Well this is strictly my opinion, but I think ice trolls/trolls living in the ice are a bit over done. I'd be looking for trolls who live in/on/around volcanos but I have odd interests.

If there's anything that is overdone, I'd dare to say that a) lowbloods that openly rebel against the hemospectrum, and b) highbloods that think the hemospectrum is dumb, both fit the bill.

I say this while having one of each. Is it hypocrisy, or just being aware of the trends? :0

Now, something I've not done that I feel I see too often? The "mutant red" blood.


As for something that I'd like to see more often...

Space pirates. Gambling debts. Lawmen/women. Noir. Prohibition-era clothing (hey, a guy can dream). Viciousness that isn't a result of insanity.

That's all that's coming to mind at the moment, hope that was at least a little helpful. It's high time I hit the sack.

What Panzer said. A vast majority of fantrolls, I've noticed, openly disrespect or are stated not to believe in the spectrum. While that might be true for the canon 12 trolls (save for equius and eridan/gamzee), the fact of the matter is that the troll's culture revolves around the spectrum. Way more trolls would follow it rather than rebel.

Hmm... any other trends? Can't think of any off the top of my head. There's a tendency to make very sweet and friendly trolls that wouldn't hurt a fly, which... er... I mean, that's good for human characters but not for trolls. Even Nepeta and Feferi are killers; they have to be to survive in Alternia. Trolls are bloodthirsty by default, so pacifist/defenseless trolls kind of make me confused.

To be fair, I only made my openly rebelling troll because the idea of a communist troll was hilarious to me. I fully expect him to be smacked down if I bring him into any RP ever.

Also, what I was thinking is maybe a reason for all these mutant red-blood trolls? Maybe someone keeps saving them or something? Or maybe a troll that hides or changes their blood colour for a reason more petty than simply not wanting to be culled? Or even a troll with a psychic ability that isn't massively beneficial to them? We have a ton of trolls with like telekinesis and mind control and stuff, so why not one who has the power to make themself fall asleep completely by accident?

Well after reading that I'm quite proud of my trolls.

They're all either assholes, badasses, psychopaths or I fully expect them to die a lot.

((Although I feel like an idiot for making Menusa not know what her own blood is. I'll find some way to explain that later I guess.))

My own mutant, Hanilb, basically hates himself because of his mutated blood and is constantly carrying out his "plan" in a desperate attempt to make himself worth something.

That's what mutated blood should do to your troll's psyche (although not as extreme as that I guess). I'm annoyed by mutated trolls who make their blood color public or simply don't care about it. Even Karkat hates his blood, and he doesn't give a crap about the hemospectrum.

My only mutantblood, Makaep, doesn't even acknowledge that she's a mutantblood. She's kind of in denial about it, and would probably never reveal it to anyone. She can't accept it and instead actually puts food coloring in it or something similar whenever she bleeds just so she can pretend to be another bloodcolor. That's pretty much her whole 'thing'. Trying to be something she's not, and being fake in every way possible.

Speaking as someone with two pink-blooded trolls, go for it. As long as you can come up with a half-decent excuse, it's all good.

My only worry is that my own theories may clash with where others believe their pinkbloods are ranked on the hemospectrum. There are different shades, I know, but it's a blurry color because it's a bit between the lowest and highest known colors..

I think all but one of my trolls is perfectly capable of killing. Well, half of one. Mespeh wouldn't harm a fly, but her brother would bathe a battlefield in the blood of his opposers.

And Mespeh would just tell him how rude that is
