i've been having quite a lot of fun with this, but in impocalypse mode, every time i press shift (buy button) it crashes and gives this error

I hereby challenge everyone playing this game to take a screencap of john juggling three hammers while wearing a beagle puss and also there's a bathtub flying around.

I managed to do this a couple of times but didn't have time to screencap it before i got hit by an imp, or the bathtub left the screen or whatever.

I got up to the third gate before I died. I didn't get any skins, the bouncy hammer is pretty cool, but feels a bit too... 'slow' compared to the comic version, then again I haven't read all that far into the comic so whatever.

Is there a way to stop Rose from building down low if you get knocked down or whatever? It's a bit annoying how she wastes my grist.

It's pretty awesome, especially considering it's all free and such.

PEOPLE GETTING THE "ERROR READING REAL" BUG: This may be kind of a silly thing to ask, but I've got to cover all of my bases: Make sure you're not running the game inside the ZIP, extracting it to an actual folder first.

Playing multiplayer by myself on hard, what a cha- no, actually, it's easier than playing singleplayer on normal, because AI Rose clearly hates you, while I'm able to build vertical towers with the occasional uncluttered grist farming platform.

I'm going to do an update sometime soon where in multiplayer, the mouse player needs to simultaneously control a mini-screen where Rose is actually dodging a slowly-closing-in forest fire. That's the intended multiplayer I didn't have time to finish, to fully simulate the way Rose isn't able to pay full attention. >:D

Unfortunately I have no idea how long the mac version is going to take. GM4Mac is a legendary piece of shit, and I don't know how many of the things I did in Hammerkind just plain won't work anymore. I do know, though, that I'm not going to start the port until I think I'm mostly done fixing bugs in the Windows version -- this way, I won't have to fix the same bugs in two versions at once.

So you can expect it in a week at the soonest, but maybe more like a month.

Depends on the difficulty level, and what you're using. Under normal circumstances, though, about 20.

It's on the options menu, but only if you've unlocked it.

Everyone should feel free to share what it takes to unlock various things! I'm not going to give out spoilers, but collaboratively finding secrets is definitely something I'm okay with.

Ctrl-T unleashes a horde of imps onto your current area. Beating the game (on Normal?) unlocks Secret Mode (1?)

That is, in fact, one of the effects of the Blue Slimer! Well okay, it doesn't last very long, but still.

In fact, why don't I just talk a lot about the Blue Slimer right here. I know it's the most confusing powerup.

Blue Slimer has his origins on this page, or rather the discussion resulting from the .gif glitch on that page. At the time, there was a lot of joking speculation about just what the blue slimer might signify, and its implications for the future of Homestuck's plot. Naturally, the blue slimer could have given John superpowers, if only John had noticed it during that brief moment. Alas, he was distracted by his sylladex, as usual.

While under the effect of the blue slimer, many of the limits on John are extended or removed. He:

- Jumps 3 tiles high instead of 2.
- Accelerates and decelerates instantly.
- Can change movement in midair.
- Hammerslides easily, at the perfect speed.
- Swings his more quickly
- No longer loses his mercy-invulnerability when attacking
- Takes 1/3 damage
If you manage to combine the slimer with other items, it has effects on some of them, too.

So nothing immediately extremely beneficial. But if you use it right, you can clear an entire screen like this very easily and very quickly. It's more useful when there are lots of enemies on screen, and more useful as you get better at the game. It's kinda like a clear-screen-bomb.
It's the only item I buy when I play survival mode.

Save up to buy a Pogohammer, put it away then press Ctrl+T 10-20 times. Jump in the middle of the hoard and pull out the Pogohammer again. The amount of health items you gain while you have "mercy-invulnerability" should mean you wont die and you'll probably even finish it with full health. Also a full or near full grist cache.

Sirpwnington's technique works pretty well, but if you can't afford pogo hammer, a bathtub or two has a desirable effect as well, I used the bathtub version of this to save myself from dying several times.

Edit: and if you spam enough of the imps, after the first bathtub, you can just jump into the enemies and all the jelly will keep you from losing health while you collect shale, and then you can use the Pogo Hammer.

Eh, I don't think it really matters, if you just keep spamming ctrl + t you can get a large amount, and the jelly / shale from each harvest makes it pointless to 'save up' by being efficient with your hammer.
