Hi, ok. I wanted to do a forum adventure type story, so here you go!


A little girl stands in the middle of a house in an ISLAND CITY. The sound of waves and seagulls outside mix together and waft in through the window.

Today is this little girl's birthday. Coincidentally, it has not snowed in exactly 8 years, which happens to be this little girl's age. Even more coincidentally, it will snow again today. Our protagonist does not know this yet, but she has a feeling.

What is this little girl's name?

Tuyet means "snow" in Vietnamese, and Mizushima comes from mizu meaning "water" and shima meaning "island" in japanese.

I would give you the hungarian world for Snow, but sadly, it is "Hó", which is very unfortunate...

Plus, I see palm trees out in the garden. That might explain the lack of snow!

You think about doing a snow dance in the hopes of getting school cancelled today, but you don't have to worry about that because you're homeschooled! You move over to the WINDOW, glancing at a CALENDAR OF MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURES that was definitely there before, it definitely didn't conveniently appear there when it was needed. Your mother got you the calendar after the DREAMS started a year ago.

You turn your attention to the view outside the WINDOW, and imagine it's snowing. You name the Snowman WINSTON SNOWHILL. You like to read your father's books sometimes, even if most of the words are too big.

You take a closer look at the SERDAN. In faerie mythology, it is the guide for young faeries trying to find their way back into AVALON, the land of the faeries. It watches over young faeries as they are raised in the HUMAN WORLD until it is time for them to go back home to AVALON.

As you look at the SERDAN, you remember your dream.

The snow falls light against her window, and Elia Fidelis knows that today is the day. For a year now she has dreamt of the first snow. It's black overhead, the buildings around her darkened save for her own house. She steps outside, and the ground lights up under her feet. Laughing, she runs ahead and turns back, watching the footsteps fade slowly into shadows.

Whirling back around, she comes face to face with the Serdan, and she smiles.

Its yellow eyes fix on her, and then it nods its head.

Come, child. Go back inside.

Always telling her to go back inside, but she knows there's more important things to do.

"I'm not a child," she replies. "I'm eight whole years old. I can count to a billion and tie my own shoes without any help, and I know all my times tables."

That may be true, child, but you mustn't linger here.

This strikes Elia as something strange, because she's always been allowed to play outside before.

"Why can't I stay? I want to stay!" She stomps her foot, folds her arms, and waits right there, pouting up at the Serdan with big blue eyes.

When the first snow falls, you can stay.

"But it's snowing now. I don't understand, you're so mean!"

When the snow falls. Have patience, child. You have a little while to go before you must grow up.

She goes back inside, like she's had to do for every night since the dreams began.

Her parents laugh when she tells them it will snow. She gets up every morning and runs to the window, looking out at the tropical palm trees and volcanos in the distance.

"It hasn't snowed here in years, Elia. It won't snow."

But she knows better. All she has to do is wait, and then she can finally go outside and see the Serdan.

A single snowflake hits the window, but goes unnoticed. You flip a page in the calendar.


This is the FAE-FEEDER. It hunts good faeries and gobbles them up for breakfast. You don't like the FAE-FEEDER much.


You've never been quite sure what the BOOF does, but that's ok.
