This is an adventure I started on LiveJournal two months ago because I was too afraid to put it on the forums. I'm still afraid but people have suggested I bring it over and I think it's a good idea! I'll be keeping the LiveJournal as a sort of archive and/or mirror site (which I will still get suggestions from). Please bear with me and all the images on this first page. ^^;

It looks like a regular old CALENDAR. Actually, probably a very old CALENDAR. You can't read it, but the picture is nice.

Yeah, like that. Pointy hats are always promising!

Hmm, the wall looks pretty bare. It could use some SPRUCING UP now that the calendar's been put away.

You're... not actually sure! At first you thought it was a CORKSCREW but it looks more like a cork ON a screw. Or a mouse.

Hi there Fusion! I'm still bringing things over but I'll keep your suggestion in mind for the next new update.

You successfully befriend the CORKMOUSE! You decide to call it ADVELY. This is a good name, you think. You are sure that Advely will be a great friend.

It looks like a table. Nothing's on it except more spiderwebs. There's also a door and more calendars.

> Is there anything out that window?

Good question. You aren't tall enough to see what's outside, but you can tell there is light and movement on the other side of the bars.



You lift up Advely in hopes of a report.

You try to move the TABLE, but it's just too heavy! Fortunately you know how you are supposed to deal with obstacles like this.







The door is now accessible, but it looks like it's been locked.

> Does that charming-looking bot have anything that could help you?

You are now SAINT JAWSHOEA. You are the designated PROTECTOR of a temple dedicated to your namesake. In less hazardous times, such as now, you function as the CARETAKER.

You just saw what looked like an ANIMATED VERMIN in the sealed lower rooms. You're also pretty sure you just heard a chainsaw. What will you do?

(You can now control SAINT JAWSHOEA! Precede commands for the golem with "Golem:", and commands for Saint Jawshoea with "Jawshoea:".)

> Jawshoea: What happens when you turn the gears on your head?

> Corkmouse: Verify whether or not you are a living, sentient being.

Sorry! Advely is just a corkmouse. To be given life it needs a BODY, a FOCUS, and a PURPOSE. Right now it only has one of these things. (And besides, only HUMANS can give life to inanimate objects.)

> Golem: Chainsaw the door.

Who needs keys when you've got MUSCLES RAAGH

> Jawshoea: Just go look into the room. Don't panic.

You completely fail at not panicking.







Uh, wow... what's this stuff?

> Jawoshea: Flip the fuck out.

Oh no this is NOT GOOD, not good at all! Those lower rooms were sealed for a reason, darn it! How did that little guy even get in?!

> Golem, Darkness, Courtmouse: Pose as a team because SHIT IS GETTING REAL.

... Son of a BITCH.

> Golem: Fall over.

> Golem: WHAT IS GOING ON

Oh god you're so confused.

> Jawshoea: WHAT IS GOING ON

You're pretty sure that this little guy just released a creature known as SON NOTTE from the sealed room. This is going to get very bad, very fast. You need to find it before it can escape the temple and do more damage.

But first you should figure out what to do with the red-eyed fellow.

> Golem, Jawshoea: hug as a team because shit just got cute.

Thank goodness for HUGS, that is just what you needed. You feel significantly less freaked-out now. The tall fellow with the HEAD DECORATIONS says he's sure you didn't mean to chainsaw the monster free. You tell him you certainly didn't and you're really sorry about that. He says it's okay.

> St. Jawshoea: The chase... is ON.

Wow, he's really not letting go is he.



You decide to take him with you. Anyway, leaving him alone in the basement just wouldn't feel right.

Son Notte could be anywhere in the temple by now. Where will you go first?

[NightingaleRB]

> Jawshoea: Try to score some chicks. There are chicks to score, right? Right?

Sure, there are probably plenty of chicks around right now. Just not in the basement. And most of them work in the temple and are therefore OFF LIMITS. Not that you would mind if Lenna or Yun decided to abandon all procedure and NO NO STOP RIGHT THERE MISTER.



Curse your unsaintly thoughts!

> Golem: ALWAYS I WANNNA BEEE WITH YOU.

Hee hee.

> St. Jawshoea: Okay, serious business over here. Search the gardens!

Yes! Time to stop hitting yourself in the head and start getting busy! Er, busy finding that monster thing! (Geez man what is WITH you today.) Gardens mean back upstairs.

> Everyone: Go to the nearest convenient location.

You are now in the EAST WING, which is where most of the clergy spend their time when not engaged in CLERICAL DUTIES. To the west is the doorway to the MAIN ALTAR, and to the north is a hallway leading to the PRIESTESS' QUARTERS. The door to the COURTYARD is that way too, which is where you were before this whole mess started.

[NightingaleRB]

> St. Jawshoea: Try to resist urge to enter High Priestess' quarters...

You successfully resist the urge! Anyway, you decided you were going to the courtyard, right?





Oh hells of no. If that thing thinks it can harass the clergy it's in for a rude awakening.



... Still. God BLESS it, Yun. You could have just run away, you know.

> Golem: Ready your weapon.

You enter a DISCORD against Son Notte!



Looks like he got the first move. It's time for you to retaliate!

Yun takes the initiative with a devastating YUN PUNCH!





Jawshoea was about to let another EXALTED SOUND fly, but he doesn't want to hit his friend. Time to switch tactics.



You decide to charge forward with reckless abandon!

Okay, that's it. You are through trying to be nice. This guy ate your friend and he's probably gonna eat this lady too unless you shut him THE FUCK DOWN.



















Well then.

Whew. Looks like that did it. He's not reforming, or moving at all really.



You retrieve Advely. It looks like it wasn't hurt, thank goodness.





Nyeahhh, how do you like that, huh? That's what happens when you mess with the best!



Oh, uh... hey there, Jawsh.



Yun apologizes for the unnecessary cruelty. She slipped up again. Jawshoea says even though this pretty much went according to plan, he doesn't actually know how to re-seal Son Notte.

So... what will you do?

[NightingaleRB]

> Jawshoea: Go to the library and do some homework on how to reseal San Notte!

You excuse yourself and try to find out what to do next.



Unfortunately there isn't really a library in the temple! What poor planning. The Priestess has a ton of books though, so you head to her room instead.



Let's get cracking.

> Golem: Introduce yourself properly to the pretty, scary lady.

You start chatting with the lady in the dress. She introduces herself as YUN FORBER, and says she's been apprenticed here for almost a year now. You ask her if she knew about the stuff in the basement.

"We have a basement?"

> Corkmuse: Serenade pretty lady as thanks.

Yun is delighted by Advely's (a.k.a. your) antics!

> Golem: Power off.

You're not sure what that means! Do you even have a power switch?

[NightingaleRB]

> Continue.

Whoops there you go.

[NightingaleRB]

> Jawshoea: Turn around to encounter high priestess.

"There's no sneaking up on you, is there Jawshoea?"



This is the priestess, GEORGEANN MODEST. She is your oldest friend. After all, she's the one who made you. She asks what you were looking for, and you fill her in on the situation.







Unfortunately, Yun has no idea what's going on! You aren't responding to her (or even really aware of what's going on at the moment).



Hey wait a minute, Son Notte seems to be moving --



Oh. Typical, really.

[NightingaleRB]

> Golem: Activate strange dream/out of body sequence.

This is weird. You don't really feel like yourself. It's like a fundamental part of you is missing.



That opening looks familiar... but mostly, it looks like an exit. Well, it's pretty obvious what --

Stop.





You have broken the rules.
You have a body and a focus, but you lack a purpose.
A golem without a purpose is nothing but a mistake.
You won't last long. You shouldn't have lasted as long as you did.
Didn't you notice something was wrong with you?
And yet, putting you to sleep like this is all we can do. Something is not allowing us to interfere further.
You are an anomaly, little golem.

These guys sure like to talk.

> Jawshoea and Georgeann: Rush back to the place where Son Notte was last seen... aka where Yun is.

You and the priestess head back to Yun, but since Son Notte was already defeated there's no need to rush.





As soon as you enter, the new creature assaults your senses. Yun is down! Georgeann and Jawshoea are okay!
