A while back, a cool person made a post with an idea.
An awesome idea.

I thought this was brilliant, then promptly forgot about it.
Cue recent updates, whereupon I had a sudden, bizarre, completely insane idea.
Basically, working off the Hare Force One idea, we find a very, very large, ugly green coat from Goodwill or some such (to help with costs). We mail this article of clothing about the country, and each person adds a new, unique patch to the lapels/elsewhere, thereby generating 'windows' into spacetime.
Each person then takes a picture of themselves declaring that THEY ARE LORD ENGLISH, IT IS THEM. Thereby, EVERYONE IS LORD ENGLISH.
Yes.
Hell yes.
Sadly there was lacking in the area of getting it all together, and it fell into oblivion for a while, but now I have decided to devote more than necessary time on such an idea.
I love this idea, see? So I'm bringing it back from death and his tea and board games, and starting it up... in about two months.
LeviathanPromise and a rad sounding group of awesome people are making the coat.
They have given me an estimated date, due to size and time constraints, of two months or so for the coat.
To some of you this may sound like a long time, but to me I see that that gives us the spring and, most importantly, summer for this project to bud and flourish!
That is a very good time period for such wacky antics! Most people won't have classes, and there are lots of cool cons to go to during the summer months!
So how to play this traveling game is simple!
1. Tell us you want to play here, with a simple estimation (NOT your address!) of your location on earth (sorry, no Alternians or such!)
2. When it comes time for it to go to you, you will give your address to one person and only one person via PM. That person is the person who will be sending it to you.
3. Wash, wear, patch and wash the coat
4. Get the address of one other person and send it to them via the mail
RULES
-Most Important rule!: Do not sign up if you are unreliable. If you do not regularly check your messages and reply to them, we cannot get in touch with you.
-If you are under the age of general consent (a minor), you MUST get parent's permission in order to play.
-Machine wash COLD. COLD WATER ONLY. Twist the knob on the washer and make sure it's COLD. COOOOOOLLLLDDDDD. Dry BY ITSELF in the dryer on a low to medium setting, no super heat.
...COLD. WATER. ONLY.
Also, it would be nice if every few stops (every 3-4) someone could take the time to iron it on a polyester setting.
While not necessary, it'd help ensure the coat lasts looking good.
-add something cool to the coat!
-Don't add something that would be considered offensive, rude, dangerous or lewd. (no hunk rumps in the pockets!)
-Try to keep the coat no longer than one week.
-Write a nice letter to the next person.
-Post here when you get it AND when you are sending it on its way!
-Get a tracking number! it should only cost about 70 cents!
-Don't keep the coat. We will find you. (or at least yell at/ban/infract you here)
-Try not to drop out without more than a week's notice if you must drop out.
This is supposed to be fun, and it will be! Just follow those pretty rules!

If you want to help and collaborate, possibly by keeping this in order and up to date during the shipping, let me know.
we need some serious Midwestern love. 35/35 possible people.
I have been noticing a good number of people across the pond from the U.S. who want to play. Overseas shipping is game ONLY if someone is willing to pay the cost of sending it back and someone to pay the cost of sending it back.
I have no clue how much this will be, but it is a pretty big coat, so it will probably not be a pretty thing to see on a bill for most of you.
once the coat is in a country outside of the US it will stay there until it has reached everyone who wants to and is capable of playing it there.
The final resting place has been pretty much determined to be Hussie's abode, so it HAS to come back.
ABOUT SEWING
I told you all that I would explain how to sew on patches and such, but instead of making a written tutorial of my own, I decided to give you some links that have helped me to understanding sewing and cloth work.
First is a fellow fan of MSPA, Eyes5. I've been a fan of her stuff before I (and maybe even she) knew what mspa was. Definitely before Homestuck. She has made several nice sets of instructions on making various videogame related (mostly Earthbound and Metroid) plushies, but she also made at small article about sewing techniques, which has helped me a lot before. http://www.metroidhat.com/mother/prep.html
I strongly suggest checking out her other stuff on her site, especially her gallery of stuff she made, if you are not familiar with her or her creations.
Next up is a very basic how to article by someone I don't know, but regardless of that it is useful. If you use it in tandem with eyes5's article you should probably be able to get a patch successfully patched. http://www.wikihow.com/Sew-a-Patch-on-a-Uniform
One last link is a small video with a few more helpful tips and some visual processes for those who are completely terrible at this and are just not figuring it out. http://www.ehow.com/video_4988907_sew-patch.html
These should be enough information to get a patch sewn onto the coat by hand, but if you are still lost when the time comes, ask me for some more help. I've done it before and I am in a family of art related people, including a mother who has made entire uniforms and Halloween costumes from scratch, so I should be able to explain it.

A meager contribution, I know, but we ought to represent now that we're getting this show on the road!

Maybe I'll get in on this. Santa Clarita, CA.
This isn't a "yeah I'm certainly going to join" post, it's an "I'm gonna make sure I can do this first" post.
1. Even though I am obviously shit at organizing, I'd still like to participate! I'm in the Boston, MA area, specifically, in Allston.
2. BOSTON FOLKS. there are a shitton of us. Are any of you interested in a possible meetup, either at This place or possibly the BPL, simply because the BPL is kind of amazing.
I'm in! Reno, NV. Also, I'm still willing to ship overseas.

We should totally do that at Bishop Allen drive because I can get there easily and because then I can geek out about Bishop Allen drive because of the band.

Any chance the coat will be ready by March? Because if so, It'd be awesome if it could get to Emerald City ComiCon.
Even though AH won't be there to see it...
