Is Nepetaquest exclusively about Nepeta?
No, there will be lots of playable characters: canon, original, and some submitted fantrolls. The story will always be about Nepeta, though.

Why isn't this as funny as Homestuck?
I try to make it as funny as possible, but in general I have different strengths as a writer than Hussie. I can't pretend otherwise! So the story is going to have plenty of dramatic and sci-fi elements.

Why isn't it all playable?
Some segments will be dramatic and are supposed to end a certain way. Rather than sifting through user commands until I get the desired outcome I will just take the wheel. Of course you are welcome to submit commands anyway during these sequences, and if they are awesome I may do that instead!

Is this supposed to be canon or something?
This is a fanfiction.

If you have this all planned out what is the point of making it an adventure?
I have the major elements in place but how and when we GET there is up to you. Already the story has taken unexpected turns.

You are Nepeta Leijon.

It is twilight on your fifth wriggling day, a time trolls are intended to set aside to reflect on their FAILURES. You were NEVER GOOD at reflecting, or thinking in general, but you imagine your life could be a LOT MORE EXCITING! You live in a yawnring--you mean LAWNRING--precariously perched over the ocean. Your seaside community is close knit, and all of your friends live nearby. The sound of the ocean coming in against the cliffs is so soothing your recuperacoon seems redundant!

Occasionally from your window you see a group of FLARPers sailing for adventure on the HIGH SEAS. Someday you plan to join them! For now you continue to feel an unnerving sense of restlessness.

What will you do?

But you could NEVER. Every young girl troll's heart muscles beat thrice fast for the utterly nonthreatening visage of TROLL JUSTIN BIEBER. You could not even fathom what it would take for you lay this crush aside! Plus you went to the trouble of getting it and putting it up, which is hard because you are seriously the worst when it comes to tools and stuff.

You consider YOWLING but remember it is still EARLY in the night and not everyone is awake yet. That would be rude, and they would think you were WEIRD or something. The idea has undeniable appeal...

Anyway, you decide that today is a day for ADVENTURE. Once you place your hand on the door you feel a steely resolve sweep through you! You have always been AFRAID of the Alternian wilderness. There is GOOD REASON to be afraid, since it is incredibly DANGEROUS. On the advice of your friends you have always stayed close to your village. Now you are FIVE SWEEPS, though, so they can jump off the cliff if they don't like it!

Luckily before you actually leave and get into the wilderness, you realize you are all kinds of unprepared. You should probably arm yourself, and... tell someone what you are doing.
