==>Mars: Accidentally paralyze your trainer with your static.
Oh fuck you did.
==> Stop being the paralyzed duo being attacked by a feathery asshole.
You are now Jade Harley. You have been training a fearow that your friend Dave Strider- Sooooo cooooooool!- traded you, as well as the arcanine he traded for your snivy, but unfortunately the fearow went off to attack something and you haven't seen him since! You've been searching everywhere, but you just can't find him!
==> Call Dave on the pokegear
Oh right! You do so.
==>Dave: Pick up.
Oh my gog what could she want now? You're friends and all but she calls way to often.
PHONELOG between DAVE STRIDER and JADE HARLEY
DS: hello
JH: hi dave!
DS: what is it?
JH: oh, well, you see, the fearow you traded me flew off and now i can't find him
DS: i did tell you he was a feathery asshole
DS: i also told you that he wouldnt listen until you got the second badge
JH: oh nooooo
DS: do you need help
JH: yes
JH: oh! i think i heard something! i'm near the end of route 1, okay?
DS: yeah
DS: i guess ill meet you there then
JH: uh huh! bye!
Sighing, Dave stuffed the pokegear into his pocket and grabbed his bike, which was leaning against the wall.
==> Dave: Be Aradia
You are now Aradia and you are not happy. You are paralyzed and a fearow is trying to kill you. You are pretty lucky that the fearow isn't a very good flier in foresty areas. At the moment, you can move, but you do not know when paralysis will kick in again.
==> Aradia: Hightail it out of there!
You run while you can, but the static runs across your skin, and you fall.
Aradia glanced up out of the corner of her eye. Well now, this was an awful situation to be in, wasn't it? Mars followed her gaze and bleated.
"Bec, go!"
Some sort of canine pokemon- Aradia couldn't tell which- leaped over Aradia and tackled the fearow.
"Alright you feathery asshole, lets get you back in the pokeball."
Someone- a girl, with bright green eyes and long black hair, propped Aradia up. "You okay? Oh, you're paralyzed- did your mareep do that? Here, hold still..."
Like I can move right now. Aradia thought.
The other, a boy, threw the pokeball once the girl handed it to him. The fearow squawked as it was forced to return. The boy handed the girl the pokeball as the girl injected Aradia with a Paralyze Heal.
"This isn't turning out to be my day..." Aradia muttered. "Thank you, both."
"No problem! I'm Jade! And this is Dave!" the girl smiled.
"Sup."
Aradia stood up, and placed Mars on the ground. Dave smirked some, and Jade smiled even more.
==> Be someone else.
Okay.
==> Hey... isn't that Jack Noir? Be him!
You are now Jack Noir, also known as Spades Slick. You started up Derse Corp with your allies and, dare you say it, friends. After that, you left, and vanished. Droog has done a good job running the show, anyway. But something is up. Team English- which means Snowman- is up to something big. They got their irons in all the fires. All of them.
==> Walk down the city street in a hard boiled fashion.
You already are. Tipping your hat in an even more hard boiled fashion, you continue walking. You have plans for this world, and you aren't going to let Snowman and her gang ruin any of it. But first, you have to make a call.... You dial up Hearts Boxcars.
==> Be Snowman
You cannot be Snowman. She is flattered that you want to be her though. She supposes you can watch her for a bit. Its not like it's going to make sense yet.
==>
Snowman walks down the dark hall, shrugging on her coat.
"Ma'am." Number seven- Crowbar- nods in greeting.
"Hello, Crowbar. I presume you have a report?"
"As much as I love seeing you for no reason, thats why I'm here." He is completely sincere.
"Let's hear it then. Walk with me." She beckons him to follow with a wave of her fingers.
As they walk, Crowbar takes out a clip board and a folder.
"Droog is aware of our actions, and is actively trying to stop our minions. Sleuth is on the trail of Makara,"
"Go on."
"Noir has been sighted again."
Snowman stops. It's been so long... "Why is he popping up again...?" she is quiet, but venomous.
"Hell if I know. We have someone on his trail as we speak."
"Good." Snowman begins walking again, a faster pace than before.
"A young trainer by the name of Terezi Pyrope has been given the egg- or rather, she stole it."
"A mere slip of a girl...? Get it. It's vital to our plans."
They stop at a door. A glowing green light is peering from the cracks. Snowman throws the doors open, and they are greeted with a roar.
I dont expect them to actually succeed with Terezi.
I'll update Karkat's story later. For now, here's a tentative region map I made:
Towns:
1.)Losaw town: Small village next to a swamp.
2.)Lolar City: A beachside city famous for its resorts.
3.)Lohac Forge town: A vital forge owned by Derse Corp., located near a dead volcano that produces many goods for the region. Has a gym.
4.) Lofaf town: Located in a higher elevation than most towns, Lofaf is a cold town that's the entrance to Scratch Valley.
5.) Lomat town: A festive town located just outside scratch valley. Has a gym.
6.) Lopah city: The busiest city in the region, and home to Derse Corp. Has a gym.
7.) Attelas City: Largest city in the region. Location of the famous Prosperity Spire, headquarters of Prosperity Initiative. Has a gym
8.) Neuria Village: A peaceful town in the middle of a forest.
9.) Catleya town: The final stop before the pokemon league. Has a gym.
10.) Pokemon League
11.) Loqam town: A distant and isolated village. Has a gym.
12.) Lodag city: An island city. Has a gym.
Other Locations:
A.) Great swamp: A swamp containing many poison types.
B.) Scratch Valley: A Dangerous valley. Many powerful pokemon live here.
D.) Mount Lowaa: Tallest mountain in Alternia
J.) The Paradox Zone: People are restricted from entering this area, as the deeper you go the more distorted time and space become.
I left out a lot of things for people to flesh out their stories and whatnot. Also I based the map on an upside-down washington state.
God I can't stay mad at Noir.
He's just.
He's like when a tiny puppy murders a squirrel and brings the corpse into your house as a present to you and it's wagging its tail and is SO PROUD of itself.
Then it goes into your house, tears your couch apart, and shits on all of your carpets.
I just realized, all the fics thus far posted seem to have the kids rather than the trolls as the slightly more experienced trainers. As in a reverse of canon!Homestuck.
John: Swablu
Rose: Kirlia
Dave: Blaziken
Jade: Chikorita
Dad: Ursaring
Mom: Vaporeon
Bro: Infernape
Grandpa: Blastoise
Nanna: Misdreavus
Jack: Zangoose
Snowman: Sneasel (Not really into the idea that this pokemon should evolve like it was intended in the 2nd generation)
Doc Scratch: Mewtwo
I just wanna say that I really, really like the concept of the afterlife in this story. Maybe that's partly because I had a fascination with that topic beforehand, but I think Hussie handles it in a really unique and interesting way I hadn't quite seen before. I loved that segment with Aradia and Doomed Dave, particularly when Dave asks if there's anything he can do to keep helping his friends, and she tells him no, because it's no longer any of his business.
Which is why I don't really understand all the complaints that the presence of an afterlife cheapens death. They're still dead, aren't they? Cheapened deaths are stuff like in DBZ, where a character dying meant absolutely nothing because you knew they were just gonna bring them back with the damn dragonballs anyway. Here you can still fear the death of a character because it means they won't be able to participate the same way in the story, but not completely erase them from the story if they do. And that's not pandering, either. Thinking that a dead character means they should be gone forever without a trace and we'll never see them again is a pretty shallow way of looking at death. Who's to say there isn't an afterlife in the real world? We just don't have the privilege of being able to see it while we're still alive, but these characters do. I'm completely fine with dead characters still being part of the story, as long as their deaths have consequence and it means there will be some degree of separation between them and the world of the living, since they are no longer part of it.

As for your point regarding Jack, the key difference there is that Jack is acknowledged by the author and by most readers as a villain -- or even as something "less" than a villain, as a mere "force of nature" that simply wantonly and haphazardly inflicts harm. My issues with Vriska are twofold: first, that the author and other readers refuse to acknowledge her as a villain, and second, that she rarely (if ever) faces serious consequences for her actions. It's not either issue independently but both in unison that cultivate my greatest fear: that Vriska will in some way be "absolved" and "forgiven" for her indiscretions despite a failure to change in any meaningful way, and that her role in the story will be as a lauded hero or antihero despite the abhorrent manner that she's treated Tavros and others.
I'd be just as worried if there was evidence that Jack was going to end up celebrated as a misunderstood hero who ultimately saved the day -- but there's no evidence whatsoever that could be interpreted to support such a conclusion. It's not that I hate Vriska so much because I've misinterpreted her into "being a real person" and I'm holding her to "real person moral standards" or anything. I "hate her" because her victories in Homestuck (and she always seems to win) represent what I view as bad moral lessons for literature to enforce: that bullies suffer no consequences, that sexual and violent action of a coercive nature can be justified, that such behavior requires no apologies to the victim, that the victim is actually the one responsible for his downfall and not the perpetrator. That's the nature of my visceral reaction -- it's not against Vriska as a character, but against the themes Homestuck would incorporate assuming that Andrew continues to adamantly support the notion that she's a misunderstood hero and not a villain. Does that make more sense?

Probably something fire type or steel type. Something with a time-theme would be great, but I think the only one is Celebi, who doesn't fit as something that'd be on Dave's team anyway.
Magmar and Slugma lines aren't bad, but Slugma isn't really nearly cool enough.

Our mission..is to find a mythical bomb, The Tumor, at all costs. One lietent commander Rose Lalonde has requested our assistance in finding it, for...purposes unkown. However, I have been good personal friends with Miss Lalonde for several years, and I have come to...trust her judgement. We can only hope the natives prove as friendly.
End...Transmission.

Suggestion: I got every kid and troll a role. Gym leaders and elit four are in order.
Tavros is the protagonist gets fire-tepig or charmander
karkat is the rival thats gets water-squirtle or oshawott
Jade is Dawn and gets grass-bulbasaur or snivey
John would be the windy that goes first flying type gym leader
feferi would be the water type gym leader
Vriska would be bug type gym leader
Kanaya would be the grass type gym leader (since she is into gardening and she is a lumberjack [see description page])
gamzee would be the poisen type gym leader
eridan would be the ice type gym leader (lot of water too)
Dave is the fire type gym leader (also lot of steel)
Terezi would be dragon type gym leader
equius would be fighting type elite four (with robots steal too) that goes first to protect aradia
aradia would be ghost type elite four (some psychics too) that goes secon because she's 0k with that.
sollux would be psychic type elite four (with that bee one) that goes third and gets furious when he knows that you beat aradia.
rose would be dark type elite four that goes last because, if you haven't heard, she's busy.
nepeta would be the champion with NO cute Pokemon or cat Pokemon for a complete ironic effect. (also because she was the odd troll out)
MC and felt or prospit and derse would be the two gangs.
More tommorrow. Should probably not have spent from 2-4 am working on this. XP oh well too late now.
EDIT: Jade is Dawn in the fact that she would have the same role as Dawn did in the game, helping the protagonist and choosing the pokemon that was left over.
Edit2: Jordan, I don't know if you're being serious or not but remember there is no official canon, just some things that most people on agree on.

I think we already have some semblances of roles so far...
As far as I can tell,
John, Dave, Jade, Karkat, Eridan, Aradia, and Terezi have all been established to be trainers.
Rose is a coordinator. Kanaya is a breeder that wants to be a coordinator.
Gamzee is a gym leader.
The MC run Derse Corp, and the Felt run Team English.
You guys, you've posted so much I have to catch up now.
Have a picture and an idea while I catch up:
I gave Nepeta a Persian hat and fake tail to make it more Pokemon-like. :B
Basically one of the things that I remember about Ruby/Sapphire is that Skitty is so hard to find and catch. So naturally I can imagine Nepeta trying to find one no matter how hard it is. So she sets on a quest with a Persian (Pounce) that shes had since a young age and a Purrlion (Jaspers/Mutie) that she got given to by Rose. Together they'll somehow find a Skitty. When I have time I'll probably turn that into a fanfic.
