Do you guys still need animators? I may not be able to synch things, I haven't tried, but I can make looping animations that can be tweened for synching (so like, optic blast or something. the animation i make, it's then put into the GRAND FINAL and synched)
I never did find out how that loading screen fared out, how did it go?

I think it's one of those ponies from that MLP cartoon. I only watched about 4 episodes (mostly due to my friends being MLP fans) but I'm pretty sure that I'm right... probably.
Anyways, I'm feeling in a particularly creative mood. I think I'll help you guys out with some sort of drawing/animating thing that needs to get done.

Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus - Artists Needed

Hey guys, I'm on the chat channel today if you want to discuss what to do more precisely.

Also, Psych, if you want me to show you how to make animated gif, the chat would be a good option.

EDIT: here's a quick list I put together of thing that are actually being made/decided and things that are still in elaboration. Or that at least I think are decided/still in elaboration.

    What is decided/being made:

-Derse soldiers entry (don't know how things are progressing )
    -Trolls vs Dersite (ALMOST DONE)
    - short victory + first attack of Black King (mostly done, I think)

    -Terezi storyboard
    -Interlude 1 (after Terezi)
    -Tavros Storyboard
    -Kanaya Storyboard
    -Equius/Nepeta Storyboard
    -Gamzee storyboard

What needs to be elaborated/still just sketches

    -Karkat storyboard
-Eridan/Feferi Storyboard (Elshastara made interesting sketches)
    -Interlude 2 (after Eridan/Feferi)
    -Interlude 3 (after Gamzee)
-Vriska storyboard/end of the song (I know Psych made some sweet storyboard sketches )

    Update!
Here's what I have so far for the Eridan + Feferi thing. I based it pretty close to the storyboard pics And it definitely needs more work, more movement of small details, and moar frames. I really should have looked at a reference pic when drawing Feferi (goggles aren't suppose to have a strap, forgot to put bracelets on her wrists, hair probably isn't in the correct shapes, wrong colorz...). I stayed up pretty late last night working on Eridan.

Also, I did this without a tablet (not that I can afford one...).

Oh that is niiiice. The one thing I might suggest changing is the colour of the veins in his eyes, possibly to grey, but that's just me. Also:

    I'm not seeing a difference... ^^;

And yeah, I think it was, but whether that's noticeable depends on how we use it. I'm thinking have either gamzee jumping away from him in that frame, or someone else jumping in to attack. ^^

Theyre all skteches. Also thats why I was asking on how to make a gif. I might be on the chat tomorrow, hopefully I can catch you or Jackie on.

Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus - Artists Needed

Registered for the forums to comment on this topic:

This is looking great. I wish I could contribute, but... alas, I am not an artist, a musician, or in any other capacity terribly helpful.

I did, however, have an idea: Vriska's impossibly lucky roll produces the result "Ancestral Awakening" ... and it might be a rather cool artistic effect to have some sort of 'awakening' of all 12 of the trolls' Ancestors, for a final, leap towards the Black King, fade to white as the rain falls and the Vast Croak begins.

I ... realize this is a lot of work and retooling what you already have, so take it or leave it. But now that we know what all of the ancestors look like, it's actually possible.

Anyway, you guys are doing an amazing job. Thank you very much for your work.

Actually, that's a pretty good idea!

But I'd say have a group shot where the Ancestors flicker over each of them, or are standing behind them, somewhere near the end, if possible? Or one of those rushing shots, like with sweaty equius, and have each of them with their ancestors behind them? How does that sound?

I'm still here and I've been checking in, just to let everyone know. I really am just waiting for an "assignment" from someone to draw something though. Hope that's alright.
I like the ancestor idea too.But it's not really my place to decide something like that.

I was thinking something akin to how the x5 SHOWDOWN COMBO did it, but either of those ideas works as well. In my head, it worked something like this:

Vriska rolls, we see the result, blue glow, basically like the bit from the scratch segment. Then we see the ancestors above and behind the 12 assembled trolls in some fancy TEAM POSE, and they leap towards the camera (and ostensibly the Black King) as it fades (quickly) to either black or white as is fitting with the music.

Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus - Artists Needed

When you guys suggest ideas without checking the existing storyboards, and I can always tell when someone does, you make me cry a little on the inside.

I spent time on that wiki, you know. Quite a lot of it.

Oh and again, how about you people that claim you can't help, keep track of who's doing what? As you can see, we have artists pop in all the time with requests of "point me towards something to do!" and that is definitely within your capability. It is also an extremely important job! Curse you school for takin all my free time...

Sorry to have angered you. I did see, and read, the storyboard. I thought it was nice, but I did feel like a suggestion of another idea wouldn't be out of place. If I was incorrect, I apologize. As I am not formally in charge of the project, I feel assigning artists or animators to further my designs, or the designs of the project as a whole would be irresponsible and somewhat disrespectful to the project and the artists. Also, I'm a first year law student and don't have a whole lot of time.

Again, I apologize for frustrating you. You have my apologies.

Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus - Artists Needed

I'm making a Vrika SB, a sketched one that I will reveal when the time is right. We're still to early in the animation to be jumping to her part... especially since her's is the end of the animation. What I am merely doing is branching pieces of other fellow artist's work on the sb and filling the gaps with more or less a couple of sketches.
On another note, I wouldn't hesitate on pausing my work on this sketched sb if i were assigned some specific task. I'm doing this because i don't necessarily have much in my hands.

Personally I really like the ancestor idea. If I recall correctly, the Vriska storyboard wasn't really set in stone yet.

Which, conversely, is why I felt it would be still ok to make a suggestion: It's early enough to change things if we want without throwing things too out of whack. If I was mistaken, I apologize. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes.

Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus - Artists Needed

I'm going to elaborate more on what I can do with animation, this explanation not for those who can't use flash:
Given the art assets, I could make a Movie clip that loops independently of the animation for as long as it's on screen. Pausing the animation would reveal the movie clip to still be moving. (pause during >Jade: Enter where Karkat's hand reaches for the doorknob)
If given the art assets, I could easily make those to save time with finicky flickering/complications in the main flash. Karkat attacking stuff, optic blast's random flashing, etc)

Huh, I guess that's easy to understand anyway.
