What do you guys think of Nato so far?
it's hard to tell at this point. It'll take some time to develop the character and put his traits into action in relation to what's going on around him. Put simply, we need to see him react to things, and what he does as both a host and a client to establish his personality fully.

I'd wager that the vast majoraty of establishing a character is in the actions of said character. Dialog only goes so far. It has to be backed up by actions to be fully established.

Its up to you how you go about adding some actions to his script. Most of those actions will likely be reactions to the behavior of his host server and what he does in the medium and Derse/Prospit in his dreams.

That reminds me, the orbiting planet UD will be using should be called Derspit...

...or something that implies neutrality or alternation. Neunis?
Eh? Not in that fashion, just how I've drawn in and panned him out as of this point.
What made you think you had to do paragraphs on him like that?
When you ask me "How's this character" and you don't specify what part of the character you're talking about, I'll automatically assume you mean the most important part: How the character acts.

So uhh, I guess you're asking what I think about the character's looks and how well you've set him up thus far with his room and such?

    Pretty much.
But if it'll wind on for very long, don't bother.

Well I've got nothing better to do. And besides, Asking me for opinions on anything will result in longwinded paragraphs of critique. It's inevitable.

    Well then.

    Thank you.

    I suppose.

    Your name is VALANA REGNIG.

For the sake of uniformity, you suddenly and jarringly switch to Present Tense Second Person Perspective.
As a giant meteor looms above your HUMBLE SHACK, you introspectively reminisce on your INTERESTS while standing in your SWEET ROOM. You have an insatiable appetite for VIDEOGAMES, playing any and every game you can find, provided it is INSANELY DIFFICULT. You have a UNIQUE TALENT for FINDING SECRETS, DISCOVERING EXPLOITS and DECIMATING GAME ENGINE PARAMETERS.

You have friends who live on ALTERNIA as well as gaming partners (who are not actually friends) from EARTH. Only one other KID lives on this stinking fishing colony, the MARSH MOON GÚLÚK. He is your BEST FRIEND, known online as hatchlingDeformity and offline as GORZOD TOXPAZ. He's kind of a loser, but he's cool, you guess.

The COLONISTS of GÚLÚK are otherwise EXCLUSIVELY ADULT and it sucks ass being a kid here. All your PA does is FISH. The fact that you know who your biological father is COPS YOU A LOT OF FLACK from the trolls of ALTERNIA. They call you INBRED. But when push comes to shove, it's GAME TIME, and no one gets their game on quite like you do.

You speak in a manner that demandS attentioN anD dealS witH A movtH fvlL oF tvskS

You are currently installing the SBURB BETA.

    Awesome job there Abo!

I'll have my traditionally setup room intro hopefully within the next couple of days. I'm having trouble figuring out where to put furniture and what kind of furniture to put. It could. I've also sorta oversized my room on accident, but it would fit the character anywho, which is loosely based on myself

    Re: TROLLSLUM: A Fantroll Database

I'm rather new here. I made a fantroll. Ergo, here I am.

Your name is JINTE GERIPPE. You live in a WELL SIZED HIVE with your THREE-HEADED FELINE LUSUS. You are not bad at COOKING, and are CRAZY AWESOME on the drums. Despite your appearance, you are NOT FEMALE, nor GOTH. You have an affinity for SWEATSHIRTS WITH HOODS, especially those that ZIP UP IN THE FRONT. You absolutely adore CALCIUM BASED BODILY STRUCTURES, and are a huge fan of the film IN WHICH A MISGUIDED SKELETAL STRUCTURE FEELS DESPAIR, SAID SKELETON FINDS A HOLIDAY CELEBRATING SEASONAL JOY, SKELETON PLANS MISGUIDED TAKE OVER OF EARLIER MENTIONED HOLIDAY, etc. You are rather LAZY, but, thanks to your ABNORMALLY TALL FRAME, you are able to RUN QUITE FAST FOR SHORT PERIODS OF TIME.

Your online handle is damnedChef, and You talk perfectly normally, besides the fact that the sentence tends to loop back to the beginning, you talk perfectly normally. You fight using DRUMSTICKKIND, and you are enamored with SPINNING AND SPIRALING MOVEMENTS.

    My sig-quotes:

Took me about a year to notice the typo. How long did it take you?

    Re: TROLLSLUM: A Fantroll Database

I think Andrew has a different method, but I get that strange look by using Photoshop and going Image > Posterize.
The value will affect how the object is shaded. Two is when it starts getting a bit gross with the MS-DOS colours (though you can combat that by going Image > Hue/Saturation and turning down the satch a little). I tend to go three or four. If it's a very complex picture I'll posterize it as four then again as three, for some reason it handles that better on more heavily shaded objects. Once that's done I go Save For Web and choose Gif or PNG and select a small number of colours, whatever is the minimum I need to get it looking the way I want.

You can preface all of this by using Image > Hue/Saturation, ticking "colorize" and adjusting the sliders until you have a nice colour going, then doing everything else I just said. That will get you something closer to Andrew's pictures.

    Hope this helps!

You know, I've never used posterize. I just draw everything by hand. Of course, I have a tablet so that helps out.

So since our Five person group is established, will we be making a separate thread to host our session later on?

I kinda like the idea of having a seperate thread. It would keep things a little more organized.

And yet, I have a feeling the drawback might be big enough to mess that up a bit. After all, how many people bother going into RP threads they don't participate in?

Then again, it's not like we're doing this for an audience anyway. This is more personal amusement than anything, but I still like the idea of having all the events being easily viewable in a thread that already has an established readership.

Say, who's the leader of our session anyway? SE (PhantomGamer) was the first to get setup with UD (Alfalfa Joe) as the server. Would that make him the leader as far as how this plot goes.

Or is it just kinda free for all that I should talk to everyone in the session about. We really need to figure out a better way to communicate than with this board if we want to get some balls rolling on the overarching plot. Of course, that's not an immediate concern as it stands now, but if we each knew a little more about each other's plans we could make some dang good plot elements aside from the established ones in Homestuck.

Yeah, you guys should keep posting in here, I think. I like seeing other art from other groups. It's what this thread is for.

Also, another five person group! High fives!

Again, I have no idea, and I guess I personally don't really care. The other members of our group seem to have disappeared... And I guess I haven't done much myself recently, either.
But as for the leader, I think it would be a little smarter to wait a short while and see who we think is more leader material. Choosing someone right off the bat could be a bad idea.
Anyway, is a leader really necessary? The Homestuck kids don't seem to have a definite leader, and the Trolls only do because they're on competing teams.

And I think Propriety might be right. Besides, there was another group who created a separate thread long ago and that died out fast.

    HIGH FIVES FOR EVERYBODY

OOPS I FORGOT I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for my exile's little "quirk", like WV being mayor, AR being the law, and PM being mail carrier. I've been having troubles thinking something up, so I figured I'd ask you guys. If you want I guess I could post the picture if you think it'd help.
Maybe I should post it anyway. Oh well.
