers into the goodie bag. He's pretty certain that a doctor of dental surgery wouldn't have put anything good in it.

Baron von Laine follows his brother, saying something condescending about how Dr. Slimes couldn't even afford proper lights, what with all the flickering.

Lamian moves to examine this strange perambulating plant creature, but decides to simply look over it into the bag as well, keeping a paranoid distance away, having a severe mistrust of seemingly harmless gifts.

Inside the goodie bag you find:

One (1) Audio GUIDE, one (1) two-dimensional HOLOMAP, one (1) GEIGER COUNTER, one (1) RED HERRING, and one (1) piece of delicious CANDY.

Jonathan Roark is fairly certain that Baron von Laine, the Bare Baron of the Unbearable Barren Northern Barony Containing Bears, is upset about something, as he failed to make mention of his full title as has become customary ever since becoming the Bare Baron of the Unbearable Barren Northern Barony Containing Bears. He tries not to look overly concerned about this telltale slip in character, and instead eyes the green button on the wall behind them.

Usine places the bad in his pot and slither/waddles towards the flashing door. His lilting hiss of a voice murmurs "I'm going to invariably find this door locked, but it can't hurt to check."

Lamian sees nothing particularly of interest to him in the bag, and slithers back a bit to get a view of the signs on the wall opposite the flashing neon one.

Professor Roark looks nervously over his shoulder. He is familiar with this feeling, the indescribable discomfort of being observed omnisciently. He feels around in the compartment of his mechanized wheelchair to ensure his novelty plastic eyeball is still safe.

The GREEN BUTTON is on a PODIUM. A YELLOW SIGN adorns the PODIUM, bearing an illustration of the audio GUIDE, as well as a strange alien symbol. An enormous VIEWPORT looks out upon a magnificent view of outer space.

Usine places the bad in his pot and slither/waddles towards the flashing door. His lilting hiss of a voice murmurs "I'm going to invariably find this door locked, but it can't hurt to check."

Usine selfishly keeps the five goodies for himself and heads to the flashing purplish door on the WEST side of the hallway.



The flashing door is not so much locked as blocked by one of Doctor Slimes' patent-pending one-way energy-field barriers. He's been trying to sell them to schools as great emergency exits, since they are exit-only, but for some reason nobody really wants one installed.

On a totally unrelated note, the GEIGER COUNTER in Usine's possession clicks slightly more rapidly as he approaches the door.

Lamian examines the EAST wall of the hallway.



On the wall is a YELLOW SIGN and a KEYPAD. A raised bit of floor juts out from the wall, forming a TRIANGULAR PAD with a circle in its center.

Usine backs slightly away from the door and pulls the map out of the bag of goodies he selfishly hoarded.

Roark checks his pocket watch. He could have sworn it was mid-day when he stepped on the teleporter. No matter, he knows what time it is. Time to show Doctor Slimes who the real Masters of Evil are. "I say, there seems to be some manner of auditory cue here. Usine, my uprooted ally, could you attempt to synchronize that Electronic Gramophone to this podium?"
