That's looking pretty solid, felicitousArtisan. We are in business.

We don't know that the Dersites weren't actually present, but on the other hand, we don't actually know if they weren't present either. So I used creative license and added them to the storyboard to fill out the first part of the battle. Partially for rule of cool, partially because it lets some trolls get a bit of pre-battle spotlight, partially because I think it actually is a good question about where the Derse soldiers would be in a battle with the Black King.

W-Well . . . with panels 5 and 6, I was trying to show movement of the hand holding the lipstick from her face to her side, then I was going to have the next page which would have been a shot, from below, of her looking up at the black king (or some part of him), then two panels afterwards, she would be revving her chainsaw, with the panel before being her lipstick turning into a chainsaw.

I may draw some trolls before continuing with the Dersites just so I can cool off from my temporary intense hatred for these little buggers Actually, given that the next scene involves a bunch of shots of trolls killing Dersites, I may do some bits for that for catharsis.

Okay guys so apparently Differential is kind of tied up at the moment, so we need somebody to do this:

0:15 - 0:30 (15-30s) - Pan shot of the twelve trolls, in order of introduction (Karkat, Gamzee, Terezi, Sollux, Tavros, Aradia, Nepeta, Vriska, Equius, Kanaya, Eridan, Feferi).
Everybody is angrily glaring back (about to get into the fight), except for Gamzee, who should have a zoned-out "What's going on?" expression.

So that we can make progress.

but still, i tried to use whatever elements in this thread were made for his part and i honestly think the current product looks like rubbish but whatever if anyone wants to offer some recommendations i'd appreciate it

Oh jegus, click that button at the bottom of your post that says "Edit Post" then press "Go Advanced". Umm, and now just to annoy everybody...didn't the King have Dragon Wings? From Terezi's Lusus? I mean, if he did, they're easy to add in at least, just throw 'em on a layer behind.

See, look at the back there, they're in brown because they're paler due to the distance because the King is so freaking huge. You can just make out the shape of enormous dragon wings back there.

Oh, and Differential, I'm not upset with you. I was just being a bit dramatic ^_^; The Dersites aren't hard to draw, they're just rather tedious, so having to edit them was a minor irritation. Still, I'm glad you pointed it out. We want to have the canon straight and be consistent after all. Sweet Catch!

Okay, so to be clear:
The fight is taking place on a green lilypad-shaped platform which has a spirograph and a frog engraved on it, which is floating in the sky above the battlefield (because otherwise, they'd be attacking the King's ankles, I guess). The platform is of vague dimensions, but big enough for 12 trolls to stand on comfortably with at least 2 meters space between each other and between the outermost trolls at the edge. There are other lily pads floating in the sky randomly, some of which have colourful flowers resembling the giant lilies in the Lagoon part of Jade's Island. They have green bubbles beneath them in little trails. [edit] Closer inspection of the Aradiabot log indicates that the platform IS one of the lily pads.
The sky is bright blue and dotted with clouds, some of which have spiralling tails. It is also full of meteors, most of which, particularly early on, will be winking out through Skaia's defence portals, which are canonically green in colour and look like spirographs.
The minions of the Black King are Dersites. They are all black in colour, and due to the Trolls prototyping not involving harlequins or eldrich princesses and Trolls largely hating fashion, are dressed in black, white and grey (but I have kept the overall shape of the uniform the same). They wear the Derse crest on their right breast, which is a downwards-pointing black pentagon with two pointed towers coming out of the top, and the chess symbol for a king (which looks like the kanji for earth) in white in the middle. Pawns, as we have seen in-canon, are mostly armed with swords, but we have seen them with spears, bows, crossbows, large shields and apparently assault rifles (cannot find source of this, but was mentioned on wiki).

That's 99% right or so, felicitousArtisan. The Derse logo changes based on the number of people playing, so the Troll session's Derse logo looks like this.

Everything else looks pretty spot on though.

Also the soldiers wielded assault rifles in [S] Descend, I think, when they were lining up to fight Jack. My memory's a little fuzzy on that right now, so it may be [S]WV?: Rise Up, but there are assault rifles in at least one of those two.

I think the third one (with the straight tail) is going to be the most-needed. If we could get a meteor in that like the first and second ones and a bit of a jitter effect like the fourth one I think we should totally have a meteor that we can use throughout the Flash.

The first and second ones might be good to hold onto for Sollux-Aradia purposes, though.

Also, woaaaaaah, Rotirt. That Black King is ginormous.

Also, also, did some quick copy-paste and resize shenanigans involving Rotirt's Black King and felicitousArtisan's backgrounds to get a good idea of how the final image would go down. There maaaaaaaay be a bit of stylistic dissonance. :X
