Your chumhandle is typicallyUnusual, and you type like a normal human being, with no quirks of any kind because quirks are stupid and so are you.
I'm really glad that I found this, because I've been looking for something like it ever since I got into reading Homestuck. However, I was wondering if there was some sort of single file or some other conglomeration of all these rule suggestions that were carried through, or if there will be one released in the future? If there is, I'd really like to know about it, because I have a few friends I think would really appreciate playing this game.
Does anyone know if there are any groups of this accepting new members? I'd love to play, but none of my friends wanna GM this, and I'd rather play this than GM it.
I am also interested in joining a group, nobody around here seems to know what homestuck is (unfortunately) and I would like to play this game. PM me if you have a spot open.
I'm all for joining a group, or, if noone else has spots and I have ample time to prepare, running one. I guess PM me for now and if there's enough interest I'll start one.
Your name is Zach Rorrim. Your chumhandle is DubiousPalindrome and you tend to speak with absolutely proper spelling and grammar. How sad that this is a quirk nowadays. Your interests include robotics, various anime, computer coding, robotics, all things mirror related, and robotics.
There is a new group.

So, I just got this idea. In our group, two of our member have a matespriteand another two have a kismesitude
. The matesprite ones have the Empathic Connection template.
But what about the kismesitude ones? And I got a pretty simple idea. How about swapping them? There will be a sentimenal connection between these two characters, but in the kismesis way: the more the other suffers, the better you feel.Code:- Whenever an ally who also has this template takes damage equal to your level + 5 or more, you take damage equal to your level that cannot be reduced by any means. - Whenever an ally who also has this template receives healing or temporary hit points, you regain health or temporary hit points equal to your level (divided by) 2, rounded up. - Whenever an ally who also has this template scores a Brutal Affront, you gain a +1 racial bonus to skill and attack rolls until the end of your next turn. - Whenever an ally who also has this template rolls a Grave Blunder, you gain a -1 racial penalty to skill and attack rolls until the end of your next turn.
What do you think? I'm gonna use it in my group.Code:- Whenever an ally who also has this template takes ongoing damage or damage, you regain health or temporary hit points (respectively) equal to your level (divided by) 2, rounded up. - Whenever an ally who also has this template receives healing or temporary hit points equal to your level + 5 or more, you take damage equal to your level that cannot be reduced. - Whenever an ally who also has this template scores a Brutal Affront, you gain a -1 racial penalty to skill and attack rolls until the end of your next turn. - Whenever an ally who also has this template rolls a Grave Blunder, you gain a +1 racial bonus to skill and attack rolls until the end of your next turn.
Seems sound enough mechanically, although it could potentially screw with party unity. As long as you're prepared to deal with that I don't see a problem.
Just out of curiosity, did the kismesis couple already have an empathic connection, or are you having it develop as a result of the coupling, or what?
They have it since the beginning. That was the status about how the party starts. If later some couple have a Matesprite/Kismesitude, they'll be dinamically asigned the proper Emphatic Connection template. Same thing if the mate/kisme is lost.
Off the record, the kismesitude dude is a hated one within the roleRPG, I don't know exactly why. Seems like it turned out the be mainstream to hate him O_O
I don't know if it's mentioned here, but on Page 65, there's a typo.
"In the case that one of the players has prototyped something particularly powerful, getting a Propitan or Dersite with a ring or scepter on their side may be the only hope for victory."
Should be Prospitian. Minor thing, I know, but I figure it should be mentioned.
Hey guys, I'm not sure how much you care about character sheets now, but I took Masterweaver's sheet and modified it a bit, so it looks a bit cleaner and provides a few tips. I also removed the color backgrounds from the aggrievement boxes because all the RED hurts my eyes. Here's My Blank Sheet.
Your pesterchum handle was loquacionGenerator but now it's legendaryGamer, and ( +,,:: ) I love video games.
Um... do speed bonuses apply to extra movement modes granted by templates (like Flying from Sprite)? Or are they restricted to land movement.

Answering that from my experience with 4e: Neither Bonuses nor Penalties apply to alternate forms of movement, though certain kinds of penalties disable all movement but teleportation.
Woah, this is an amazing thing and it's beautiful and it makes me want to cry.
I really want to play this, I made a character sheet and everything (took me a good few hours, I've only played DnD twice and all this new stuff left me confused, lol).
All the playtests seem to be filling up pretty fast, but if anyone is going to GM another any time soon, please pm me!
Just wanted to post to thank the creators! Kudos to you all!
Also; if a character were to have a major disability such as being mute, would this prevent the character from learning shout based moves, or add a penalty to a skill?

Penalty to Chumming and Trolling, I think, but I could be wrong. I guess you'll get similar pluses to other disabilities.
That's what I was thinking, -1 or -2 to chumming and trolling, but +1 to perception and stealth due to other senses being finer tuned.
For blind characters I would think -1 or -2 to science and stealth (maybe acrobatics too?) and +1 for perception and mystery, again for heightened senses.
Oh geez there are all sorts of disabilities that would effect skills.
Also keep in mind that a GM will usually want to randomize everything, so any character sheet you make up will essentially be useless except for experience in making them. At least that's how it was in my experience.
Hi, so I'm completely new to the Forums, I actually joined because of this thread. The idea of a Tabletop RPG of Sburb excites my veins like radioactive rubber pants, and I hope I can help contribute to it's development. I'm wondering if theres any Online Groups starting that would like another player, as I'm EXTREMELY interested in trying as a player. probably after I get some more experience playing, or if I feel ready after reading through all of the sourcebook, I also have a Campaign I want to do that I'm calling Tachiōjōhōmu / DwellingVexed. The Basic Premise is naturally, about a bunch of kids, but one of the kids lives in Japan, and Sends his friends Copies of the Sburb Beta, only for them to discover that it's the Japanese Pre-Release version! it's intended to be a "What if Homestuck was written by a Japanese Andrew Hussie"... Except I'm totally not Japanese. Still! Fun stuff. Can't wait to be a part of the community everyone.
I would LOVE to play a game of this. Either GMing or being a player. If anyone fancies dropping me a PM I could get the ball rolling on playing one.
Obviously i'll come here with any data gained from playtesting :P
I have, in the session I am running at home, a need for stats for Lord English and for Mobius Trip/Hadron Kaliedo. Can anyone point me in the direction of these stat blocks?
EDIT: I've been informed that I should just play Lord English as a "you lose" situation. So nevermind on the big E.

By the looks of things, people've been making their topics in the Sburb/Trollslum Roleplay section.
