So I have an idea and no direction to take it in. Help me out.
The setting: Alternia, on a very secluded mountaintop surrounded by hostile environment. The mountain is cut through with a network of caves, out of which have been carved hives. The area is a tight-knit community of rejects, hiding out so that they may avoid culling. The community is composed of undesirables, cripples, mutants, rebels, deposed royalty, and the descendants of such people. Isolated from the rest of their species, they never get drafted into the intergalactic armada, nor do they get visits from the imperial drones. These trolls live, grow old, and die in the same place. The community maintains its numbers via a mutant mother grub, as well as occasional outcasts who find their way there. Without a larger society to impose its ways on them, they act out an exaggerated farce of troll politics and culture, with lots of bickering and hemospectrum-related confusion. The mountain is incredibly tall, and these trolls have become accustomed to navigating ridiculously steep cliffs, with clouds beneath them.
Every Sky Troll is based on a bird, to some degree, and all their lusii can fly. I have six characters designed, and right now they all follow a trolltag pattern: _I, with _ being some other letter. So I suppose there's at least 26 Sky Trolls.
Plot: ??? I want to take them out of their home into a game that isn't Sburb. The current idea is that they'll get whisked away Narnia-style into what I guess is close to a Dwarf Fortress analogue, where they wind up each ruling their own colony of some native creature, building up fortresses and warring with one another. I don't know.
So what I want is ideas, feedback, maybe some help developing that mountain community (because the whole game thing isn't necessary really).
