i have a question. if someone was awake when derse was destroyed, then they should keep their dream selves, right?

i mean, john's dream self disappeared when he woke up, right?

it should be the same for everyone else.

though, i think it was stated that all of their dream selves are dead, now.

I think this issue here deserves some attention. John did indeed just go "poof" or whatnot when he woke up.

Although Dave's dreamself was awake the whole time, even when he was awake.

It is still tangentially possible for Derse dreamers we didn't explicitly see dream-killed to still have their extra lives, but I'm not counting on it. Showing a planet/moon being annihilated by green fire is a handy artistic shorthand for telling you everyone there is dead.

I think John went poof because he was on the battlefield.

Dave, Rose, John and all the trolls are/were on their moons so they got to hang around/sleep while their other self was awake.

Alright, let me see if I follow. If a player isn't sleeping, their dreamselves are in the towers. If they wake up, they poof from wherever they are back to their towers. If the towers are destroyed and they wake up, they poof from wherever they are to the battlefield.

Er... that about right?

e: Nevermind, I follow now. So its something like a mechanism to keep players from being helpless on the battlefield.
