Favorite Adventures & Fanart 3: Magic Artmaker

    (Awesome image by Yourself!)

This is the thread for telling us about your favorite adventures, and drawing fanart for them! So... go and do that!

...wait, this is only the third thread after nearly two years of this subforum's existence? This must be remedied! WE NEED MORE FANART!

More detailed stuff to come if requested. For now, have a list of adventure-based titles from the previous thread!

    -Crystal Fave
    -Well-readbeat
    -Vogue and Interesting Adventures
    -Take a Glance
-[I] Saw [an] MSPA (this one was up for a ridiculously long time)
    -fanart.execute
-Buff McAuthor and the Helpful Fanartists
    -A Pun on Eddie
    -Fanart Adventure-Breath
    -Fanart Club Adventures
-A Beginner's Guide to the Best of the Universe
    -Fanartist Bimbo Drawing Remix

And the list for this thread, which will grow as the mods and I mess with its title:
    -Peerless
    -Artworks
    -Fanart of Domination
-(You Are) About 10 Seconds Away From Adoration By Fanart Squad
-Turning Fanart Into Slightly Better Fanart
-You Have To Extol The Sun
    -Almost a Classic
    -Legend of the Honored
    -Scorched Art
    -Dastardly Criminal Fanart In Space
    -Robots Can't Be Artists
    -Adventures Aren't For Children
    -DRAW SIX BILLION PICTURES
    -Magic Artmaker

Now get out there and fanart! Or tell us about that great adventure you just read, that works too.

Let's start things off right. Here's some fanart for PXL.

Also, to encourage a fruitful fanart future, enjoy this fanart for an adventure that doesn't exist yet. MAN BURGER!

Yeah... I'll get back to my own adventures now.

I talked with Ed between him claiming dibs and me starting this thread, he's okay with it.

    Ahh, okay.

I'd love to draw up something for the shiny new thread,
but I used what little creativity I had left drawing those other fanarts all day.

Re: Favorite Adventures and Fanart Three: Peerless

I drew a bunch of shitty fanart for some reason so I'll just post 'em all here.

First here's a ridiculously large and shitty fanart. I thought a background would make things better. It didn't.

    Supplementary to one above:

    Also this:

And then I think I drew this next possibly

    Bandages are not fun:

I got extremely lazy by the end can you tell.

That reminds me actually I drew this a while ago

And then I just forgot about it.

It's really hard to understand what's going on in this picture.

Re: Favorite Adventures and Fanart Three: Peerless

People say not to judge a book by its cover, but I do.
I totally do. It's slightly different with forumventures, though.
    There's just an extra step.
For manga (I rarely go out to buy non-graphic novels...), there are 3 steps:
1 - Look at the cover. Is it a cool style? What's going on?
2 - Check the summary. Is it an interesting story?
3 - Look at several pages. Is the style consistent? Did the summary seem to do an okay job?
Then I'll ponder it a while and decide if I want to read the whole thing.

For here, however, I have to add a step to the beginning.
The title. I mostly like one-word titles; BLANK, Somniloquence, Starfall, etc.
But there are exceptions such as Oviparous Chronometer because, I mean, that's just an awesome title. 8D
There are others I randomly decided to check out and happened to like.

As for the styles I like... they're pretty varied.
If long as it looks good, chances are I'll like it.

(When I first happened upon HomeStuck, I thought it looked kinda dumb...
I'm pretty sure it was a few months before I came across it again and decided to read it.)

Thanks for the image addition guys .

Also, I added a few more friends to the Sminly chain:

Also, people should definitely check out the last Fan-Art thread. Since it was one year old starting on this date, people made a MAD RUSH of art to get to 100 posts. There's some awesome stuff in there.

So are Trapped in Beta and King Sim (Although this one can be rather slow).
I got these recommended to me. I like them and I'm following them as adventures now. I also checked out Line of Equality and Avalon of my own accord. I read Roomland what seems like a long time ago now, and I read Corgi Adventures recently.

I also read Housetrapped and Homestesque, both of which are awesome, and I'm trying to get into Nepetaquest and A Complete Waste of Time. Outside of the whole Homestuck-formulaic stuff though...

Sad to say there are still a lot that seem well-known that I haven't been reading up on, so I should probably join the bandwagon. Memoria, Blank and Cordless seem intriguing to me, among others. I also wanted to do fanart for my bro Perpetually Confused's Palavra, but he wants me to wait until more interesting stuff happens, so that's what I'm doing. But I really wanna draw for some of these adventures now.

And then I realize I have an update to make for my own. PCHOOOOO!

I tried to draw this to help fill up the last thread, but ended up taking hours and hours on it whoooops.

(It's Mist from GODQUEST, which is an absolutely phenomenal adventure that has a very well-developed cast and story!)

Something I can always appreciate in an adventure is "less is more." Don't give me textwalls on your first posts, just describe only what's going on and let the pictures do the talking. I like theorizing and questioning, showing over telling.

I've found, too, that purposefully withholding details that could be mentioned but not necessarily need to be mentioned could actually make the subject in question become a twist later, when it needed to be mentioned. In my own adventure, people weren't expecting things I thought were obvious details or throwaway descriptions. It was pretty shocking and really pleasing to see!

EDIT: holy shit ninja'd by fanart for my own thing! by dapperpixel! holy shit I am freaking out!

That, and the joy of seeing suggesters rampantly theorize about things to which I already know the answer.

Man, I've been missing out on these threads. I guess I'll dump some old doodles I've had kicking around.

    Cordless

    Starfall

    Godquest

    Edit:
Also, everybody go read BLANK if you haven't already!

    I'm totally okay with this.

And thanks for the compliments. Everybody's characters are so fun to draw!
(Also, thanks for saying that was Waterworks.... I was wondering what that was. I'll have to check it out sometime!)

People keep making fanart for things I've never read before and it is disconcerting to me. It just makes me feel like an old fogey again.

...I have adventures to update too....
