This may have been suggested already, and if it has i apologize, but I always visualized that from 5:41-5:55 Vriska was just kind of teasing the black king [S] Wake style before rolling the dice. It would be a cool parallel to that flash if that pat resembled the way she teased Tavros with her flying before murdering him.

The OP only lists them during Vriska's attack, but perhaps we can do both. If we decide to to do both, then I'll take the Gamzee-attack ones. Vriska's fun to draw with a derpy expression anyway.

    If not, you're on.

Guys, how about we have one of Vriska's dice land in one of Gamzee's empty pie tins? Just for comedic value, and to see Gamzee looking mournfully at his empty pie tin, and then noticing the die.

I really underestimated how difficult it is to visualize something that's nothing more than a blob of dark and tentacles, with a king hat.
And then I just realized ycobb did a much better job than anything I could possibly do.

Man, this is my kind of project. Count me in! I don't have a whole lot of experience with flash spare for a few classes but I know enough to do some simple animations. If not, I'm fully willing to help with story boards. I already have photoshop elements 6 and a wacom tablet and a few other drawing programs that came with it. I just recently got flash MX, so I'll see what I can do. I'll try to get a storyboard or two up by the end of the week. Even if they're just really quick ones using my tablet or doodles in my sketchbook. Every little bit counts, right? :O

Oh god, I was basically aware that something like this had no way of NOT happening, but I still never ventured around this part so I only noticed it on the main forum page by chance.

    So incredibly ---EXCIT-----ED guys.

    Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus

Ok, I registered just to post to this thread, for lo, it is awesome. I can't draw worth a damn, but there's something I had always imagined about this fight that I have not seen suggested, so I wanted to offer it.

Before I get there, though, let me weigh in as being 413% in favor of the Equius/Nepeta fastball special- I was DEEPLY saddened that we never had one happen on screen in Homestuck.

My suggestion relates to Gamzee, however. Since his flip out, one thing that we've seen about him is he is a mimic, and beating the trolls at their own games. He trolls Karkat, sticks an arrow in Equius, etc etc. So in my personal headcanon, when Gamzee makes his WTF WAS THAT attack, he is using the Black King's attack. Granted, the advantage to headcanon is that I don't have to represent what the Black King's attack is like and then come up with a way to make sense for Gamzee to also use it, Jokerkindwise. But if anyone likes the idea and can think of a way to make it work, go for it.

I really love a LOT of the things so far in this thread. I'm glad to see this hapen.

I can do the images of the Derse Soldiers and the background for it, but I don't have flash so I can't actually animate it.

    Right!

Canonically speaking, I'm not sure if we could do that. Since the Soulbot cam shows that Vriska's dice all landed relatively close together (and on the ground).

They should totally be using a dropship, a la WV?: Rise Up.
    That'd be pretty sweet, actually.

I can do the images of the Derse Soldiers and the background for it, but I don't have flash so I can't actually animate it.
Not having Flash is fine. Derse Soldier images would be very nice, though.

Maybe the die is first shown on a low number, but then Gamzee picks up his pie tin, causing the die to fall out and roll to where the other dice are, conveniently rerolling it?

I second that 8AD 8R8K deal. For some reason I can't get the idea of Vriska using GIGA DRILL 8r8ker from Gurren Lagann mixed with sepulchritude.

    okay so about this

were representing the vast glub as a ripply effect right?
    okay so what if
gamzee releases a VAST HONK attack thing instead/in addition to the headsplody clubsmack?
    or just like
what we already had planned but with a ripple effect with the Honks in the music
    or something
dunno why but i like this idea

Obviously it would be the Vast Honk foretold of in the murderchants of the Subjugglators.

    Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus

Even though there was a Vast Honk that was foretold, we have no reason to think that Gamzee would be able to initiate it. In fact, the Vast Honk may not be a psychic shockwave, and it even could be the Vast Glub.

That idea makes me very glad that psychic powers don't count as a strife specibus. Because if they did, then Gamzee could use psychic attacks. And that would actually be plausible.

    Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus

I'm not really sure a Vast Glub-type thing works for Gamzee. Partially because I think it'd be significantly cooler to see him just physically flip out on the Black King, and partially because it brings up just like a whole bunch of technical issues by having Gamzee use a massive psychic attack.

  25. #400

    Re: [S] Rex Duodecim Angelus

not to mention the vast glub wouldn't work on a creature capable of speaking it

i vote for gamzee's attack being offscreen and mysterious as was initially planned
