So yeah, here's the next part of that thing I did.

Heartstuck: Part 2

You are the COURT WIZARD for a WISE KING. Since entering the MEDIUM, you have served him with great distinction, alongside the friend who also helped you enter the medium. On this day, you are meeting him to discuss matters of GREAT IMPORTANCE. You stand outside the RIDICULOUSLY MASSIVE DOORS that lead to his throne room. What do you do?

> Knock.

You rapt smartly on the RIDICULOUSLY MASSIVE DOORS. A tiny, regular-door-sized section of the door swings forward, granting you entrance.

> Enter.

You enter a RIDICULOUSLY MASSIVE HALL. Seriously, this thing is so ridiculously huge it makes the door look puny. You can't even see all the way to the other end, where the WISE KING sits upon his throne.

Halfway to the throne, you notice it is UNOCCUPIED! However, it appears that your PLUTOSPRITE is hiding behind the throne. What is that silly not-really-a-dog-anymore up to?

> Inspect PLUTOSPRITE.

He appears to be holding a letter marked with the WISE KING's seal.

> Take and read letter.

You read the letter. It's contents are most alarming.

> Flip the fuck out.

You proceed to flip the fuck out. This is complete insanity. You should probably go inform your friend. You should also we careful to avoid the WISE QUEEN, who would worry to no end if she knew the contents of the letter.

> Quietly find friend.

You barge through the castles hallways, quacking as loudly as you can while waddling faster then ought to be physically possible.

After making a complete fool of yourself, you find your friend sleeping in the castle gardens. As usual.

> Wake friend.

He's out like a light! You'll probably just have to wait until he wakes up on his own.

> Zap friend with magic.

Remembering that you are the COURT WIZARD, you summon a bolt of lightning to wake him. Luckily for you, it doesn't fry him to a crisp as well.

goinQuackers [GS] began pestering hyuckHyuck[HH].
[HH]: uh, hey thar, Donald, g'mornin!
[GS]: WE'VE GOT A PROBLEM, GOOFY!

So Les Homestuckerables is fun, and now I want to Homestuckify "I Dreamed a Dream." But I find myself indecisive about who should be Fantine.

So I'm putting it to a vote. Jadesprite whining about the destruction of Prospit and her own death; or Eridan whining about Feferi leaving him?

Jadesprite fits the "dream" aspect better since she literally dreamed a dream that is now destroyed; but Eridan fits the "lost relationship/lost hope" aspect better.

@Beep: I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, those two really could have been in either, but with Sollux, the hat put him in Gryffindor to encourage him to be less, well, emo and actually become a powerful person on his own. Aradia just sort of ended up in Ravenclaw as a result. xD

@sebastian: Hehe, that was one of my favorite parts as well. I'll be honest, one of my main reasons for putting Terezi in Slytherin was for her to give them JUDG3M3NT.

Heartstuck: Still loving this. All the chumhandle names are clever, as is the way you're incorporating things. I'm really looking forward to seeing where you go with this! And it's fine with me if Kairi has a larger role. I just hope it isn't being saved every five seconds. One of the few things about the games that I disliked was Kairi's constant damsel in distress status. >>

@dA: Alright then? Honestly, he's only emo half the time cause of his bipolar highs and lows. He's easily one of the smartest trolls, and I always thought of Aradia as the adventurer/courageous/raaage one. KK and John being in Hufflepuff is amazing though. Also, I agree on Vriska, Eridan, Gamzee, Terezi, Nepeta, Rose, and Equius. I think Jade is more of a Hufflepuff or a Griffindor than a Ravenclaw, but whatever. I like your fic and if these choices really end up annoying me (unlikely) then I'll just write my own thing. :33

@draconicalgorithm: I suppose you already thought about it, but from the little I know of Harry Potter (mostly by cultural osmosis) I suppose that Tavros and Hagrid should get along pretty well. They seems to have have a similar personality and a shared affinity with animals, even dangerous ones.

@sebastion: Indeed I have. We'll have more Tavros and Hagrid interactions at some point. After the beginning, which is just really setting the stage, the rest of this is just going to be short stand alone fics focusing on various characters and various things that happen to them.

Speaking of which, if anyone would like to suggest scenarios they'd like to see, you're welcome to. I've got a growing list of brainstormed ideas, and I'm more than willing to add to it.

Hehehe, I may do ECaET after IDaD, because I too am a bit emotionally masochistic. Also, Eridan as Susan Boyle is hilarious. I think I will mention that over in fanart and see what happens. And I definitely want to see your Who 8m I!

I was also thinking Clubs Deuce as Gavroche...

Edit: i dreamed a dream is now in progress. Hoping to have it up sometime tonight, but I tend to be excessively perfectionistic so who knows.

Edit 2: Also, I am going to make a Vriska version of "Macavity" from Cats. It will be called "The Spider8itch."

If there's one thing I will never do in writing if I don't absolutely have to, it's make a Damsel in Distress. My idea for Kairi is that she'll be more like how Aqua was in Birth by Sleep. That is to say, completely badass.

It's a weird kind of story I wrote this time. EDIT: The main character is nobody in particular. An AFGNCAAP.

Running

I run as fast as I can, ignoring the scream of my muscles. The ground beneath me is hard and for the most part flat, with no tree roots or rocks for me to trip over. That’s good. Less good is the lack of cover, the open plain making it all too obvious where I am. It doesn’t matter. They’d find me anyway. All I can do is delay it, and suck each breath into my lungs, and I can’t even savor them knowing they might be my last breath, because oh god I have to keep running.

One of them leaps at me, a blur of scales and teeth, and I just manage to duck in time. I keep running, and there’s a yelp of pain behind me, and this ripping sound. Maybe it landed wrong and got hurt on that jump. Maybe the other ones are ripping it apart. I can’t turn around to look, that’d be certain death, and anyway, I don’t have time to tune out and think about it right now, because I have to keep running.

I think I remember someone telling me once that when you know you’re going to die, you end up thinking about all sorts of stupid shit. I’m pretty sure I laughed about it then, because how can you know what a dead person thought before they died? They’re dead. She just looked at me really seriously, all long curling hair and big curling horns. I guess she was right, since I’m thinking about it right now. I wish I could tell someone what happened to me before the end.

I wish there was someone who’d care.

Shit, there’s nowhere to go except for THERE. I can’t turn around, and I can’t walk through the cliff on my right or swim across the river on my left. They’ve been herding me, and I didn’t even fucking notice. Not that it really matters where I die in the long run, but I don’t want to die there, not where-

I see it now, the glint and glitter of the ocean, softly crashing against the beach. It’d be goddamn soothing if it wasn’t a dead end, and if it weren’t for the dark yellow stain in the sand.

Fuck. Fuck! Why here? Why here?! Is this some sort of cruel fucking joke? Is it?! Is there some, some, god just laughing it up at the fact that I’m going to die at the place where that slurrysucking arrogant purpleblood with the stupidass harpoon killed my own damn lusus? It hasn’t even been a full fucking week, and I thought I could hold out without him, but I guess I never really realized how much that big doofus kept the wildlife off me, and I swear to god I can FEEL their breath behind me, and I miss him so much, and I have to keep running.

But that’s the catch, isn’t it? There’s nowhere to run.

I’ve never been much of a swimmer. Hell, I’ve never been much of a fighter, or a runner, or a thinker, or really fucking anything. The thing I’m worst at has always been giving up, though, so I wade out into the surf, and the salt and acidicy slap into my wounds, and my shoes get soaked instantly and they’re too clumsy to move with, and I fall.

It’s kind of peaceful here.

The pink moon is just rising, and the night is tinged with a rosy gilt. The stars are so bright, and I’m so tired. A meteor streaks across the sky, then another. I think I’ll sleep here. Such pretty yellow sand. It’s so nice to finally get a rest, I can’t even feel the teeth until they rip into my thro
