I decided to try drawing a full body Nepeta this time, instead of just her head.
The sad thing is that my artistic skills are so horrible that I'm sure it wouldn't be much better if my eyes were open. x_x
I think I've developed a horrible fascination with this thread and its exploding Nepetas. 0_0
There is no dark side of the moon. Matter of fact, it's all dark.
It takes a lot of skill to draw explodeing nepeta. Muffinz deserves props.

Okay guys, it's past 12:00 where I live, so I think I'd better go get some sleep.
Also, since I have school tomorrow, I will only be able to make these early in the morning and then in the late afternoon.
Sorry!
I will try to make more whenever I have the time to do so.
Don't expect very many tomorrow, though.
EDIT:
Oh, uh... thanks.
Really, it doesn't take too much time or effort.
I appreciate the compliment, though.

Odd part is I am in the same situation as muffinz... I really should go to bed but... I close my eyes and I just see nepeta... Explodeing.

I'm sure some of you know that my artistic skills lie in the fields of Legos and Filmmaking, but I'm going to use this bizarre new trend to better my drawing abilities.
Think about it.
I am teaching myself how to draw through this thread.
My favorite part is how it sort of looks like the hat is responsible.
Lt. Fish, I dare you to close your eyes, make Nepeta out of Lego and post it here
ACCEPTED
Hey, good job!
For someone who is not very good at regular drawing, that was not bad.
...Is what I would have said, if not for the fact that I am without a doubt sleeping right now and am NOT still downstairs on the computer goofing off, but I am not doing that and in fact I am CLEARLY upstairs in bed.

Alright here goes.
Bear in mind that it was pretty much impossible to create anything more complicated than "Humanoid with pointy things on its head", and that I was pretty tired. Also, I don't have my camera and had to take this with a stupid webcam.
Before anyone shouts out "faaaaaaaake", let me assure you that I only peeked to ensure my own safety as I walked around the room, and that this sort of practice is entirely possible if you've got all the bricks sorted into little bins.
Now if you excuse me I have to go to sleep.
Please don't improve this one, I've got my own plans for it that revolve around taking a picture with a camera, and will have to be postponed.
Let me take this moment to outline my idea for Exploding Nepeta: The Movie. It'll start out simple, like the cat video, but then the "improved" drawings start showing up. They will get progressively creepier, until BLAM! They start exploding!
If I add some sound effects and keyframe 'em around the screen properly, it'll be the funniest thing since sliced bread.
That probably isn't a very helpful explanation, but trust me when I say that we'll be talking about this for years if it turns out half as good as it is in my mind.

You are Lt Fish. A time traveler has destroyed your lego sword, stolen the pieces and replaced them with chocolate chips! It is your sworn duty to get your sword back and destroy the villain!
What will you do?
You are now Nepetatron, loyal servant of Lieutenant Fish. Your only wish is to avenge the destruction of your master's lego sword.
Man it sure is cold out here next to this overpass.
Okay hang on let me set the camera up for a cool 360 shot.
Oh yeah gotta have the radio thing let me get that too.
Roll camera.
Ahem
Shit just got real.
Yeah that's sort of what I was getting at, the improvements would appear next to or right after the originals. That's why I really like improvements that have the same dimensions as the original, it'll make for smooth transitions. I guess I explained it poorly.
As for Hall of the Mountain king, I hadn't considered it. You're absolutely right, it could be very effective if applied properly.
However, and I don't really know how to explain this either, the thought of using it sets off a whole bunch of little alarms in my head.
I'll definitely give it a try, but it's not Plan A.

Okay, so I checked with Lexxy on this and evidently it is probably okay for me to post.
After inadvertently starting this "gored Nepeta" fad, my sense of oneupmanship is making me feel compelled to win it. So, WARNING: I kind of went a little too far with this reinterpretation. If you are squeamish or at work, this is not a good thing to look at. So like Muffinz, I'm going to both put this in spoiler tags AND link it.
I am a little worried someone is going to try to outdo me in terms of grimness now. >=

Thanks, but I'm going to have to cast my vote in with Kzerad's latest masterpiece!
I think the funniness of an improvement's juxtaposition to the original is increased when it's handled by someone as talented as the Master of all Sadness. I just dew some lines and pasted in a few colors. But yeah, thanks.
Okay, I'm back.
...Hey, look, Kazerad posted a-
aaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Funny!?I think the funniness of an improvement's juxtaposition to the original is increased when it's handled by someone as talented as the Master of all Sadness. I just drew some lines and pasted in a few colors.
What!?
THAT WAS NOT FUNNY OH GOG THAT WAS DEFINATELY NOT FUNNY AAAAHHHHHH
...I think I will need to change my avatar to reflect this.
