trollslum cafe was a good idea. a great idea. a place to test out your characters.

it quickly devolved into a "who could be the biggest badass/attention whore" contest that often happens with open rp which completely ruined the original atmosphere it was going for and made it hard for newer players to come in. either they'd find no place to fit into the apparent overarching storyline or just didn't want to involve their characters in that mess.

i'm going to make a fairly decent guess and say that chumroll is more densely populated by self-inserts than trollslum. it kind of pains me to say this, but there are plenty of roleplayers out there who jump into their characters just a little bit too far, starting fights to defend their character's honor and engaging in fights to win (or at least lose by a thread). i've seen it in the troll cafe, there's no doubt in my mind that it'll happen in a similar thread.

you might say that trolls are inherently a violent race. well, they're also inherently reclusive, and that's not stopping them from going to a cafe that would probably never exist in the canon. mind you, i'm not saying that the trollslum cafe should go away because it doesn't make sense, i'm saying it is still having trouble with the "no fights" rule by the 5th thread, and that is a big problem.

People often ask you "Hey, Jonesy, why do you wear those dark goggles all the time?" of which you reply, "'Cuz they look cool.". But that isn't the whole answer. Your eyes are actually very, very sensitive to sunlight, and those 'cool' goggles are the only thing separating you and blindness. But they do look cool. You wear a tank top, a raggedy pair of camo-green cargo pants, and some old shoes because they're actually the only thing you have to wear. That's... Pretty sad but, meh. You also have two tattoos, one is a tribal band on your left arm, and the other is your zodiac sign (cancer) a bit... close to a place where the typist is too scared to name or else suffer an infraction.

... Anyways. Your a very passive girl, usually your only objection to something being a snarky comeback. That's about as far as it goes, unless it's not too far-fetched. Because hey, why not just conform to avoid any problems. You already have enough to deal with anyways. You also have a distaste for the lazy, going as far as to say they don't deserve what they have, because you pull your own weight to get what you have, so why don't they? Everyone has to earn what they have, in your eyes. They also need to earn your trust, too.
