Well I guess it's Singing Saturday. This is my first time posting here, but here goes. I guess I'll start with some context? I've always loved Eridan. I just think it is great how pathetic he is, and his recent breakdown I found somewhat relatable. And I really loved him in the latest Alterniabound flash. He theme song was just so belligerent, sorrowful and over-the-top, just like him. So I thought in tribute to the sad sack of shame globes I'd write lyrics to it. And here's me singing them.


And here are the lyrics. My terrible singing is probably hard to understand even without using his wwavvy accent. (I started to lose it a bit around the middle)

But good news! There is some Les Mis stuff for guys! "A Little Fall of Troll" has Karkat's part, "i hoped a hope" is all Eridan (though I guess you'd have to transpose the background music), and "One Troll More" and "The Spider8itch" are both about half sung by male trolls. (Although "The Spider8itch" is from Cats.) All of these are linked in my sig if you want to have a go at them. I would be super happy if you did!

Also, there is the one with Gamzee as the innkeeper, "Ringmaster of the Hive," which I did not write but which is awesome.

(Incidentally, anyone who is thinking of voicing one of mine--feel free to PM me if you have questions about where to put emphasis and pauses and stuff, cause I'm not sure how clear it is from the text alone and I would feel bad if you had to spend ages comparing different options and whatnot. The cadence mostly matches the original songs, but not always.)

Well, "One Troll More" could theoretically be voiced by as few as two people (one male and one female), assuming they could do different voices for each character. Of course more is better, but I can definitely see how getting a different person for every part would be prohibitively difficult.

Regarding transposing background music, there's this very cool program my dad uses: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...ansposer.shtml. It allows you to change the key of a piece of music without changing the speed, or vice versa. It's very useful, and although it isn't free, there is a free trial version. Unfortunately there is a bit of distortion the more you change the pitch, and I don't know whether it will do a whole octave without sounding like crap. If it can't, "I Dreamed a Dream" is popular enough that there might be versions available in different keys.

Also, I guess Javert's Suicide would fit Vriska pretty well! And yet Javert is Terezi! (I wouldn't be surprised if it could be adapted to lots of different characters though. For instance, if you replace suicide with homicide as the response to a collapse in the singer's worldview, it could fit Eridan.)

(Edit: Oh wait, I think I misunderstood what you said. Actually the Vriska one is based on one of Valjean's songs from the prologue, so Javert's Suicide remains unwritten at the moment. I might take a crack at it sometime.)

Rose is hard for me because I teeter between cutesy girly voice (pretty much Jade) and my normal voice (too deep for a 13-year-old).
