You'll have to find it first! You need to poke around a bit...
==> Is that it?
Certainly looks plot-devicey!
The screens seem to be displaying distant lands. You fiddle with the controls a bit, but they mostly seem locked.
You probably don't need to change anything, anyways, going by what Lerk said. Pink Lerk? Not Lerk? Other Lerk? You'll just stick to calling him Problemsprite for the time being.
Anyways, the design may be strange but you think you can figure out what this thing does.
A screen lights up further, locking onto a friendly-looking adult. He seems to be doing some archaelogical work.
The machine attempts to appearify him, but due to the paradoxical nature of that action, it just generates slime instead. Seems pretty simple and straightforward.
As similar process copies this nice-seeming lady, who is in the middle of cooking. Her slime is paired with the first man's.
These two get generated and paired.
As do this man and, for some reason, your mother?
The machines automatically produce several HATCHLINGS that bear remarkable resemblance to the copied adults. Hmmm.
The slimes are combined, and six more hatchlings pop into being.
