What would you do if you see someone with a Homestuck shirt?

Wow; Reading through this thread (though not all of it) gives the impression there are a helluvalot more hardcore fans out there than I realized. Alas, haven't seen anyone with a dishdash or payraan tumbaan bearing a Homestuck image.

If I did, though, I'd likely give them a meaningful look of camaraderie that would be misinterpreted as intimidating and send them shuffling hastily away.

Hmm.....*taps chin* Honestly, if i were to pass someone donning a Homestuck tshirt i would more then likely tackle them and scream, "HOMESTUCK FAN LOCATED!!!" There r so few of us where i am who r even aware of the comix existance. It makes me sad cuz it is not only my very first taste of a REAL webcomic (in thus introducing me to many other), but it is my absolute favorite. It is so good that it could very easily become main stream. But, i honestly do not wish for this to happen. I have found that whenever anything goes mainstream it immediately becomes.....tainted. And i absolutely do NOT want this for Homestuck. I love it too much.

I saw someone walking recently wearing a Homestuck shirt and had to suppress a giggle, but kept walking and didn't say anything. Nobody was the wiser. So I guess that answers that.

I tend to start laughing at the slightest provocation. Hee hee hee. Though as far as approaching anyone and actively talking to them, I'd be no more likely than doing so to anyone else. Would help start conversations, I guess, but that's about it.

Whisper in a fit of giggles to the person I'm hanging with, "It's one of my cult members!" without actually making contact with said Homestuck fan.

And if I'm alone ... perhaps stare awkwardly for a few seconds, but think to myself, "Oh hey, that's awesome."

I have had three encounters. Two of them, I flipped out. "OMG HOMESTUCK" and then I immediately asked the first question I ask anyone who I find out reads Homestuck - "Who is your favorite troll?"

It is the best possible judge of character. If they say anyone other than Gamzee, Tavros, Equius, Fef, or Nep, they're cool.

The other encounter was a stanger that I passed suddenly so I just said "I love you Homestuck shirt" and continued walking.

While looking them over briefly, I would pass judgement on them, and make a series of unfounded assumptions about them as a person using only their physical appearance and mannerisms as a guideline to form my own crude little subjective perspective of them, a hastily hand-scrawled psychic portfolio to leave laying around on my mind's furniture.

I would entertain the thought that you can't judge a book by its cover, basking in my own apparent wisdom and fondly thinking about how everyone else is too stupid to keep things like that in mind when they're gathering first impressions from a new stranger. Of course this pseudointellectual pondering would serve no practical purpose other than to make me proud of myself, as I would still consider all of my gut-feelings about this person to be inscrutably accurate anyway, never doubting the validity of my own prejudices and bias for even a second, in spite of my delusions of being so very mindful not to be misled by them. The reason for this being that so much ego-stroking would leave me with no reason to think that I don't know everything about judging character.

I would probably take an almost immediate dislike to them, for something as simple and meaningless as the way they carry themselves, or the style of their hair - I'd surely be able to find at least one thing to think badly of - and then I could easily build upon that petty seed of inevitable hatred, using this negative light to portray them in my mind as a bit of a poser or a show-off, perhaps as a "mindless consumer" or any number of other popularly detested character types, with which type being dependant on the other minor details of the way they look.

Unless I found them really attractive, in which case I wouldn't be thinking about any of that other stuff at all. I'd just be trying not to get caught staring intensely at their body.

The first time I encountered a Homestuck shirt outside of a con was at work. I work at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and I see this chick in a John tee and as she's walking out of the theater when the movie's over and we gotta clean up I awkwardly go "nice shirt!" but she probably never noticed because there were quite a few people. If I remember correctly, she was watching Sherlock Holmes. As you might imagine, I felt like a total dipshit for being so awkward.

I would just be like "Nice shirt, bro." Then I would go on my way because I'll probably be busy. Luckily, I have a lot of experience on complimenting people on their choice of clothing, so even if they stare at me like I freak I won't care. It's not like I'm going to see them ever again.

I'm totally going to order Tavros and Dave shirts when I get the chance (next month after the con is over dang nab it!), I'll probably make a Kanaya skirt as well because I think it would be super awesome to have one to wear casually. Since I live next to a college town I'll probably have a lot of people recognize them, especially since they have a fairly big anime club and there's a con nearby. Actually I'm pretty sure I've seen someone wearing a Dave shirt around before I even knew what Homestuck was. I think a Gamzee is going to be at the con actually because a friend of a friend posted a photo of his in progress costume up on FB. If I start talking to the dude I just have to be careful and not effing say Homestruck instead of Homestuck. Because me being me I misread it the first time I saw it and I have to struggle not to ef up every time I say it now. My mouth just wants to form that "Struh" sound what can I say?

Given that I'd most likely be wearing one of my Homestuck shirts, if I saw someone wearing a Homestuck symbol denoting an instantly recognisable character themselves, I'd greet them in character. But this is likely to never happen as I live in the remotest of tiny seaside villages and the chances of running into a fellow Homestuck fan are pretty much about zero. wweh.

You know what....I pretty sure I saw a chick at the Cherry Blossom Festival wearing a Roxy shirt. I didn't say crap I just happened to be busy accompanying (being forced) my friend as she went around advertising. Or it was just a shirt with a pink kitty face on it (doubtful).

Guess I'll be seeing a lot more Homestuckers seeing as the con I work for has two Homestuck panels. (Wait what? How did I not realize this before?) I may go if I schedule myself off during that time. See some of you in a little less than two weeks.
