Ahahaha, disregard that, I suck bananas.
Tinychum is discontinued and my irc server is down, which renders the program useless.

Ok here goes.

Having perused the readme carefully I can't seem to find a way to change my text color beyond the basic text entry ones (red, green, dark grey, etc.). Every time I enter either an RGB color value or a hexadecimal entry, it spits out black. Always.

I went into the pesterchum.cfg and saw the entry

color: -16777216

which means absolutely nothing to me. I'd fiddle with it but I'm not sure what to put in there.

Also, is the cue for the hexadecimal codes right? Whenever i tried to enter a hexadecimal in the style of

/color #FFCC00

it would not accept the code when i hit Enter. Only when I did it as

/color FFCC00

or whatever would the command actually run (invariably giving me black regardless of code input). Is the number sign actually supposed to be there as the readme implies?

I was able to make RGB work just fine in Tinychum 1.5b2, for whatever it's worth.

Hmmm, it should work wit hex codes... I'll look into it.
Why it gives you black? Because it defaults to black when it can't recognize your color code.
As for RGB format, try this:
/color R,G,B
as in:
/color 255,0,0
would give red
I'm not sure what I messed up there right now, haven't got the source with me right now but I'll look into it when I'm home.
The code in the config file is a Java Color Hash. You shouldn't mess with that right now, but I'll see about changing it into a readable format.

Alright Shinmera, thanks a lot. Putting commas instead of spaces in there for RGB seems to have totally done the trick. You might like to add that to the Readme... or be more explicit about the TC: COLOR trick to open a color picker window, which also had to be explained to me by someone and wasn't obvious from the Readme.

But that aside this is amazing as usual. Great work.

Ah yes, I should also change that in the help command list. Silly me, I forgot.

ok, then...
have you tried running it with the run file?
have you tried doubleclicking the jar file?
is your java up to date?

uHHH, let's see what we can do...
First thing to try is:
Open up the run.cmd with notepad and change the line to:
java -jar -cp .;./lib/pircbot.jar;./lib/NexT.jar;./modules;./data; TinyChum.jar
Save it and run the run.cmd

If that doesn't work, try this:
Open the jar file with winrar or a similar unpacking program and extract all the files to the TC folder.
Next, open up the run.cmd with notepad and change the line to:
java -cp .;./lib/pircbot.jar;./lib/NexT.jar;./modules;./data; TinyChum/TinyChum
save it and run the run.cmd

No, that'll be TC3.
The new thing about TC1.5 is basically color tags and memos.

hey, when i open it up, and try to enter a chumhandle, it doesn't go through. More specifically, the chumhandle just stays there, nothing else shows up. not even the "waiting for handle..." text.
I'm running it on Vista
i have 2 gb of ram
i downloaded the 1.5 version
When i ran it using the run.cmd file, this was the text in the run box:

Do I need to download some sort of server for it? If so, and thats the only problem, sorry, could you link it to me?

No, there's no need for any extra software other than TC and Java.
Did you hit enter after typing in the chum handle?

Yeah, and it won't go through for me. i unzipped it into its own folder on the desktop. i type my desired handle in, and it wont go through. i can press enter on regular stuff, like here, or word, or even in games... should I re download it?

hmm, seems really odd to me. OH! I know, make sure that the handle abides by the handle rules:
1)only one uppercase letter allowed
2)no numbers or otherwise special characters
3)it has to be shorter than 30 characters

Eh, I'd rather call myself stupid for not explaining that beforehand in the readme, but I'm glad it wasn't any programming related problem.
