Or for a serious...ish thing, Arcana, Jeffery's lance, GOGOGO.

The question is weather youu prefer a dialogue like "Sonnet, I think the only solution is to go on a lesbain romp dear, it's for the best." Or "Sonnet: Go on lesbain romp."

>You didn't answer my questions Sonnet
She supposes it's a bit redundant to refer to her specifically since she's pretty sure she's the only one who you all can talk to but doesn't really mind either way.
=>Arcana, Jeffery's lance, GOGOGO.
She wouldn't want to take his big long um... thing from him since it's much too large for her to use, even if she had her arms back.

>Can you hack the door, or perhaps shoot it with Sergeant Badass?

>link with the door through the keyhole or an imperfection in the wood. ask it why it wont open, and if it is merely locked, ask what it would take to get it to unlock itself.
Gentle negotiations it is.
There isn't really a keyhole but maybe it'll just...

The nib sinks through the handle's surface without any interference and plugs into place. Thankfully Sonnet doesn't need to pay attention to silly things like plug compatibility when she has a magic cable.
=>
A bit of data is sent and recieved, some handshaking processes are commenced and the door gives way to Sonnet to peek inside and maybe talk to who ever is behind this locking business.
=>
A medium is fabricated before Sonnet's eyes, constructing a location that's simple, yet awe-inspiring in it's imagery. She climbs the stairs at a steady pace, finding it hard to focus on her footing with such a striking gold monolith splitting the soft pink sky. Surely this is an Arcana with much greater influence and a sense of hospitality.

the tall structure has a subtle crack through it, bound together by a serene, regal face, glistening in the light from above. Despite her footsteps tapping against the shimmering floor, he does not open his eyes. This is his domain after all, he knew everything about his visitor's appearance before she even took her first step to his shrine.

Well, you, unlike your subjects (bretherin?), are locked, and it seemed impolite to just bash you down.
Also, we have no key, and you no place to accept one, sooo...
> Why? Maybe you've heard some stories about him? Or did you gain some information because of your magic cable?
> "Could you let me through if you would be so kind?"
>Make sure to compliment him. No one else could grant us passage, not even Jeffery's golden hammer!

>Ask the King about his stories. You know his name, so you have at least heard of him, but you might learn something new!
"like trying to explain the flavour of chocolate to a rock"
Say this: Because your awe inspired me, your beautiful surface. I thought: This, THIS is a door with a STORY! Also, doors as weapons of destruction.

> simply state that you have come to pay your respects to him and ask him if he will aid you in your journey.
"I believe you know best how to placate royalty and if a lie would be better than the truth here."
The only constant is Chaos.

How do I book.
>Politely ask if he could aid in your quest by unlocking himself, if he refuses (or it turns out that he was unlocked all along), ask what you would need to do in order to gain passage to the room he protects.
I really appreciate the participation and discussion that help propel this adventure, a great adventure is nothing without great suggestions. So I've decided to start giving back to the more active readers and those who've just been super cool bros. The only thing of value I can give is my art so hopefully you'll all appreciate being immortalized as my best interpretation of you as an Orator. The obvious place to start is the one poster who's been with the adventure for a while now and has posted a whopping 50 times (Followed only by a reader who's posted 35 times).
Here's to you Asmodemus, keep on postin' like a boss.

I think it's a side effect of big adventures like Cordless not encouraging discussion.
Also, I just realized. Is the King of Doors... a giant door?
That's pretty awesome.
>Sonnet: You seem to be locked, and have no hole for a key. Why is this? What secrets do you hold beyond your boundary?
I wish I was an active enough poster to get myself drawn. I should post in here like I post in NQ2011. I have twice as many posts as the author. :V
+1 Reader, I actually just read through the entire story not to long ago. I stayed up for about 5 hrs past my bedtime just so I could Finish.

+1 semi-lurker
There's... there's no words to describe how much i enjoy this adventure as well as the many others I lurk. The sheer imagery, storytelling, and poetry crafted from your words and pictures is absolutely breathtaking. As with most adventures, the aspects of this one leave me in awe.
>So.... what is it like being the king of doors your majesty?
Maybe life is nothing more than a huge fan fiction. I mean, you're reading this as y'know the reader right? You're imagining my speech, my manners, how i word my everyday exchanges. But what if, that's exactly what it is. No this isn't a GOSHDARN INCEPTION JOKE. It's a legit question.
I think of two reasons why we don't discuss more in this story. One reason might be that we don't want to fill up the thread pages with so much non-story that we only get a few posts from you. Another reason might be that some characters can hear our suggestions, so we are basically immigrants to this world. We don't know anything at all about the world unless a character chooses to divulge something to us, so voicing our speculations might take away from the magic of finding out about this world.
But that's just what I think. For all I know everyone else is just a shy lurker who only posts to make suggestions and doesn't really know how to keep up conversations, like me.
Also, that is a very nice drawing of Orator Asmodeus.
Edit: I thought you were complaining that you weren't getting as many suggestions as you'd hoped. I was wrong, sorry.![]()
