Easiest way to get me to want to work on a character is to supply a surplus of physical information about them.

This is more than just "Use Gamzee's sprite but give it Feferi's hair." I want to know things like posture, standard facial expression, tooth length, individual articles of clothing, and so on. A basic sprite doesn't give me much - I know jack about what's on the character's arms. Are they wearing a vest? Are their shoulders bare? Short sleeves, long sleeves, rolled sleeves, torn sleeves? Layered clothing? How beefy are they? How angular is their facial structure? Do their horns have the transition style of Tavros, or are they abrupt in their color change like most of the others? Are the horns shiny? What minor facial details do you want? (i.e. cleft chin, nose piercing, whatever.)

And with a glubgrub, I'd also want to know how you want the gills formed and attached. If you look closely at Feferi's, they're more toward the front of her face, whereas Eridan's are back further. They also come in different shapes (I had Clerus's rigid and sharp-looking, Feferi's look kinda shallow, small, and thin, and Eridan's have that little curl to them).

The more detail you give, the easier it is for me to work with it, and the closer the finished product will be to what the troll looks like in your mind.

If I'm forced to freestyle certain details, they'll usually wind up with things I find aesthetically pleasing, and may not necessarily agree with what you want.

EDIT: And I would still need some base image of the troll to work off of, for coloring purposes. Saying a name and not providing a link would force me to sift through over 600 trolls, and I'm not going to do that.

I made a Alterniabound Vathos once but I wound up not really liking it all that much. :\
