YCHKIWAT (A Brief Lesson in History)

You are now this distressed young woman. You have spent some time in captivity. You cannot remember the outside world, back to a time where you had dignity, possessions, and a name. That's all in the past now, and the past is no longer yours to remember.

Tonight you have resolved to do one of two things: KILL YOURSELF or MAKE YOUR ESCAPE. Neither will be easy. You have only a few hours left to make your decision. A fate far worse than death awaits if you are found alive when the sun rises.

Whatever choice you plan to make, you should make it now. Night will only cover you for so much longer.

Obviously, the choice will be MAKE YOUR ESCAPE.

even if you wanted to end your life, I doubt your captors left anything for you to kill yourself with in your captive area.

As you survey your barren prison you realise that escape is your only option. There will be plenty of time of opportunities to end your life once you are free.

The MOON is the only light available to you at the moment. Who knows what your weak eyes may have missed? Before you allow foolish notions of freedom to fill your head, remember that CHAINS still BIND YOUR ANKLES TO THE WALL. The only other item in your cell is POT for you to relieve yourself in. It really isn't doing you any good on the opposite end of the room. You certainly wish you could reach it. You've been wishing for hours. One can only wonder how it ended up so far away in the first place.

You do not know what time it is. In mere hours you will meet a horrific and unspeakable demise. Unfortunately, GUARDS and SERVANTS may still be patrolling the hallways. They are certain to COME RUNNING if you draw too much attention to yourself.

    TICK. TOCK. TICK. TOCK.
What are you going to do?

    >How sympathetic are the guards to your plight? If they're at least reasonable, you could consider calling them and asking them to bring the pot to you. If not, you could call them and hope they drop something by accident as they torment you. You know they won't want to kill you if you're already facing a threat worse than death, but it's possible you could get one of them pissed off enough to lose control.

    >Before you do that, though, let's explore another option. Is it possible to stand up? How far away from the wall can you get with those chains? Is it possible to slip your feet through the chains? Like, even if you have to dislocate or break or otherwise damage something...

Why were you imprisoned in the first place? Maybe you have sweet supernatural powers you can use to escape =3!

That is easier said than done. Your captors always seem to be a step a head of you. You could try BASHING YOUR HEAD INTO A WALL, but you fear that you will only succeed in KNOCKING YOURSELF UNCONSCIOUS. ESCAPE is your only option after all. Well, the only option you are willing to take, as insane and unrealistic as it may be. Years of captivity have finally gotten to you. You are planning your escape.

There's innumerable walls and chains and doors and guards between you and the outside world. Ah, THE GUARDS. You, thankfully, have had very little interaction with the guards. They brought you to this cell, they make their daily rounds past your living quarters, and they plan on retrieving you at sunrise. Oh, and the last time you thought it was a good idea to SASS YOUR SUPERIORS, you ended up with a BLADE IN YOUR THROAT. As a result, you are no longer capable of INTELLIGIBLE SPEECH. In spite of all that, the guards are more or less indifferent to you and your impending doom. If you were able to EXPLAIN YOUR DIRE SITUATION to one of the softer guards, then there is a small chance that he would be willing to lend you a hand. SMALL CHANCE.

Better you catch the attention of a guard than one of the SERVANTS. Most of them are very familiar with your dire situation, and have been in similar positions. Not a one has a bit of sympathy for you. In fact, a servant would be far more likely MURDER YOU IN BLIND RAGE. None of them is so kind.

It is safest to assume that you haven't an ally within the castle walls.

    You sit back down.

As you massage feeling back into your legs and attempt to will away your oncoming headache, you use what little light and focus you have to examine your bonds. The chains allow you to reach the other side of the window, halfway across the room and just out of reach of the pot. Your feet are far too LARGE and UNFEMININE to simply slip out of your bindings. You are hesitant to force them through or do any further damage to yourself. After escaping your cell, you are still going to have to navigate through the rest of the castle.

The rusting scrap of metal probably exists more to tease you than to actually bind you. You give the chain a few good yanks. It remains attached and unbroken, and you gain two scraped hands for your trouble. In your current state, you are neither strong enough nor heavy enough to break your bonds by yourself. Maybe if you were able to pull the chain tight enough you could beat it with something heavy until the screws are yanked out of the wall completely. It's either that or find a KEY.

You grope around for a suitable substitute for a few minutes. All you find is the long, jagged SCREW wedged halfway into your thigh.

The cold night's air provides a small distraction from the warm flow of fresh blood. You run your fingers along the rough, crumbling edges of the window. The bitter air stings and stiffens your reddened hands before you are able to locate anything of use that might have been lying around outside. You withdraw your fingers and press your face against the bars.

You remember stairs, yes, stairs. The towers here are not for the criminals. Not the serious criminals anyways. A WALL obscures most of your view. Nothing of any IMMEDIATE IMPORTANCE appears to be outside. There may be a courtyard far below your window. Unfortunately your head will not go through any further, and you aren't going to risk getting yourself stuck.

You allow your gaze to linger a moment too long. The silhouette of distant hills in the moonlight bring back a wave a wave of memories better off buried for good. You have a family beyond those hills. You did once. A MOTHER, a FATHER, and three...four OLDER BROTHERS?

All of them larger, stronger, and far more trustworthy than the troublesome runt.

    Ah trouble.

Trouble and stupidity, are those supernatural powers?

Because it seems that you have an inhuman knack for getting yourself caught up in those things.

You push those useless thoughts aside. You're simply nostalgic, as many women are the NIGHT BEFORE THEIR WEDDING.

When the feeling returns to your fingers, you make it a point to search yourself for anything at all that could be of any possible aide. Your keepers are quite thorough. They don't even trust you with a pair of stockings.

You comb through your hair repeatedly, hoping to find a stray adornment that had been passed over by careless guards. You do not expect to find very much of anything.

    ...

    ...

DEAR SWEET MERCILESS GODS, WHAT IS THAT!?!

    ...

It seems that all of your fuss has attracted the attention of a PASSERBY. You are just a little too distracted to notice at the moment.

Explain to us why getting married is a fate worse than death! Just who is this husband or wife to be? He or she must be awful.

Or, greet the bug politely and ask if he's having a nice evening =3 no need to forget your manners just cos you're locked up

You are a bug. Your life is simple. Your home is a large crack within a red stone wall. You feed on dead flesh and excrement. Soon you will have to find a mate. After successful insemination, you will die and your mate will feed your body to her young.

    Such is life.

This is why we were preemptively thrown out the window. But, if we're still mad about this, I'm sure we can find another fleshy biped to take our anger out on.

    (This isn't a real update.)
