I can't speak for EN, but my reason was that it seems that the trolls have a specific set of symbols that are associated with castes, so they would also likely be the same blood colors as the canon trolls (except for Karkat's symbol, where that fits is anyone's guess). Presumably these two are just in the same caste as Aradia, and thus have the same symbol

Not quite what I meant, I meant each blood color has several symbols (thus why my WIPS do not have Leo or Saggitarius symbols). This guy just happens to have the same one Aradia does.

Considering a pretty large number of TROLLSLUM members consists of painfully-blatant Mary Sues as far as the hemospectrum is concerned (anyone with a caste higher than Feferi, anyone with a color that flat out doesn't exist on the spectrum), I don't think the Symbol thing is so huge of a deal.

That being said, the Symbols are NOT the only symbol for said color, they are instead one symbol of many, each caste having their own symbol pool. Two trolls sharing the same symbol is not an impossible situation, but it is a very very unlikely one.
