I believe you can also post threads in this here forum. If you want to start a Forum Adventure, that is.

To be exact, you have to have at least 12 posts before you can start threads outside the Cradle.

And then the server has to update you, which can take anywhere between a minute and an hour or so.
That may be changing eventually, though, since with mod-vision you can't hardly see the actual threads through all the filtered spam. Its a total bot haven.
I am not surprised on either count - I have seen and reported a fair few spambot threads. I can only imagine that's just the tip of the iceberg. That section has been around for about a year now? My guess is that most Dino topics a Wiggler might want to discuss have threads by now. Add in the relatively low post count from real posts compared with the rest of the forum... yeah, this is the me not being surprised face I am wearing right now.
Tagmaster Wuffley: I just spam-deleted the 16 most recent threads in the dinosaur comics part of the forum.*
Tagmaster Wuffley: Thats as many as four fours. And thats terrible.
Mrs. Gency: pff
Apparently editing the forum code can be potentially risky, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.
*(Meaning that they were all spambot threads, if this wasn't clear.)
Edit: Two more sprung up in the time it took to post then edit this. :V
I have been seeing it occasionally for months. Maybe it has only recently been turned on for mods though.
One sorta can. One can abuse the multi-quote feature of the forum by editing the cookie to include the post number for a post from a locked thread, but I have never managed to get a reliable or easily-explainable procedure for doing so, so you're on your own with it if it means anything to you.
I suppose it could be made official, but I don't know how hard adding the multi-quote button to locked threads would be.
You can just click on the number in the top-right of the post and note the end of the URL that shows up! For example, simon.clarkstone's post there has a post ID of 6664220.
If I were type
I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT
then it'd link to the post directly above mine and look like this:
E: Wait that's not even what you were asking dang
I deeply apologize for my long absence...Also, could there be a visitor messages feature for everyone's profile? I am not really used to only using pm to talk with other users...
Hey changes actually coming soon! This is exciting.
We essentially doubled the power of the forum server. So it should work better now.
huzzah!
Thanks and praise to those behind the upgrades!
THANKS AND PRAISE!
I love you*
*love as defined here is strictly platonic and can be redeemed for 1 (one) free hug at the gifter's convenience
Hug is contingent upon sharing nearby location in physical space, current state of body odour, whether you are covered in jam or something, whether the server actually works or just continues going down every other day

Am I going mad, or did the posting options buttons get moved to the opposite side of the screen? Tonight I keep finding myself moving my mouse towards the right to click on Go Advanced, only to notice it's not there. A harbinger of the (actual) major changes to the forum, perhaps?
Note: the first option would actually be an improvement, as I'm fairly certain I'm already mad, and have been for a long time. In the loony sense, naturally.
