After Kanaya acquired a hole through the chest i decided i had to cool the hell down on my Homestuck addiction - i was getting too emotionally attached and took it very badly.

So i took a timeout of - you guessed it - 612 hours, and what do i come back to? This. One of my favourite trolls alive (sort of) and kicking. Reading a bit less regularly works wonders.

Other highlights: the incredible holding capacity of wallets. The ultimate shipping wall. Double corpsesmooch combo. And Vriska became a moderately interesting character instead of an overgrown ego. Only one thing was really unforgivably bad: No Trickster Mode In Equius' Walkaround! BlAsPhEmY!

The term you're looking for is probably deus ex machina, and the reason it feels weird to you is that it's bending your suspension of disbelief.

There are three ways of going from here.

1. Readjust your suspension of disbelief. Yours may be fashioned from rubber, but in the comic the universe is a frog, so rubber might not be elastic enough.
2. Assume trolls are like deer in some regards, in that when being actively nocturnal, having the equivalent of a headlight rush at you is positively paralyzing and WTF OH GOG.
3. Just roll with it and see where it goes, then reconsider in a week's time.

me and penguin had a fixing war 2 or 3 threads ago about why kanaya was glowing a.k.a. sweating a.k.a. aroused in the flash. it ended with her finding a mention of karkats' HOT AS FUCK ancestor in mindfangs journa i.e. he was so sexy that merely the passing mention of him in a pirate slash journal was enough to arouse women (and also dualscar for some reason). i just sort of ran with it from there. i bolded it and put it in red everytime because it was funny.
