@ Kayak- < 3< 3< 3 I absolutely love this! I can really imagine Kanaya being like this, and just the overall story is lovely. And this shows a more human side of Kanaya, which is great.
This is now partly in my head canon. (although I don't plan on Nepeta running away, it's just too sad. ;.; )

But, yes, this is beautiful, and you should really write more, it's lovely!

Aww thank you Redbird. The things I write always turn out depressing, so I'm glad that it was at least somewhat enjoyable to read. That's why I'm looking forward to your Part 3, for a less sad ending.

Hyozo, you can pitch ideas here if you'd like. I'm sure other people could help you form them together into a coherent picture.

Recently I've been curious about what is the "most canon" in this AU because I wanted to update the introduction Bios in the OP but I honestly had no idea. I have my own headcanons, but I don't want to impose them on anyone with different ones. Like, Feferi being the Mayor's daughter? Pretty canon. Karkat having been raised by Slick? Maybe canon, maybe just my headcanon? Aradia being raised by Droog? Most likely just my headcanon (and my love for emesis' AU), as I'm not even sure how that would work out or how Aradia would end up as a cop. Everyone else's parents? NO CLUE.

I focused on families just as an example, but it could extend to anything about the characters. If you guys would let me know what you believe is most canon to this AU, then that would be fantastic.

@kayak- A problem with trying to determine the most canon aspects of this AU is the divide between the people who mainly frequent this thread and the people at the deviantART RP group.
As far as I know the popular canon for most characters and events are vastly different between the two groups.

Dave's daughter from the future, mother is either Terezi or Jade, but she always wears a hat so you can't check for horns. Wasn't having her eyes covered a big deal? Like, her eyes took after her mother? I don't remember. And apparently she works for Eridan too now?

I don't have a set headcanon for a lot of details about a lot of character's lives, and I don't think it should be limited to just those who regularly write fanfic or draw fanart to determine what they should be. So, I just spent ages working on this. This is how I think the trolls sound in real life. So, in my (hopefully) future fanfictions, this is how I will write them speaking. I hope people enjoy it. xD (And I am working on Sisters Part 3, as well as another fanfiction idea at the moment. c: )

Karkat- Speaks pretty normally. Drops his g’s though, and can drop other letters. When he gets angry, he goes into Rant mode, which consists of him YELLING ANGRILY AND IN A HUGE F***ING LOUD VOICE AT SOME POOR WIGGLER.

Aradia- Her voice can sound very monotonous at times. She also generally never shortens words. Has a habit of pronouncing all her ‘o’ sounds as just ‘oh’. So even ‘words’ would be pronounced as ‘wohrds’. This makes her sound far posher than she is.

Tavros- Has... uh... a habit of stuttering a... uh.... lot... and pausing... because... uh... he doesn’t know what to say. And the longer his sentences are, the higher pitched they can become. He also has a habit of starting his sentences off quietly, but as he become more confident, they become SLIGHTLY LOUDER.

Sollux- Lisp. Can’t always pronounce ‘s’ sounds. Better now than when he was little though, but still happens quite a lot. Tho, he hath to often use the ‘th’ sound inthead. Also sometimes doubles his ‘i’ sounds, for some odd reason, that he can’t seem to figure out.

Nepeta- Has a habit of referring to herself in third person, and also likes giving a running commentary on her life. Also always makes Cat puns/play on words, as a force of habit furrom when Nep was young! She is always very expressive with her face, and you can usually tell what she is feeling, from the first word she says.

Kanaya- Over Pronounces Each And Every Letter And Word She Says. Think Of The Queen’s English, And That Is The Way She Speaks. Has A Habit Of Rambling At Times, About Random And Often Completely Off Topic Subjects, Like For Example, Did you Know That The Weather Outside Is Currently Very Nice, And--- And Often Uses A Very Advanced Vocabulary.

Terezi- Always sounds a bit manic and crazy. Has a very odd jolting way of speaking, and sounds crazy when she laughs. Often shouts without knowing as well. SHE JUST CAN’T HELP IT! HEHEHEHEHE! Sounds slightly robotic with the sounds ‘I’, ‘A’ and ‘E’.

Vriska- She has a whiny voice at times, and likes to sometimes eloooooooong the ends of certain words for exactly 8 seconds. Pronounces her ‘b’s weirdly, and words that she can substitute the ‘eight’ sound into, she will.. And when she get’s flustered, she will just substitute the ‘eight’ sound into almost any word, she what she says can be a bit hard to understand.

Equius- Always tries to sound better than you. Speaks very poshly, and never ever swears! That is too common. These habits have gotten slightly better, but he still sounds very snobbish. Replaces ‘k’ sounds, and other sounds if he can, with an ‘x’ sounds. He also overuses words that contain the letter x/that sound. Also pronounces words such as ‘foolishness’ oddly.

Gamzee- HaS A habit oF RandomALLY LoWEring AND raiSIng the sOUNd ANd pitCH Of his vOIce. Also uses very relaxed words, and uses a lot of slang, and word shortenings. (Like, She’d, it’d etc.) Has a habit of calling people odd nicknames, He also can swear quite a lot. Despite all this, he actually can sound rather posh, and he will never drop letters, like ‘g’s for example.

Eridan- Has a German accent. ‘W’s become a V sound, and ‘V’s become a F sound. Has a habit of dropping ‘g’s at the end of words as well. And has a f***in’ veird habit of alvays feelin’ fery sorry for himself.

Feferi- Slight French accent. Always drops her ‘H’s for some reason. Also at times, she will elongate her ‘E’ sounds. LIKEEEEEEE THIS! And at times, she just CANNOT CONTAIN ‘EEEEEERSELF, SO S’EEEEEEE JUST ‘AS TO S’OUT OUT BECAUSEEEEEEE S’EEEEEEEE IS SO EEEEEEXCITEEEEEED! GLUB GLUB GLUB GLUB! Also always makes fish puns, as a force of halibut from when she was young, and uses the word ‘glub’ a lot. Often to replace swear words, as a girl of her social standings should just never swear! Ever.

Some interesting choices. I was thinking of sticking with NepetaKarkat, but NepetaGamzee would be pretty interesting. DaveAradia will probably happen, and KarkatKanaya. (That's at least been planned)

Ummm... okay, Terezi/Eridan, or Rose/Eridan, your choice I guess. Whichever one gets the most votes, will be the one I go for.

I might do KarkatJade, but I think some more unusual pairings would be fun. Any more ideas? Also, has anyone got any or pairings they'd like? Because there are too few of them in this AU. xD And any more / pairings as well!

Hey guys. Umm, this is a GR-EAT AU! So great, I had to emphasize it with Fef's typing quirk. I rarely feel like doing that. And I just wanted to contribute something. Welp, here's my first fanfic ever.

The Chronic... Insanity: Part 1 - Hats of a Hard-Boiled Persuasion.

The Veil: A last-resort asylum where only the worst criminals and the insane beyond belief were kept. Located at the very border which separates Alternia City from the numerous Frog Ruins that were left untouched from it's... ruined state since the First and Second Great Skaian Wars. This was the place reserved for ones like Senator Lemonsnout I (The infamous corrupt senator who went insane after being ousted by Officer Pyrope, hung himself shortly after arrival), Lil Cal (A criminal who posed as a puppet, killing anyone who wouldn't be cool with him), and the like. This asylum is divided into three sections: the ill-maintained CrimeCage, a filthy place with smells and sights that would make a blind man who couldn't smell cry; the Insano Institution, a mental rehab center for the abnormally insane, and the Terminal, which serves as the home of the staff during their 24/7 duties. Here we focus on one man in the In2 (Insano Institution), one who had just arrived recently, as he struggles to not screw up.

FedoraFreak. Everyone had called him that, and it fits, don't you think? He was admitted into the veil for various crimes that involved a hat shop, bottles of Worcestershire sauce, fake arms, pumpkins, and a run-in with the famous GameBro. And piss. These crimes were regarded by Mayor WV and Commander-In-Chief AR to be "so ridiculous that this makes 'Pumpkins exist' a scientific fact." And so it was, that he would be sent to The Veil. And, by coincidence, the first words he heard there were...

"YOU! YOU'RE NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!"

Thus is the beginning of his new life in a world full of crazy, a fist full of Worcestershire sauce bottles, and a head full of empty.

The First and Second Great Skaian Wars: The events that led to the world (Skaia) being what it is.
Skaia: The name of the planet. One-fourth of it is what was formerly Prospit. Another one-fourth was formerly Derse. Yet another one-fourth is known as The Foreign Lands. And the remaining one-fourth is, currently, the only inhabitable place on the planet. It's been that way since the Second Great Skaian War.
The first settlers: humans, trolls, and carapaces. Consorts showed up after the First War. Hybrids showed up after the Second.

Anyway, I'll have more stuff later. But this is all I can think of for now. Also I love all the fanfics here. They're all great!

He just felt like reminiscing about something. He stood up, grabbed a book from one of the shelves behind him, and started to read. The sun lit the room he was in, making it much easier for him to read. It just so happened that this man was the one who built this city. This man was the one who had saved this city from its descent. Its descent into something much lower than what it already is…

“Alternia City... A bustling suburb of crime, corruption, chaos… And yet, strangely pleasant. Hah, this town might be bad, but it could be worse,” thought this man. This statement is true. It always has been. The man thought back to that time. Back to the time where he had first developed the rules of this town. Even now, these rules still hold. Even after all those years of struggle. He fell asleep, dreaming of the past that had been much worse than the worst crimes in the city…

“Alternia City… Back then it was just a crazy man and his crazy thoughts. And to think, those ideas had evolved into this… I couldn’t believe it,” thought a woman, currently doing her job. Her job was her passion. And she had the guts to carry it out. No matter what. This train of thought led her to reminisce about the time when things had taken a turn for the worse. She could hardly believe that this town had recovered from all that trouble…

“Alternia City… At first, I thought this would be a step down from what old towns used to be like. But after a few months, seeing how peaceful it was compared to towns of old, I had come to realize that this was actually a step up. I’m impressed with how the city is being governed… Even if it isn’t a monarchy… It’s still better than the past…” These words were the opening lines of a book. A book being written by an old married couple, as they detail the events that led to the state of the current Alternia City…

I felt like doing something different. I mean, there's so much backstory for the characters. And I thought about the fact that nothing about the City's history was built on. Except for the whole Green Sun incident by Wigmund (Lovin' the bios btw). It might not be important, but hey, building on the setting and its history is almost as important, right?

Hey guys.Err...I'm rather new to this forum things so...I'm technically a newbie...in every aspect.Uh...I saw some of the little things for the Troll!Cops and I feel that this AU is just fucking awesome.Because of this thread,I can't exactly watch CSI:Miami without thinking about Sollux doing the whole Horatio Caine gig...which I am actually dying to see.

I actually wanna share some doodlesketches I did for the AU when I was bedridden.In my head,there are somethings that aren't meant to be mention but this needs to leak.They said that Karkat had a connection to Slick.My best guess is that he was adopted by Slick,trained under his wings but then got kicked out since he questioned Slick,ended up on the streets,found Nepeta and Gamzee and well...they are now under Dr.Pupa.Just for a teaser,Karkat and the crew.


Of course,I have several others.A little bit of adjustments would suffice and I'll show you guys a little later.

The device is actually from my personal comic.One of the character,who had a knack for making these thing,lost a prototype since he got chased by a rather absurd librarian for not returning the schematics from a previous project. The Veil... Wait, this place was already described! Ah, well, at least we can focus on another man in the In2.

This man has no name. A pity, even for one such as him. He was given the name JB, for reasons only the staff know. He was admitted into the In2 for hallucinating that pumpkins were real. He would always say that they existed. But no one believed him. It was a fact that the pumpkin did not exist. And never will. JB could never get over that.

For years, he had searched and searched his cell for the pumpkin that would always be there, but it would always disappear before he could even touch it. This only led him to further believe that the pumpkin would help him escape.

Come, October 25. The pumpkin had appeared. JB did not touch it, fearing that it might disappear. But he tried. And, to his surprise, it stayed. He shouted triumphantly, alerting the guards.

"Alright, JB. What's going on?"
JB laughed hysterically.
"HERE'S WHAT'S UP, SUCKERS. A JAILBREAK!"

He threw the pumpkin. It let out a green explosion with yellow streaks here and there, breaking the solid transparent wall that essentially served as the door. The guards just stood there confused.

"... was that a pumpkin!?"
"Guess he was telling the truth."
"No, pumpkins don't explode like that."
"How would YOU know? They never existed!"
"You got that point, now let's go catch him!"

JB was just running. He was definitely enjoying this.

"Get him!"

Well, that moment ended quickly. In his panic, he hadn't noticed the pumpkin in his hand. During that panic, he dropped it.. It blew him up. The guards just got the body, and carefully dropped it back to the cell. JB woke up again.

"Awww, I was THIS close!" The pumpkin was back in the cell.

"Hehe. I got an idea."

He threw the pumpkin at the wall that led outside. The same thing happened.

"Darn. Oh well, at least you're here, pumpkin."

JB would then do the same thing until November 1. The pumpkin suddenly stopped coming. He let out a single tear.

Meanwhile:
"NO! THIS ISN'T RIGHT! THE PUMPKIN ISN'T SUPPOSED TO DO THAT! OH WHAT HAS THIS WORLD COME TO!?"
