In a bland, nondescript corner office, The Agent sat back in his chair, silently observing. Just another random agent within The Rift, watching the multiverse for anomalies. Upon discovery of such abnormalities, other teams would be dispatched to silently cull them, keeping order within all that exists.
He could be said to be reality's middle-management, simply watching and then relaying this information to his superiors. Every day the same as the last, a single mote of dust in the effervescent infinitum of Eternity. But all would change soon.
The voice of one of the Superiors crackled through his earpiece, quite a rare occurance. Usually there was no interaction between them; just the quick relaying of a message. For the first time in millennia, a break from the neverending tedium.
"Agent. We have a proposition for you. A test, if you will."
"What is it, sir?"
"We've sent a list of several individuals throughout the multiverse, all anomalies ranging from mild to severe. We would like you to dispatch them. Do this well, and you may receive... a promotion."
The Agent shifted his sunglasses and straightened his suit as he stood up from his desk. A promotion? Promotion to Superior was extremely rare, only happening once every few hundred thousand years. This was excellent news. He would have to make it... unique, though. Something to set him apart from the countless other agents of The Rift... And observation of several interesting events in the multiverse had given him just the idea...
The Grand Scheme was underway.
Well, this was kind of a sudden idea out of nowhere, with a lot of ideas provided by #MSPAFAers. It's similar to most other Grand Battles; a sort of "battle with words" between several players, divided this time into 8 rounds with 9 contestants. Deaths decided solely by writing ability - at the end of each round, the weakest writer's character will be killed, and the remaining ones will be sent to a new location to repeat the process. You are allowed to reserve a post, which will be honored for at least 3 hours, though most will honor it longer than that.
This battle will be somewhat different from most others, in that you are not able to directly kill other contestants, and must therefore be scheming and set up deaths indirectly, for example. Teamwork will be pretty much necessary at some points as well. The only real stipulation for characters is that they must qualify as "anomalies" in some way, though not necessarily in a bad way.
Name: Do I really have to explain this?
Gender: If they are genderless/some other weird alien gender, it would be helpful if you gave a pronoun that could be used. It, schler, him or her, it doesn't matter.
Color: The text color you will be using for your posts. All must obviously be different, and you may not use black, #00285e (The Agent's color), or any light colors which are hard to read. Background colors are acceptable, non-default fonts are not.
Race: Your character's species. This can be anything at all, including things like undead vacuum cleaners and what have you.
Weapon: What does your character fight with? If your character fights weaponless, then describe that they, say, fight with their fists or whatever they happen to use. Failing that, this step can be skipped entirely.
Abilities: What abilities do they have? Magic? Super powers? Describe anything they can do beyond what should be common sense.
Description: Describe your character's appearance as well as their general personality and other details. This is especially helpful if you create your own race.
Biography: What was your character's life like before they were brought to the Agent's fight to the death?
