This is what happens when I read Problem Sleuth and make absurd connections between in-game items. Like, seriously, what. This is really way too obscure.
From what I've seen, even though trolls don't have much of a concept of sexuality, they do seem to have a concept of gender. Just because of Karkat's statement to Tarvos to "Stop playing games for girls".
However, I also agree that it would probably be easier for a troll to switch gender identities.

I'm just gonna put this here.
Please do not think me insensitive, it's the implied author P:
"Think of puppets" my ass!
I'd comment on the state of things, but I just can't think of any graceful way to say it.
YOU COMMENT ON THAT STATE RIGHT NOW!
When did this thread suddenly get weird?
Not bad weird, just... weird. The gendery stuff started halfway through page 19 and it's been all this thread has talked about since. It's been funny, and I admit the Eridan one was a guilty laugh for me, but where's everything else?
EDIT: Except for that Davey thing with the power cord and the rat. That was hilarious.
There. Told you I couldn't say it gracefully.
Said it well enough though.
The whole Dave/Jade thing reminded me of a PopPlot I had in mind earlier... though that did not involve genital mismatches, thankfully.
Someone posts an evocative fanfic, the thread dwells on it for a little while, people move on. I believe it's happened before, but it's only 'weird' when it makes someone uncomfortable.
I don't think it's that weird. These are topics that weigh pretty heavily on society, even if a majority of society doesn't like to talk about them that much.
@Kawa that was... strangely adorable. I had never even vaguely considered Gamzee/Eridan as plausible but them having a casual thing is pretty cute.
@Bass oh Dave. I hope he'll come round in time! (also your Rose is pretty spot-on, good work)
@Graven *shrug* The conversation's been going on maybe half a day, that's not too long. The tendency of the forum to lock onto certain themes for brief but intense periods of time is well-documented after all, and the gender exploration stuff is evidently something that interests a bunch of us. But if it's boring you there is always the option to post something else.
e: ninja'd by Decker putting things more eloquently. I guess I'll leave this for posterity, w/ever.
@Sionnan just... never stop posting these, okay?

Ninja edit again:
And hell one more edit:
I need a Dave/Jade offspring. Either gender would work, but boy is preferred. Would be concieved just before P12, to be of about the right age.

maybe it's just because I'm a big queermo and have a lot of LGBTQ friends, but this doesn't really strike me as a weird topic P: I've probably posted more than usual purely because this is just a personal area of nerdery for me. Gender roles, sexuality and all that stuff is just interesting and has a huge impact on our lives, and is slowly become more acceptable to talk about. I can't speak for anybody else, but I'm also a sci-fi nerd who likes to explore different values in alien civillisations in fiction. Because I am obviously a very cool person who never got shoved in a locker in school or anything.
Somebody'll probably post something totally different soon and then people'll talk about something totally different.
...I don't get how it's any weirder than most of the other stuff we've talked about here, but okay.
Edit: Unless you were referring to the thing Kawa mentioned in the last post, then yeah, that's a little strange.
/Just read your Biostuck chapters
SO AWESOME 8D
Also, Gamzee as Cohen? I Squeed. Out loud. Cohen is my favourite Bioshock Character, and Gamzee is my favourite troll C8 *smothers with love*
Like I said, not bad weird.
I'm not uncomfortable, I'm just, "Woah. What was that amazing thing that just happened?"
You've had those moments before, right?
Katrika, all of those poems are amazing.
If I get a time machine, I am so going to go back ten years and tell the guys at Asimov's they're mine.
