I made scones for a school project.
The best part of the project is that I got scones at the end.
The i stands for "I'm not going to tell you what the i stands for so suck it"
Also, after googling my username, I feel obligated to point out that it is not a reference to the comic book lady with the big boobs
for some reason i love making soup at night
only at night
What kinds of soup?
Batman-soup?

batman soup doesn't sound very vegetarian
I just had some instant miso soup. Kinda wishing it were instant batman soup, instead.
Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.
I think you might be my older brother in disguise
I woke up one morning and he was already awake, and he told me he couldn't decide between eggs or spaghetti for breakfast, so he printed out this recipe
we made it for dinner later that day and it was delicious
That sounds really, really nice! If I ever find myself in Scandinavia, I'll be sure to pm you. :3
And just to be on-topic, bought the wrong kind of kielbasa without realizing it (the regular instead of turkey kielbasa). It's...not as good as I'd hoped. Why did I even buy kielbasa again for that matter? I went to the store for bread...

Lasagna then no bake cheesecake!
YES
this is why I love V-day/parents' anniversary: Mom makes dad's favorite dinner which is delicious!
I just had the most delicious toast made with ciabatta bread.
I didn't have anything special for Vday, although I DID clean the kitchen (dear LORD it needed it, BADLY) and then to celebrate I made hot-cocoa cake in a mug because I'm lazy.
recipe:
!!!! YESTERDAY I MADE POTSTICKERS
IT WAS FUN (AND TIME CONSUMING)
THE RECIPE WAS FROM GOOD EATS
8 oz (1/2 lb.) ground pork
1 egg
1/4 cup scallions
1/4 cup green bell pepper
2 teaspoons ketchup
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
vegetable oil
chicken broth (can use water)
wonton wrappers
chop and mix everything (except for the vegetable oil and chicken broth) up. wet the edges of wonton wrappers with either water or egg wash, spoon some of the mixture into the center of the wrapper (not too much!) and then fold however you like; just make sure none of the filling can spill out. Once you've got a bunch, heat up a pan with some oil, then throw the wontons on there (don't literally throw!). Give them a minute or two to brown on one side, then flip them over. After another minute, pour in about a 1/4 cup of broth/water and put the lid on immediately; steam for about two and a half to three minutes. ET VOILA. POTSTICKERS.
Obviously this is not vegetarian. Sorry Spook.![]()
awww no need to apologize
i should post a good vegetarian recipe when i don't feel like being a useless piece of shit all day
There was pumpkin soup today at the Au Bon Pain I always get lunch at when I work at the bookstore.
Fuuuuck, I love pumpkin soup, and anything else involving winter squash. I need to learn how to make it. Also how to cope with the fact that they won't be in season again for like six months.
What's awesome to eat that'll be in season soon?
Zuki says:
"I'll find something to put here later!"
Aww, man. That made me think of pumpkin cheesecake, which is positively delectable.
Yesterday night I had pancakes! They didn't have money in them, but it was still a great Pancake Tuesday supper.
I actually recently got a cookbook with a bunch of recipes for seasonal fruits and veggies. Looks like fava beans, English peas, snow peas, sugar snap peas, pea shoots, broccoli, delicate lettuces, arugula, spinach, chicories, waxy potatoes, new potatoes, carrots, parsnips, celery root, radishes, squash blossoms, asparagus, sweet onions, green garlic, leeks, green onions, avocados, mushrooms, artichokes, strawberries, fraises des bois, blackberries, raspberries, lemons, Meyer lemons, oranges, blood oranges, tangerines, mandarins, cherries, rhubarb, and grapes are all coming up in the spring.
Guys! I think we need to talk about food more. Just like in a general sense.
So I was wondering: what food blogs do you visit? What other sites? Are there any?
For me, I've enjoyed A Couple Cooks pretty immensely since finding their tomato sauce recipe. There was a link in the A.V. Club TV Club blog today to Macheesmo, which, after perusing, is definitely bookmarked for me now. Finally, I don't think a day goes by that I don't check Food Porn Daily (SFW). So... tempting. I'm probably going to be buying the Food Porn Daily cookbook soon, almost solely because of the pictures.
I have a bookmark folder called "food blogs" but it actually just holds random recipes that I'd stumbled and want to try, or something.
Contents:
Actually that last one was linked in this thread so I don't take credit for stumbling it I found it in here and have yet to try it.
In other news, I had waffles this morning. They were meh :/
Also, I have 3 different waffle irons. What is wrong with me.
We have two in my home: a normal square making one and one that makes like, 5 small heart shaped waffles at once. Both are awesome. Waffles > Pancakes
WHOA WHOA WHOA
Heart shaped?
I might just have to go buy that one.
Novelty waffles are the best.
The waffle iron I use the most is a bigass one that you usually only find in restaurants and hotel buffets and things. It's so big it's not like I really had any choice other than using it because it's impossible to put away somewhere :O
Fuck yeah!
The indentions for syrup on them are tiny though. > :/
I'm not sure where we got it, mom's had it since I was a kid..
But oh man.Put some strawberries on heart-shaped waffles?Cutest breakfast oh my god.
oh man fettucine alfredo. It's something i only eat VERY RARELY nowadays but it is so good, it is possibly one of my favorite things of all time (and it's an incredibly easy-to-make sauce, too. Just mix butter, parmigiana reggiano, and heavy/whipping cream in a sauce pan).
The things that comfort me the most are probably heavy dishes like that. I like southern food sort of, but I grew up in the midwest, so I lean towards, like, burgers. A big juicy burger. And mac and cheese. Really anything with cheese.Cheese. (sorry lactose-intolerant people)
