anyway, with the advent of the fact that all my trolls have been rendered non-canon, I'm not sure if I'll participate in the next thread, besides a few compliments or feedback posts. If inspiration happens to hit me, perhaps I'll make a new fitting-with-canon troll. But right now I'm just :I facing all over the place because of the revelation that trolls share blood colors with many others, all have the same horns as those in their caste and the same symbol ;_;

Okay, first off, we're talking about Roleplaying as Trolls, often involving SGRUB Sessions. Last I checked, the 12 Trolls played the first and only Session, every other troll on the planet (and later the universe due to Vast Glub) died. You really don't need to care about canon because the entire basis of fantroll sessions flies in its face entirely.

Second, I think you're really, really misinterpreting this whole ancestral and caste symbols thing. Please take note:

AG: A sign is an insignia we must wear, specific to our class. Each class has a huge alpha8et of signs, so when someone shares yours, you know you have a lot in common. I was so excited to see it.

Going by canonically-stated caste lore, this does NOT indicate that all Indigo-Bloods use the Capricorn sign, but rather that all Capricorns must be Indigo-Blooded.

All trolls in a particular caste DO NOT share the same Symbol. All trolls in a particular caste DO NOT have identical horns.

Homestuck's canon is fairly flexible, because unlike authors like Tolkien, Andrew doesn't go into absurd detail about stuff that doesn't relate explicitly to the story. He never seems to weigh in on troll anatomy questions, in particular, because (1) why take the fun out of speculation, debate, and trollplay? and (2) he probably doesn't know the answers himself. I've always gotten the sense from his formspring that if it's not plot-relevant (or hilarious), he doesn't really bother writing it all down or establishing facts that will never really relate to the story.
