So occasionally I come up with ideas for forum adventures, but don't have the time or inclination to do them. When this happens, I'll shove the idea up here and someone else can use it as their own! So if you've got time on your hands but no inspiration, keep checking back here! Here's a couple of ideas to start us off:
Picture the scene; the day has been won, the ancient evil has been sealed away by the guild of wise elders with the help of the ultimate weapon. But now that peace is at hand, you, the last Elder to go to his eternal rest, still has a task to complete. It has been forseen that the Evil will arise again in 100 years time, and a plucky hero will need to find the Ultimate Weapon to defeat him again. But how will the Weapon stay safe all that time? Its time to get DUNGEON BUILDING AND PUZZLE-TRAIL BLAZING.
Also, I had a vague idea about the guy who caught Guy Fawkes (Sir Thomas Knyvet, thanks Wikipedia) is tasked with forever patrolling the cellars of Parliament to protect the world above, and years later his descendants police the entire under-city of London, whose cellars and sewers have been expanded and connected over the years.
Feel free to steal these as your own, or add your own up-for-grabs ideas!
EDIT:
Here's some links to all the adventures (I know of) that have started from this thread! Please PM me if you took an idea from here and don't appear in the following list:

Along with my space-setting forum adventure, I have many PROJECTS and CONTESTS, as viewed below. I like to think of myself as an ideas man, and an inspirator of others.
Mind if I put my ideas up here as well? Also, this might be better in the Meta subforum
<GenTrigger_> So like, I just heard from someone that the avengers was bad because it had multiple climaxes?
<Tam_Lin> Girls have multiple climaxes and they aren't half bad.
<GenTrigger_> But that's not true, I'd say it actually sort of follows the whole monomyth format- Tam time out now.
Feel free to share! This thread's all about sharing!
As for moving to the meta board, you're probably right, but I just don't go there very often and didn't even consider it!

After just hearing the news about a new Thundercats series, my first reaction was AWESOME! My second reaction is that we need to make a forum adventure of the old-style characters battling the new-style characters over who has the best show. Yep.
Also, how do I go about moving this thread to Meta?

Just to help get the ball rolling, after looking at his page on the TF2 wiki for research for my adventure (long story, but in case the need comes up I plan to steal some of the SHTT comic covers for my adventure and repurpose them for a similarily memetic badass character), I believe that someone really needs to make an adventure starring Saxton Hale.
Or might that be too similar to MANLY MAN ADVENTURE GRRRRR?
Ach! Hans, run! It's the lhurgoyf! AVGN Quote of the Moment-I-Have-Time-To-Update-It: "When we heard that a Ghostbusters game for Nintendo was coming out, we were so excited, we shit our pants! Literally, shit came out our asses and we rocketed through the roof! "
May as well leave these here, a list of titles for potential adventures wheeeeeeatthins posted a while back. And yeah I will update WOOP ZOOP just as soon as exams are over, got about half the frames done and everyfink

Dinosaur Soothsayer: Operation Extinction Avoidance!
Dino Soothsayer predicts the end of saurian life in 5 days, tries to survive. Troubles include: No-one believes him, persecution by mammals (all mammals are evil bastards here), silly time traveller, Capt. Brontosaurus planning a military coup in amongst it all.

.. I don't have any ideas. but there are so many times when you say "Holy crap someone has to make that adventure" sounds good to get those ideas archived.

Some sort of silly idea I thought up a while ago...
You got two persons on screen. The author only narrates about what one of them thinks, sees, does etc, while the readers only control the second one. But of course you have to be able to see them both. The catch here is that the one you control is mute or something, so he has to show what he/the readers mean without talking.
And then add in an adventure of some kind to make it more exciting
Dunno if it can really be used in an efficient way though, but hey! An idea's an idea, and it can give birth to new ones
Never say you have to do it.
Instead, say you want to do it.
Okay, ideas I'm too stupid to work out.
I had this one idea...
Someone gets a box which contains the world they live in, and when you for example tilt it the world tilts. Hold it upside-down to reverse gravity, shake with it to get an earthquake.
Imagine the puzzles!
Also, a generic malevolent force is at work to get that box from you.
A plot I toyed with briefly was a stereotypical minion whose equally stereotypically villainous boss just got offed by some hero or other; said minion then has to find a new job and/or try and take over what's left of the villain's lair. Shenanigans ensue.
Or: The protagonist and possibly everyone else in-universe can augment themselves with objects from their surroundings, ranging from tarot cards to feather boas to panzer tanks. The hero, whose heart was replaced by a clock or some other small mechanical thing, has to go and find it after it gets stolen for some mysterious reason.
Or: The protagonist has the ability to forcibly tear other people's memories from their minds; they must use this power to piece together some grand and terrible plot and maybe save something important, like the world or their life or summat. However, for every memory the protagonist takes, one of their own is lost and by the end of the story they are a completely different person.
In the sunken city of R'lyeh, awaiting such time as the stars are ready and I shall awaken.

Re: Adventure Plots Up For Grabs
The character is a robotic entity, booted up in some kind of long-abandoned lab. He (she?) (it?) travels throughout the laboratory complex, attempting to learn more about itself, understand what happened to the lab and the world outside, and ultimately escape...
...or at least that's it's goals at the beginning. As the readers learn more, the goals are certain to change.

This one is not so much an idea as a "magic" system: It's the GURPS classic noun/verb runic system, except that each "rune" is actually some component or piece of machinery. The "Fire" "rune" would be a Thermal Heating Coil, the "Sense/Knowledge/Naming" "rune" would be a Sensor Array...that sort of thing. You'd combine "verb" components like Move or Sense or Transform with "noun" components like Fire or Sound or Data to get "gadgets" that acted like spells.
It'd probably work best in a technological and/or technomancy setting, anywhere from steampunk to hypermodern. It'd probably go good with the adventure idea above.
A small golem, a bit smaller than the average 5 year old, capable of consuming materials that are smaller than it. It incorporates these objects into its form but will not be able to reshape them. Have a fusion pot (From the Hephaestus series) as a component in order to aid in reshaping?

I have one about a robot, but I am planning to do that one myself someday. I do have one up for grabs though...
While during a day that is seemingly just like all other normal days where the Main Protagonist goes out to retrieve water from the well, only to find a gooey and oil-ish small critter down in it, crying for help. The Main Protagonist ends up saving it, and they becomes sweet, sweet friends. Little did the Protagonist know, he/she would be one fantastic plot for something very big!
Also, horrifying nightmare fuel. I will leave it all up to your imagination if you decide to steal this plot.
