Tavros would probably have Salamence (Bagon/Shellgon always wanted to fly, but couldn't),Tornelos (Page of Breath and all), Buffalon, Tauros, Celebi (maybe, for the fairy deal?), and... Maybe a Rapidash. Called Horsaroni.

Alive!Aradia - Claydol, Kabutops, Omastar, Aerodactyl, Unown, Rampardos (Fossil and ruin pokemon. Maybe the Regis, as well?)

Kanaya - Gardevoir, Beautifly (It drinks blood, and represents her lusus), Meloetta, Bellossom, Doredia, Solrock

Sollux - Vespiquen, Beedrill (BEETH), Ambipom, Doduo, Jiheddo.

... I did actually name a whole load of my Pokémon after Homestuck chars. Gb'Golyb was my Kyogre, Feferi was my Palkia, Eridan was my Dialga... this was back when they were just moirails, not... murder...ers/ees.

But yeah, Scizor is reminiscent of Crabdad.

... IDE/Theory - the Felt act as the gym leaders, with the four most useful as the elite four, and the Champion is Doc Scratch.
The other three... eh, I dunno. Lord English could, perhaps, be a Red/Steven style post-game boss.

So let's have a quick story in here, shall we?

Lowas town's quiet morning was interrupted by a piercing shriek of profanity. It nothing new really, but this time instead of a piercing shriek of profainity aimed at nothing in particular, it was a shriek of profanity aimed specifically at low quality alarm clocks.

"FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!"

But Karkat's screaming wasn't going to do anything, apart from annoying the neighbors, but screw those assholes, what did he care for them? He'd never really like Lowas town in the first place, with its stupid if pleasant people and even stupider if a little threatening pokemon. Whoever thought it was a good idea to build a town next to a swamp needed to be hit in the head repeatedly, preferably with a metagross' arm.

He had slept in today, of all days. Karkat had dreamed of the day he'd finally be able to leave this god forsaken place, but now he might not be able to do that if he didn't get to Professor Harley's lab in time.

"Hey, isn't technology awesome?" An overweight jackass jumped in front of him, a video game console in hand. "You can now send messages to people on the other side of the-"

"Stop raving about technology for girls you faggot!" Karkat really didn't have time for fat tech guy's bullshit. He pushed the idiot aside and rushed into Professor Harley's lab.

"Ah, Karkat. Just in time!" Professor Harley was a tall, proud gentleman who looked more like a hunter than a world-renowned expert in pokemon. He was both actually, travelling into the most dangerous regions of the world in his search for rare pokemon. These days he was content with teaching a new generation of trainers, though it was hard to resist the thrill of facing down a Salamence with your bare hands and a confused Bibarel.

"Yeah, whatever you old fart. Are there still any pokemon left!?"

"As a matter of fact there is, my boy." Professor Harley stepped aside, revealing a platform where a single pokeball lied on top. "One more left, just for you."

Karkat greedily grabbed the pokeball. This was it. He'd dreamed of finally getting his own pokemon, of finally being able to leave this town and make a name for himself. With this first pokemon he was taking the first step towards being the champion. Then he'll show that jackass Dave who was the best. He'll show them all. He pressed the button on the pokeball, threw it on the floor and released his new pokemon.

It was...a disappointment. Instead of the mighty, reliable and above all leaderly pokemon that he knew he was destined to use, he got a blue otter with a vaguely phallic shell on its chest.

"Oshawott!"

"What."

"Wott!"

"What."

"Wott!"

"What."

The Oshawott cautiously walked towards its new master, who was trying not to froth with rage. When Oshawott gently tugged on Karkat's pants leg, Karkat kicked it away. It cried, and ran to Professor Harley, and hid behind his leg.

"My boy, you shouldn't kick your pokemon!"

"What the fuck, Professor Harley. What the fuck."

"The price of not waking up early, I'm afraid. But I'm sure you'll grow on Oshawott eventually."

Karkat fell to his knees, his left eye twitching. "Gogdamn it."

I think rather than have anything "canon", since there are so many possibilities and preferences, this should simply be a free for all type AU where the universe setting is the only thing consistent (ie, whatever the pokemon universe would be >_>) It'll also make it so people don't have to keep up diligently with all the stories to make sure they don't have conflicts XD;

A few more random suggestions I don't think I saw on a quick skim.

Dave: A Honchkrow. The 6 magikarp idea is great but just think about this one a bit. He's always being bugged by all these goddamn Murkrows and then one day he manages to accidentally catch one and it's just a huge pain in the ass but he can't get rid of it. But then he evolves it and suddenly it goes from this brainless feathery asshole to a chill, styling, badass bird (caw caw motherfuckers)

Vriska: A Clefairy. It may not seem like it fits too much at first but the god tiers do have that whole fairly look going but the main factor here is it's signature move, Metronome. Probably the closest attack you'll find to the Fluorite Octet, you just know Vriksa would be all over that, always happening to Metronome up the right move for the situation.

Sollux: A pair of Basculine, one blue one red, because come on you gotta have a matching pair with those colours for Sollux and well Basculine was pretty much the only pokemon I could think of that does that. Also perhaps an Absol to go with the whole doom prophesies thing (Absols forsee great disasters, they try to go to them to give warnings but are then mistaken as the harbingers of the disaster instead).


Oh and about the idea of making a game of some sort that came up somewhere. Honestly depending on exactly what you want to do a hack of an actual pokemon game could probably be an easier option. A lot of it's fairly simple stuff. I've seen a person with zero experience pick it up and pump out a very basic hack in a week. Things do get a bit more complicated when you start including stuff sprite changes and extensive remapping (which I imagine you probably would want to do) but even so I imagine such a thing could be a somewhat feasible project as long as things don't get too complicated.

I don't even know what kinda of animal that's meant to be, I always sorta assumed it was just meant to be a made up mammaly thing. I was just thinking Sollux for the whole connection with the forseeing disasters and prophesies of doom thing.

Oh and I knew I forgot one in my last post. Kanaya: Nidoqueen. Strange fact, Nidoqueen is (one of) the only only pokemon that can't breed that isn't a legendary and has gender. It's pre-evolutions can, Nidoking can but Nidoqueen can't. A nice fit for the Virgo I'd say.

And I am partial to a lot of the ideas here so far for Dave, like having a murkrow. I'm not super fond of the idea of cheaping him out of having some decent lineups for magikarp hilarity. Also on re: legendaries, I dunno what I think on that, but Dave needs some association with celebi either way, be it some relevance better conveyed through fic-writing, or one actually being on his team.
