I don't get this. Andrew said their ages were just numbers, they don't always act their age.. because it doesn't matter. It's not important. I personally view them as like 16 or so. The beta version of homestuck didn't work and three days later the kids were 3 years older.. obviously age isn't something to be too concerned with. It's not like the fanart is obscene or anything.. kissing and cuddling aren't really that vulgar in my eyes.

JUST MY 2 CENTS. don't think this really bothers me or take offense or anything, i just find the idea a bit strange.

I'm not sure an entire new thread needs to be created; perhaps something could be worked out where if you're posting such fares that you indicate it as such and spoiler it. I think a whole 1/3rd of the fan-art thread would suddenly be moved here otherwise. I think this thread does serve as a warning that perhaps the shipping/slashing has gotten a bit out of hand? I haven't minded it really too much, but every art of the kids I see I usually up to 18 or so.

Edit: one piece comes up as going too far though; I think we DO need to take into consideration what age is being presented when drawing the kids in certain situations. If it isn't clearly an aged-up kid, then it might go too far.

Look, I don't care if they're "aged-up" or whatever. Any depictions of romantic interactions between the canonically young characters will go here.

I don't mind a break from the shipping stuff for a bit actually. I know this thread is meant to just move things that some might find offensive here and out of the fan-art thread, but I imagine it'll have a deflating influence on said arts production. More bad-ass Grandpa Harley anyone? (well uh, post it in the right thread though).

I don't see issue with moving such things to a separate thread, but I do think that the wording in the OP of this thread is needlessly aggressive and, for lack of a better word, unfriendly.

I don't think there have been a substantial amount of this type of art to justify such a motion. Fanart I see here is way tamer than other subsections of the internet I might name. Plus, content in the main stories (ie Jailbreak) and the porn ads are a lot more disturbing.

But then, this new rule isn't such a big deal. I shall abide by it.

Meh, the first page was bound to be discussion about the thread itself. It's better that it's visible, it should help lower the number of people who complain further down the line (though it won't eliminate that entirely).

I'm so happy this happened. I was tired of, for pages at a time (depending on how the fads went, 60% of the fanart being the characters, "3 years older," awkwardly underdressed, in suggestive poses, or rubbing up against each other. I was looking for a away to ask people to draw more of other stuff for a change, without offending anyone. The art was still great and awesome and all. This is the perfect solution.

I'm pretty sure the shipping, shirtless, and sexycake contingents of fanart will never go wholly without.

But it seems I'd underestimated the extent to which it made some people uncomfortable. Making things decentralized like this is probably a good idea in the long run. It will also slow down the bleedingly-fast pace of fanart thread update, which isn't really a bad idea either.

I'm still a bit sad that it came to this, and that we couldn't (quite) stay some sort of idealized one big happy family.
