HOW DID I EVEN
this just got 9413 times more intimidating
I LOVE IT.
also i took Rotirt "YCobb" Kunset's design into consideration,(so it would fit better into the flash if it goes in) mostly on his 'clothes' because i really just couldn't get it right at ALL
i also fixed the eyes on the left head and made the remaining ones more angry. karkat will be standing on one of the crabclaws in the front, staring at the king while the right head (coincidentally) seems to stare back at him, which is a nice touch that happened by accident ;-;
i also finished that goddamn arm >:[
its probably too short or something but i just don't want to deal with it anymore ;;
also, since i REALLY don't wanna work with just all black, i decided to give it a small tint of color depending on what prototype the part resulted from. ex: the moustaches are equius blue for his lusus, and so will the hind legs and udders.
oh and the left head's blue eye isn't done, if that's distracting ;;
So, I think this is the greatest thing since ever. But, I can't really help, due to having negative nine thousand artistic skills. However, I can offer moral support! All of the moral support!
Okay, so I put some transparency on the back of Equius playing snap and random gun-toting Eridan.

Also, while doing some prep for stuff involving the Dersites, I realised I'd need some backgrounds. Then I realised that actually, these might be really useful for everybody. They're actually pretty easy to make, and could be used for a bunch of random things like reaction shots etc. One of these is made for a horizontal pan, the other, vertical. Maybe I should make a bunch of these in various states of wear and tear? Maybe as the battle continues, the sky gets stormy and firey and the battlefield is all scarred up as both the fight and the Reckoning get more intense.
I have a question about format. If I want to provide animated content, should it be in GIF format? Can you use that? I seem to remember being able to use GIFs in Flash but it's been years. I was thinking of doing some nice marching crowd scenes to get a sense of the surging waves of Dersites, but wanted to check first if I should do a GIF or do Flash.
If you want to keep your actual style of drawing, unless we can draw with that kind of lines in flash(and I'm absolutely not sure about that), I guess you can make animated gif. I tried to import some in Flash and it works.
By the way, your drawings are awesome![]()
Hello, I'm another person who made an account for this. I have no art talent in any way, BUT I am good with ideas so mabye I can help that way? Or is there no more room in the story outline?
Always, room bro. :O If you have a pesterchum come bug us sometime. After a few days I'm going to go ahead and say that it's usually busy around 3 - 5 coastal time (I.E. my time) where we talk about what to do. If anything feel free to contribute. Even some stick figures can help when it comes to storyboarding.
Who's in the mood for...
AN EPIC PAN!?
This is made to be panned from top to bottom, so you get a nice sense of scale. To add more movement, you could throw in some moving meteors, flying sparks, teleporting Aradiabots or even just a slightly fluctuating light effect over the top.
Okay, apart from this, I need to do some intimidating looking Bishops and Rooks, and a nice shot of a throng of battle-ready Pawns.
Okay, then. Hope I don't come off as bossy, but I have a lot of ideas.
First, during the Black King's second bit, it shows King agressing Terezi and Karkat, and at the middle bit, a breif cut to Tavros: trying to start up his rocket car but it's stalling (I don't know I find this funny).
Next I second the idea of Kanaya walking forward slowly and gracefully in an elegant dress and applying the lipstick, suddenly changing to "work clothes" and a chainsaw. Like, instantly, one frame to the next.
I've got an idea for the Nepetquius part, but I need to make the doodles first.
Also, mabye the king uses some fancy eye lasers?
Gamzee's bit I personally imagine as him charging it up in a indigo glow, honks eminating from his soul, the other trolls look at him in worry/fear, then at the glubby part the king's face(s) is/are shown to be scared. Cut to space veiw of Skaia where the charge glow is visible and then a sudden discharge rage. Cut back to the battle and the King is stunned and also heavily damaged.
I don't know, that's just me.
Oh, that is a great pan image. I love the pawn that's just falling.

Good God, those Pawns are amazing.
I'm maybe just a little worried about them landing on the Battlefield though, since the Trolls fight from the platform. Not sure about how the transition might go there. Would it be possible to mess with the background so that it's like the Pawns are landing on the platform sort of between the Black King and the trolls?
Otherwise fantastic.
Got my doodles ready:
Hope these show up...
E: Okay, they didn't, but the poster below fixed it. Props to him.

I'd love to help but my pixel art is rusty as fuck so I don't think I'll be contributing anything art-wise in the near future. But I'd be glad to help with some ideas. For one, if felicitousArtisan is doing backgrounds it would probably be more practical to do diferent hills at diferent distances separately so they can be put toghether on whatever way the take needs without having to make a butload of full backgrounds. That would also allow for objects at diferent distances to move at diferent speed in pans to give a sense of depth.
I'm not sure I explained myself very well, whatever. Loving all the stuff you've already got done.
Okay, guys. Just wanting to say that we're pretty close to getting like the first 50-53 seconds or so of the Flash done. That's pretty exciting!
More or less, here's what we're waiting on before that happens:
-Another Black King shot (menaicalManiac is working on this I think).
-Transparent version of Rotirt "YCobb" Kunset's Black King.
-Trolls standing in pose (I'm not actually entirely sure what the status on this is. Think Differential is grappling with school work right now).
-More Derse soldiers shots (I believe felicitousArtisan is handling this).
But once we get all of that in, I should be able to string all of that together into our first bit of "WOW PROGRESS" on the actual Flash.
In the meantime, contributions are still totally welcome for all parts of the Flash. There is always room for more art. Everywhere.
Keep on trucking, folks.![]()
Okay, I've fixed the tall dropship pan with the new floor. It actually looks cooler this way, I think.
I also did this:
I've worked out, or rather, remembered how to do animated gifs. H3H3H3H3H3!
I am not looking forward to doing stuff with Bishops though. All the bishops we've seen have been recolours of the same image, and we don't have any canon depiction of what they do. Maybe I should stick to Pawns and Rooks for this section? Unless somebody has some AMAZING idea for a character fighting a Bishop?
I think I'll do some stuff of Pawns massing for an attack? The Dersites are hella boring compared to the Trolls, but very easy to draw, so anybody who wants to throw some in, please, by all means.
Oh, and the 'do backgrounds' idea is now kind of made pointless by them all being on a platform!![]()
The bishops could be archers of some sort...
this is an awesome project, btw
Okay so that shot of all the pawns dropping from the ship is BEYOND AMAZING but I do have one nitpick: the brightly colored Dersite outfits that we're so accustomed to actually came from John's harlequin prototyping. The trolls' session didn't have that, so technically the pawns' outfits should be more like this.
......
......
......
...If anybody wants me, I'll be screaming into a cushion because I have to redo all those goddamn dersites. I don't even like drawing the bloody Dersites!
Errgh. Do we have any other images of Dersites from the Trolls session? I mean, the prototypings were all luscii, so do they all just wear black and white? Or just no clothing?
I kind of figured that the Pawns were generic and that they wore similar uniforms regardless of prototypings. Some parts of the army look like they were based on the Harlequin, but it's not clear how much it was an influence, I guess?
Edit: But I guess if it's a problem, they'd just wear black and white.

Oh Look It's That Image Again. I Am Sure You Are Not In The Slightest Bit Sick Of The Sight Of it.
That Was An Example Of Your Human Sarcasm.
Hokay, so Now they're dressed in basically a black and white version. Are we cool? Can I call off my murderous rampage?
I may draw some trolls before continuing with the Dersites just so I can cool off from my temporary intense hatred for these little buggers Actually, given that the next scene involves a bunch of shots of trolls killing Dersites, I may do some bits for that for catharsis.
Wait guys...do we know that Dersites/Prospitians were actually present?
The impression I got from reading/looking was that the Black King fight was "above" or "outside" the battlefield in some way, making it just 1-on-12 with the Black King.![]()
