Oh, Right, there is something else going on at AnimeSTL other then the schedualed slot, A Can-Town Can Drive.

It is perhaps the first time i heard of something like it happening at a Con... but perhaps we should set an example for further cons for this to be a thing?
ASTL was fun. I'm gonna drop these pictures off here (there are some random non-homestucks there, but it's all good).

Don't be shy to show up next year. I didn't get any pictures from the Panel, but it was mostly them doing an overview of the characters, troll-romance, and about the fandom itself. Cantown was cool. And they spent the better part of sunday cleaning up the chalk from the sidewalk and drawing on the paper roll.
Anyone else going to OtaCon? If so we can have a meet up a guess. Ill be going as Sollux Captor.
Do you mean Otakon? If so, we already have a thread going!

Your name is Lexa. Your chumHandle is blackoutVisionary, and you tend to type in a rather sssslippery and sssssnaky manner.
@myu2k2: Awesome! You caught more of the cosplayers than I did.
at AnimeSTL
I went to the Anime Convention in Collinsville last Saturday; they had a couple of ho-hum anime panels we went to. I think the only big name visitor we had was the Nostalgia Critic. Anyway, then there was the Homestuck Block. Trolls and Kids were at the con all day in full force. The Homestuck Panel was one of the few panels that was entirely full; people were actually standing in the back (but me 'n my friends got there a half hour early so we sat in the second row).
I can't say they explained homestuck very well to the 12 or so people who didn't know what it was, but it was the rowdiest panel I was ever at. People wouldn't shutup so they had to do the shoooosh thing over and over. We had all the main characters present and stood up as cosplayers when introduced except for Tavros and perhaps Eridan, I held up my Tavros doll in place of him (lol). When it came to the Quadrants explanation it got a little awkward because some people volunteered to express what each was, among them two girls who were dressed as John Egbert and Dave Strider who proceeded to make out a little and lick each other's tongues. It was potentially gross on two levels, 15 year old chicks makin' out and the particular shipping. Anyway at the end there was trivia, the prizes being faygo. It was too bad because my friend is a homestuck encyclopedia but they didn't pick her : (
On another note as I'd said there were all kinds of homestuck people milling about at the convention; on the side steps near the parking lot there was a small cement patio type decoration that became the all-day Homestuck hangout, buckets of chalk were laying about and people got to add their drawings to the sidewalk. It was really fun. I added my piece before heading off to the Panel.

Behind the table was probably one of the most awesome Feferi's ever. If I can get my friend's pictures, I can show you all the neat pictures of cosplayers she took as well as the entire chalk mural.

I took a picture as everyone was leaving; it was pretty packed.

thanx. The con itself was kind of "meh"... but rumors being that ASTL had funds taken from their coffers to fund another Con, so couldn't afford any big names to show up (apparently a group of planners broke off from them to start the other Con and took the money with them).
What totally made it worth going was the Homestucks. Last year there where about 6 people, total, going around the con as Homestuck Characters, so it was kind of jarring seeing a whole room of them. I had to sit in the floor behind the projector, even! The little kid next to me was a sweety, he didn't know anything but wanted to answer all the questions. X3
edit...
just noticed that i was in your picture of the crowd.
XD

Hoshiz! That's cool you turned up in the picture ^^
I thought the convention was sorta meh too - but I didn't want to say anything and be rude about it. Homestuck was definitely the best part about it ^^ I thought the panel was good, my most impressed memory. I was being a dork and taking pictures afterwards to remember it. It was the first time I attended ASTL.
That's unfortunate the funders broke off at that point, maybe I'll think about going next year then.
There is a group of Homestucks that brought up something about going to Natsucon in August.... It is at the Gateway Center also, i wouldn't know how diff it would be from ASTL, i haven't been to that one before.
I'm considering going to AnimeNEXT again this year - probably as a whole mess of Johns, pff. Who might I see there? O:
My friends and I are going to a teeny tiny con in northeastern Ohio this weekend - Shinbokucon! We're going as the god tier kids, if anyone is going to be there and wishes to come hang out.
Any Australians in here planning on going to AVCon this year?
We had a few people dressed up last year (myself included, though quite badly), so I was wondering if the numbers were going to increase at all this year.
(I will not be cosplaying Homestucks this year though)
Just got back from ACEN and I took a lot of pics from the Homestuck Photoshoot on saturday. (I'm dressed as Hussie, Sean(Edo Nagori) is John, and Nick(Coloroflull) is Dave)
Here ya go:

Hpboy.... oh... my... glob... i think you found another "LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOMESTUCK." guy in that security guard lurking around the background of those photos.
@myu2k2
Yeah, he was there the whole time, he just stood in the back with that look. 0_0

(Oh dear I look like a mess in those photos. I need a haircut.)

Hoping to go to Comic Con this year with my bro. There, we can bask in Hussie's prescence amongst the sweaty twenty-somethings in Batman costumes and pointy shades. That would be satisfactory.
EDIT: Oh, and this year, it doesn't fall on a birthday of a certain significant other as it did last year! So hurrah to that!
Anyone heard of/going to Dodeca-Con? It's the first con here in Columbia, MO, and it would be cool if other homestuckers were going too, especially in cosplay! Its this weekend, and i think i'll only be going on Saturday, and half of the time i'll be going as Nepeta :3 one of my friends is going to crossplay as Dave, too! The other half of the time i'll be a Curiosity Core gijinka ^ ^;;
it'd be cool if anyone from the forums were going, too c:
I remember asking about whether anyone was going to ColossalCon in June.
I'll be there as the God-Tier John with the drawing stuff and cheesy inflatable hammer.
Anyone else going to be there? I hope I run into some of you guys there >u<;
I'm not really sure if this is the place I should be asking this but here goes I guess?
I don't really have any friends that are into Homestuck (I've recently got one friend to attempt to read it but he is kind of bored already of the first act) and I've never cosplayed or anything. I really want to go to one of these conventions, so I guess I'm asking do any of you go to conventions by yourself? I can drive myself there, I just don't want to be "that one person walking around the con by themselves."
Back in 2010, I went to SPX (not really a con, but it has booths and panels and whatnot) by myself, and I ended up meeting a couple people there and hanging for a little bit. It was my first "con", but it was fun seeing everything, and meeting people into Homestuck (and Nedroid and other cool comics that were there).
It's fun to hang with friends, but when I go to PAX, I usually see panels, tour the expo hall, and such by myself (I like to show up way early, and many of my friends don't like the same stuff I do).
I've talked to people in lines for panels who were by themselves, too, so I don't think it's too unusual. A fun thing about cons is to make new friends!
HI, I'M BAD AT FORUMS. Um, but is anyone gonna be around the Knoxville, TN area next month? Because there's a small convention coming up known as Knoxville Comic and Anime Con, and I'm totally going as Karkat while my little cousin goes as Nepeta. Here's our progress so far for anyone's who's interested. ER, but anyway, I'm hoping we won't be the only Homestuck folks there. Can anyone reassure me? XD
um, i think this is the right place to ask this, but, is it possible for anyone who will be going to either of the cons hussie will be going to to get me a signature and mail it to me? i will pay for the postage, which shouldn't be much seeing i would only want you to send it in a plain envelope, or maybe an envelope in an envelope, who knows? but yeah i would pay for the postage, and as an added bonus i can draw, soooo, that means i can draw you something! anything! i really hope someone can do this for me, i would be really grateful!
will draw for hugs
I'm trying to gather a list of those who were at Knightrokon. Who was at Knightrokon? I know Meagerlysane was, she was playing board games with my little sister. I saw a roxy, multiple daves, another jade (meagerlysane was one of the Jades), a guy with a booklet that said "Keep Calm and Keep Shipping", someone whom I bought a picture with God Tier Vriska, Eridan and Feferi on it, alot of Hetalia related cosplays, genderbent Jake, and more.
