Thread: Chat 'em All: 4Ever [Pokemon]

Re: Chat 'em All: 4Ever [Pokemon]

Yeah, I personally would like if movesets had to remain constant. It would be hard to know if someone changed moveset though, because you have to keep them secret >.<

I really don't feel like having to deal with a choice scarf poke using a super effective move as the lead for every game I play :\

Maybe we need a judge who won't be participating. We can tell him or her the movesets, and after the battles, if a player suspects funny business, he comes in and checks.
    I make atrocious signatures.

Also, are dream world abilities allowed or do you have to use regular ones?

I'd like to believe that people would just be honest about it and keep their team constant throughout the tournament. Eh... If someone wants to volunteer to be the judge then I'd be happy to have you.

@Wacom: Dream World abilities that have been released at this point are allowed. So stuff like Drizzle Politoad is legal.

    Also Gastro Acid.

I'm... unfortunately, considering dropping off the roster.

    Aww, man.

You say "considering"... Do you want me to go ahead and take you off the list?

Re: Chat 'em All: 4Ever [Pokemon]

Yeah, you probably should just knock me off the list.

So, out of curiosity, what is generally the fastest method of level grinding in B/W? The Elite Four? Or is there something I've overlooked?

I could be a judge. By which I mean I could collect a movelist for each team, archive it for safe keeping, and only reference it if someone suspects foul play, while also being trusted to not pass that information on to anyone. I don't plan on participating as a contestant, but I could help out as a neutral party.
    No.

I've done my team with the specific assumption that their moveset would be constant throughout and I would like that more than other things?
It feels more interesting in that rather than tailor the moveset for THAT ONE DUDE YOU ARE WEAK AGAINST you have to make a set up that works for a number of targets and that tests how well your things work with each other?
I feel like this is supposed to be a partial showcase of the cool things that a specific type of pokemon has to offer and that if we all use the same moveset and see how that fairs against everyone elses then DANG THAT'S COOL.

I don't have anythign against item switches though.

Level grinding is best at the elite four and then when you get bored of them, the sports stadiums.

Fixed movelists it is then. I will also be taking Softspoken up on his offer to judge; everyone send their roster including the move lists of each individual Pokemon to him.

Yeah, still working on the stupid "get all 646 before you get B2W2!" thing. At least that gives me a good while to really fuck up ever having a chance at getting a Mew or a Shaymin.

As a person running Sand Stream Tyranitar on her Monodark team, can I just heartily say Fuck Drizzletoad.

Not quite as hard as Fuck Droughttails, but up there. Definitely up there.

Having said that I have no beef with either the water or fire teams using those; it's only decent strategy. They've just been the main banes of my practice runs with my team.

Just wondering - are we allowed to switch teams/movesets before the tournament begins? I am assuming it would be a yes, but I want to make sure before PMing my team and movesets.

I would totally love to take Fire in this tournament, I'm surprised no one else has yet! And if that's okay I think there's just have Ghost left correct?
Also how are we going to set up the matches if there will be 17 participants?

it isn't a tournament with the rankings and a championship and a semifinal and that it is a tournament where everyone fights everyone else and you get points for winning and most points wins

OKay, I have an idea. Everyone pastes their 'import/export' in a pm to the Judge.
That contains everything except the Gender, Shiny status, level and happiness. The latter two should always be maxed out, unless someone is going to use Frustration. Gender and shiny status will be obvious at sight, since generation IV.

Round Robin is really the only fair way to do this. It doesn't matter how well constructed your fire team is if water is your first match.

Trust me, I know the feeling. Like 90% of my losses with my hail stall team have gone to other weather teams. Breloom does a pretty good job of keeping Politoad in check but Tentacruel lacks the power to kill Ninetales so I have to use Froslass to Destiny Bond it.

It would probably be best for you to finalize your team before PM'ing Soft. For the sake of his convenience.

It gives you a text file that describes your team so you don't have to write it out yourself.

Alright, thanks. The only reason I ask is since my friends have really been bothering me about my team and such. I most likely am not going to change anything... ^^'

Okay... after accidentally making a fantastic, perfect water-type team, I finally made an amazing grass type team that's going to kick your asses. Maybe. I still have only one move that can... why am I telling you all this?

Hmm ghost is open? I'll gladly get in on this monotype tournament and fill your last gap, once I work out Pokemon Showdown.
