Well, knowing Homestuck, it goes to that player's server. And then that player's server through the next gate, and so on.

The first gate actually goes to the land's surface. The SECOND leads to another player's land.
Yeah, but considering that Krispin jumped through the first gate and landed in Tyke's land, we pretty much forgot that rule entirely along with the fact that no one has a small land plateau anyways.
I thought I'd give some context for Future!Hippar--
Since we left of with Past!Hippar, she went around the Medium doing your normal SBURB-y stuff. Trying to find the answer to the Ultimate Riddle, killing imps, and so forth. With the held of Fuzzysprite, Hippar's dream self was awakened. Anyways, as she went on, the enemies got harder and harder (imps to ogres to basalisks...) and, during one unfortunate encounter, Fuzzysprite died. Shortly after, Dream!Hippar tried to go explore the rest of the Medium herself (why use one body when you have TWO?)... and got killed.
In the response to the death of her adorable fluffy guide, herself, and the Horrorterrors of dreaming that followed after, Hippar got a bit wacked out. (And if anybody else wants to have any form of their character die, dream self, normal self, or even death for the sake of ascending to GodTier, I'll add that in the list of things that freaked her out.) She went back to assuming that the Medium and all of this was some kind of trap or prison (though not orchestrated by WS, but some other unknown force) and that persuing the Ultimate Riddle and the "reward" was a ruse to get everybody killed. Hippar also decided that since she is the Scout of Life (Fuzzysprite told her this) that it is her job to make sure everybody stays alive.
So she returned to LOBAR, built a giant fortress, and plans to stuff everybody she is sure is not part of the Evil-Force-Trying-To-Kill-Everybody inside the fortress and protect them. This includes other players, dream selves, sprites, and escorts (if Hippar judges them right.) She only trusts herself enough to ever leave the building, to scan the area to make sure nothing is coming to hurt anybody. If she comes across anybody/thing, she forcibly stuffs them into the fortress. She uses her alligator escorts as soldiers to prevent escape. By the way, Hippar isn't sleeping anymore.
I was wondering if anybody would like to have their character (or their character's dreamself, sprite, whatever) locked away in Hippar's "protection?" >8D kukukukukuku
Also, I like how everybody in the future is completly out of their gord! ahahaha
Its like the Trolls all over again! XD Hehehe

Some context for Future!Angom:
He was exploring the Land of Vines and Mirrors when he reached a town. Inside the town, there were some parrots (parrots being Angom's consorts.) He asked them for a tour, and when Angom was walking on the edge of a vine, a parrot accidentally bumped him and knocked him off of the vine. The fall nearly killed Angom, and it damaged his symbiote, which in turn gave him some brain damage. In his addled state, he deduced that the parrot had pushed him off intentionally.
Angom began using his time powers excessively. He gathered a cache of past Angoms to join him in a crusade to kill all of the parrots on the planet, completely ignoring the imps and monsters beginning to take over. Angom also stopped communicating with the other players, giving the impression of his death. He even began to fraternize with the imps and win their allegiance in the elimination of the parrots.
I'm going to have to draw Angom and some parrots now.
