Also! I bear a missive from ZDG. He's stuck for a week without laptop/pc access, but he can still access IRC channels on his phone. Collabs and planning are still go, though he won't be able to view or post in the fora.

Assuming that my understanding of time zones is adequate, ZDG should be online during the afternoon in USA time. His time zone is GMT +1. I think. He says he'll be particularly free Wednesday and Friday. This means Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

Ok, first draft of a new troll. This one was kind of my way of dealing with Eriden's betrayal. Thus I created as just and noble a character as I could, around the Knight in Shining Armor idea. Image to follow, just let me know what you think of this so far.

Your name is Vir Devoveo and you are perhaps the most unusual troll ever in one particular aspect.

It's not your interests. You enjoy a few video games, have an interest in puzzles, and like to go out on long walks with no particular destination in mind. None of these are truly odd, and would be fairly normal in any troll.

It's not your hive. You live in a large city, on the top floor of an apartment in an average respiblock. You don't live out in the wild or atop a mountain. It's just a simple hive with nothing special about it.

It's not any physical attribute. Your blood is a golden yellow and falls about in the middle class category for the hemospectrum. You are physically in very good shape, but not enough to be abnormal. You just take care of yourself. Your horns are pretty normal, and nothing else stands out. Plain would best describe you.

It's not any kind of mental or special power, because you don't have any. Despite being in the blood range to have them, you have no psychic powers at all, nor the resistance to mental attacks upper bloods have for not having them. You also have no special vision, or any abnormal powers at all.

It's clearly not your Lusus. If you had to make a comparison you would bring up a large Doberman from Earth. Of course you can't make that comparison because you don't know what Earth is. He's a simple minded happy fellow who has been good to you.

No, there is just one thing unusual about you. You care. Perhaps you were hatched with an extra big heart; perhaps you reached a state of mind most trolls miss. Whatever it is, you feel care and compassion for every troll out there. Every troll, every Lusus, every being that is. With the way trolls so often destroy each-other and themselves you wish you could change the world!

It's likely you will be unable to do much, but you don't care. You would not be able to sleep well if you stopped trying to protect everyone you care for with all your being. Because you have to keep doing the right thing, you just have to. It is the very core of your being.

When you grow, you plan to acquire a roll that will let you do this. Some kind of law enforcement, and you'll never let yourself become corrupt! You have been called a fool and an idealist, and you say if this makes you those things so be it. This desire to protect, it's strong and it's real. And so you're going to fight for it.

If it's the last thing you ever do, you’re going to protect everyone. You are going to prove that there is still some good in trolls, that there are still selfless causes worth fighting for, and that there are such things as heroes.
