    Don't know much about trout, but I found a website that appears to. Personally I like mine grilled with lemon. :/

    While we're on the subject of spoilage, I've still got a bit of kielbasa left over from the other week. The expiration date on it was the 5th of February, so it's only been a few days since it went out of date. Would it still be all right to eat?

    oh my god yes. those kind of doritos are my favorite doritos now. They are infinitely better than regular doritos, and cool ranch does not hold a candle to the awesomeness of sweet chili.

    Has it been kept well refrigerated? I'd say it's fine, since you're going to end up cooking the crap out of it anyways, but my mom would advise to throw it away immediately. If it was in the freezer, it's definitely fine.

    See the bottom of page 88 for my recommendations on lentils. It's the only way I'll tolerate them really.

    As for chips, I've found nothing better than Kettle Brand Krinkle Cut Barbecue Blue. Hell even the name of it sounds regal.

    So the pseudo chinese place at my university sometimes serves general tso's, which is good! But more often, they have general Kaz's, which is so terrible! Its like someone took general tso's and were like "lets add spices to it!" And it is dryer and crunchier.

    Re: The Felt Memorial Food Thread.

    Oh my god you guys. Oh my god. I just made what I think may be the best tuna salad in the history of salads.

    I didn't really measure most things so uh here you go:

    * 1 Package or Can of Tuna, between 7~8oz (I am a dumbass and got light chunk tuna; I am thinking albacore would've been better)
    * A decent amount of mayo, to your liking
    * 1 clove garlic
    * about 3/4 1 small yellow onion, chopped
    * an equivalent amount of celery, chopped
    * A decent amount of finely grated parmesan
    Spices, all to taste (but not too much):
    * yellow curry powder (although I'm going to try it with red)
    * paprika
    * dill weed
    * parsley
    * fresh ground black pepper

    Preparation:
    Mix all of that shit up there together; taste and add stuff as you go.
    Seriously. Whoever thought to put curry powder in tuna salad was a fucking genius. That was such a good sandwich, my GOD.

    Yeah, I kept it well refrigerated but didn't freeze it. I tend to forget about food once it goes in the freezer and don't rediscover it until months and months later. Oh! I have ham in the freezer that needs eating! I'm not even joking, thanks for reminding me.

    Well, I'm not sick yet, so it must not have been that bad. Cheesy rice didn't go as well with it as chicken fajita flavor, I'm sorry to report. Think I might have cooked too much of the water out of this batch, was a little too dry.

    I just devoured a box of candy cigarettes. In retrospect, not the smartest choice I have made today.

    A drier, crunchier version of General Tso's chicken sounds delightful! I like it when my meat puts up a fight. That smooth, medium rare stuff is for people with taste.

    Tuna with garlic is already piquing my interest. I hate how you go to a sandwich place like Subway to get tuna and they ask you if you want mayo... it already HAS mayo in it, oh god.

    Re: The Felt Memorial Food Thread.

    I am now going to post something simple, delicious, inexpensive, and French. It is a soup that is pretty amazing for wintertimes or sicktimes, a very smooth carrot soup. I recommend it to everyone because it is not something you have had before, probably!

    POTAGE DE CRECY
    1.5 lb. carrots peeled sliced thin
    1 potato peeled sliced thin
    1 onion peeled chopped finely
    1 clove garlic crushed
    4 cups chicken stock
    2 tbsp butter
    1/4 cup whipping cream
    pepper
    salt
    paprika
    fresh chopped chives (optional)
    Here's the weird part: get out your food processor/blender/food mill, because you're going to need it!

    Prepare your vegetables and melt the butter in a soup pot. Toss in your carrots, potato, onion, and garlic and cook 5-8 minutes stirring occasionally. Add chicken stock and about 1/4 tsp pepper, bring to boil. Reduce heat to low simmer and cover; cook 30 minutes.

    Remove the soup from heat and, working in small batches, pour reasonable amounts of the soup into your food processor/whatever and puree until smooth, transferring to a spare pot or large bowl when you're done with the batch. The soup should become a sort of medium-thickness orange mush. Then return all your new pureed soup to the original pot. . Add in your whipping cream, salt and pepper to taste, and a good dash of paprika to give it just a little bite. Return pot to heat and warm the soup back up... aaaaand you're done! Garnish with chives if you like to drink tea with your pinky up while wearing two monocles.

    It's okay.

    We understand.

    Duck is delicious.

    --

    You know what else is delicious? Honey-roasted cashews, of which I just ate way too many. This was after having some more of my friggin' awesome tuna salad, which is somehow much better now that it's had a bit of time to sit. ~*~magic~*~
