Jay-Arr is very silly. (It's another pointless formspring you guys.)
In a failed attempt to make up for my never coming on, I made this. It's a parody of "Mister Brightside" called "The Prince a Hope" written for Eridan. I think it's cool, but you know.
Yeah, I think I tried to make it funny but then it got sad there. 0h well.

My first solo Singing Saturday... and it's a twofer. Same song, but still.
First, Tavros sings "Creep" by Radio head, plus guest. (Any changes were completely improvised as I went along so if quality=shitty then sqrt(-1)=sorry)
Secondly, me singing Creep as myself. This was actually just my warmup run I did to prepare for the one up there ^^^ and I liked the recording, so I decided to share it as well as a bonus. Enjoy; I know I did.
E: Also, happy Singing Saturday.![]()
AUGH WHAT IS MEMORY HOW DO I DO THIS.
But yeah, here's the completed Miracles song. It's not very well structured and doesn't really have a chorus or anything, but I think I'm the first one to do something like this.
Also, I looked back at the lyics that I'd already did and actually said "Hmm, I should probably put a verse where it's implied Nepeta got raped." I need help.
POSE AS A TEAM, CAUSE SHIT JUST GOT OIRISH.
Tavros I know your hate-waifu is like 900 pounds, but get out of BBWChan!

Here's a special St Valentine's Day edition of Singing Saturday -- generally I ignore this holiday, and in my younger days, like so many others, I took every opportunity to rail against it -- but what the hell, I've been in a sentimental mood lately.
Sentimental enough, in fact, to attempt singing in a musical style to which my voice has never been suited...

Crossposting another songish thing from Fanfiction, in case anyone wants to voice it.
Wh8t Have I Done?
Original song.
Edit: Teleharmonic, that was gorgeous. It's gonna be stuck in my head all day.

Hey everyone! I'm new here, and decided to give this a shot. It was really fun!
I tried reading this memo. I took a stab at Karkat, and briefly Gamzee. I didn't bother with Feferi's lines, because I didn't know what to do with them. Also I had forgotten that there is a snippet of Eridan at the end so uh... don't take that part seriously.
My microphone's pretty atrocious so you might have to turn the volume up on this guy.
Anyways, enjoy!
edit: Also criticism would be pretty cool! I'd like to get better at this sort of thing.

When you voice Karkat, it just sounded like you were talking/reading. Put some ENERGY behind it; the dude is SCARED OUT OF HIS FUCKING LIFE.
Your Gamzee made me laugh, and I just about died when I heard your Eridan at the end. XD
You've got potential. Just work on it. ^_^

Cerulean, I wish you would write Les Mis stuff for guys. =( I'd be happy to sing it, as I can sing fairly well and love Les Mis like no other.
Maybe Empty Chairs At Empty Tables?
Well, I do plan to write that one.Karkat is the best Marius.
But good news! There is some Les Mis stuff for guys! "A Little Fall of Troll" has Karkat's part, "i hoped a hope" is all Eridan (though I guess you'd have to transpose the background music), and "One Troll More" and "The Spider8itch" are both about half sung by male trolls. (Although "The Spider8itch" is from Cats.) All of these are linked in my sig if you want to have a go at them. I would be super happy if you did!
Also, there is the one with Gamzee as the innkeeper, "Ringmaster of the Hive," which I did not write but which is awesome.
(Incidentally, anyone who is thinking of voicing one of mine--feel free to PM me if you have questions about where to put emphasis and pauses and stuff, cause I'm not sure how clear it is from the text alone and I would feel bad if you had to spend ages comparing different options and whatnot. The cadence mostly matches the original songs, but not always.)

I would love to get One Troll More moving, but that is a lot of different vocal parts. O_O I assume that it would have to be a different person for each character, right?
I have no Gamzee voice, unfortunately. XD I love that song, but I would be far out of character if I tried a Gamzee version.
I don't see I Hoped A Hope in your sig. =0 I know I'd be able to sing that in the original key an octave down with fairly little trouble. I certainly don't know how I'd manage to get the entire background music track transposed. >_<
I guess I just REALLY wish that the troll Javert's Suicide was written for a guy. I love that song too much. XD Granted, it fits Vriska like a glove.
I'll see what I can do, but I don't have much time this week for stuff that isn't related directly to my musical studies. Here's to hoping I get a free hour!
Well, "One Troll More" could theoretically be voiced by as few as two people (one male and one female), assuming they could do different voices for each character. Of course more is better, but I can definitely see how getting a different person for every part would be prohibitively difficult.
Oh dear, you're right, I completely forgot to put "i hoped a hope" in my sig. How embarrassing! I'll do that now. (I don't know if you'll want to sing it once you read it, though. I don't think it came out all that well.)
Regarding transposing background music, there's this very cool program my dad uses: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...ansposer.shtml. It allows you to change the key of a piece of music without changing the speed, or vice versa. It's very useful, and although it isn't free, there is a free trial version. Unfortunately there is a bit of distortion the more you change the pitch, and I don't know whether it will do a whole octave without sounding like crap. If it can't, "I Dreamed a Dream" is popular enough that there might be versions available in different keys.
Also, I guess Javert's Suicide would fit Vriska pretty well! And yet Javert is Terezi! (I wouldn't be surprised if it could be adapted to lots of different characters though. For instance, if you replace suicide with homicide as the response to a collapse in the singer's worldview, it could fit Eridan.)
(Edit: Oh wait, I think I misunderstood what you said. Actually the Vriska one is based on one of Valjean's songs from the prologue, so Javert's Suicide remains unwritten at the moment. I might take a crack at it sometime.)
Anyway, don't feel pressured! The whole point of this thread is to have fun!I will be really happy if you sing any of my stuff, but I am not going to breathe down your neck about it.

Meep! I'm sorry. I am very unsure of myself.
I will get to this (as well as "I can't Decide" which I promised I'd do earlier) as soon as possible. Like I said this week is pretty packed, but I have been itching to sing stuff, so I might put some important stuff off to sing instead.
