This should be amazing if you keep up the good work. Maybe for the next update you should add the 20 or so human/troll characters as templates for working on your own? Maybe it's a bit ridiculous, but I think you should do it.
The color doesn't work
Okay so I dunno if anyone else is having this problem, but whenever I start the program, it freezes on the loading screen. Any help with this? It'd be much appreciated.
This could be any number of things...
1. You don't have all the correct files, try getting it again?
2. Your computer can't stand the awesomeness can't run the program.
I don't know anything else that could help.
Also Since there have been no updates lately I took it upon my self to update this program.
Want some chicken?
Uh, I downloaded it, but the options look really limited. I'm confused, because I'm seeing pictures in this thread that use parts I can't find.
I wish you had more on there.....
Yes, like I said, I've kind of abandoned this project, at least for the moment. Sorry guys.
And thanks Ashred, for adding stuff. I was hoping people would do that
You could try updating your DirectX installation.
And you don't get an error message?

Try the Homestuck Character Creator! Easily make your trollsona, non-canon story character, or just some weird dude or dudette!
With the Dinosaur Comic Overlay Chooser, you can get even more out of the best dinosaur-centered webcomic on the internet!
I Love It Ive Been Adding Thing Like Crazy Because Its Easy!! This Is Wonderful >me before...ill never make a fan troll series >me After RESH CHRONICALS HERE I COME

How about we bundle a lot of user-made parts and upload them, that'll make stuff a lot easier ^^
@Ashred: don't forget to make the parts white, because coloured logos/glasses don't work that well with the RGB filling, and when they're white you can easily turn them back into the original colours in-game anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Because I can.
i love this aww
So if I added options to this, would I give download links for the individual folders, or just the entire program? I ask that because I added a Horns layer, and like sixty thousand images. Okay, maybe not that many.
Okay, so I've finally organized everything, and while nearly everything lines up, some bodies are just too small for the gap in the hair, so that might have to be fixed up in a paint program. But here's my contribution to this awesome project:
have fun.
Quite a bit more of other spriters' sheets at the Sburb Strife Simulator project as well.
This is really neat, Didero. Do you mind if I remake it using Java? This should solve the Mac problem, and I'd be able to add some features that might be really hard to make with Game Maker.
I'd rather you didn't.
Because that is exactly what I've been working on
I've been building this for a few months on and off now. I think I've got (almost) all of the features of the Game Maker program in and working. The main problem at the moment is designing a good GUI. The controls of the Game Maker version are a bit clumsy and randomly placed, and Java allows for a far more usable interface. The problem is that I'm not sure how to make one. I mean, I can code up a GUI pretty easily, I just don't know where to place the buttons to make the program the most logical for users.
Any suggestions will be very welcome.
In the mean time, I'll make my current cobbled-together Java version presentable, and I'll post it up some time this week. I was gonna hold off on it for a while until I had implemented more features, but since you brought it up, Benedictusk, I couldn't keep it to myself any more![]()
Cool! I was hoping you hadn't abandoned the project. I can't wait to see what your new version looks like!
EDIT: One thing I would change would be to separate the body from the legs (similar to how others suggested to separate the horns from the hair) because I think David's red suit would look great with black pants.
Do you have any versions for MAC? Because the idea is really cool and i have some ideas, but i cannot open it on my computer .____.
PROGRAM UPDATE - BETTER LATE THAN NEVER EDITION
Ok, this has taken far too long. Part of that delay is because of school work, other projects and unexpected programming hurdles. But it's also partly because of laziness, and for that I apologize.
On with the good news! I updated the first post of this thread with the new Java-written Character Creator 1.0, along with a (wordy) explanation on how to use it. There's also a section on how to add your own images, and I hope a lot of you will contribute images.
I also welcome suggestions. As I wrote in the first post, I welcome any suggestion, from changes you would like to see in the GUI, to messages or options you think could be worded better, to entirely new features you would like to see added. Don't expect me to implement anything and everything you shout at me, but if I think it's a good idea, I'll try to work it in.
Also, if you find any bugs or strange behaviour, please report that here too. I tested the program on both Windows and Linux, but I could've missed a specific order of events that leads to weirdness. Plus, I haven't run this on Mac at all, and while Java is supposed to be multiplatform, there's plenty of chance of oddities.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I hope you don't mind that I included that set with the new download. I credited you in the 'About' window and in the Readme. These parts make the program far more fun to use than the measly selection I had before. Thanks!
@CancerliciousLuna: Try the new version. Make sure you extract the entire zip-file, and that it is organized the same as it is in the zip-file. If things still don't work, feel free to ask again.
So, can people FINALLY stop asking about a Mac version now?![]()
