    Any other thoughts on Lang?
The essays are very different in that, even if they ask about the same thing, they want you to use different ways of analyzing things. You won't get very far analyzing syntax on APUSH, and likewise, you'll get very few points using historical references in analyzing AP lang (you'll get more than syntax in APUSH, since it's somewhat relevant, but you'll need more than just that).
I did analyze them differently - it was just easier to analyze the passages, I felt, knowing the time period (and therefore the historical context around them), even on a first read-through. Made things go faster. Also reading too many APUSH documents made the language a lot easier to handle, I felt.

AP tests are not an American thing. They are taken worldwide and recognized in most of the largest international universities.

It would just be silly for a Canadian, or a German, or a Thai to take an AP US History class.

There is no AP in canada. My hair is a bird and your argument is invalid.

    SO AP MUSIC THEORY
yeah, I don't really need study help I guess, but I might be kinda fucked?
Considering that a 5 is a composite score of 64% or above... can't tell if this is a good thing or bad thing. The worst part of it is I am a vocal performer. This should be easy, but apparently instrumental kids learn their keys when they're like 10 or something? I never knew keys were important shit, I just listen to the accompaniment and sing the friggin' note. What is a minor keys help. TAT

Also taking AP Art History and AP Language/Comp., both of which I can probably help with even though I haven't taken the tests yet.

    a minor keys:
natural: no sharps or flats (key signature)
harmonic: raise 7th; make that subdominant (G) a leading tone (G♯)
melodic: raise 6th (F to F♯) and 7th (G to G♯) going up, natural going down

    Oh AP tests

How they have limited my wonderful time here on the forums.

Except now I am here again instead of studying. Of course.

I took a practice AP English Language/Comp. test, and it was laughably easy. I got literally every question right.

Of course, this is coming from someone who is apparently pretty pro at LA (even though it's my least favorite subject :/), so take that with a grain of salt.

    Chemistry tomorrow

Trying to preemptively pick a song to have stuck in my head. I will kill myself if I have to listen to Stupid Ho for the entirety of another standardized test.

Got AP Bio and AP Stat in 5 days and a week respectively. I tend to do not as great on FRQ for Bio as I do on the multiple choice, so I hope the multiple choice score is enough to get me a 5. As for Stat, well, I never found it necessary to study this entire year. So, of course, I barely remember half of the material. Fun!

I had AP Biology, and I felt fairly comfortable with the material and to be honest, a lot of stuff I rushed to study since class hadn't went over, was not on there. The test felt too easy and that's what's worrying me so far but in less than 3 weeks I will know my score and let's just hope for at least a 3.

Ah, AP English Literature. Just give me my results so I can roll around in the 4 that I'm hoping for (not shooting my hopes up too high, but at the same time, not shooting them too low) so I can go to college in peace and have a pizza party with my English teacher.

Reading this thread makes me nervous because I am taking AP Music Theory next year.

Our teacher told us that for our AP Exams we're going to have to sing.

    Ugh.

So wait. When do you take APs? As in, what age would you be at doing them?
As far as I know, we don't have them in the UK, or if we do, then I still don't know what they are. Wikipedia isn't helpful in this at all.

A lot of it depends on the high school you go to and what courses are offered. My APs started freshman year (also called 9th grade, ages 14-15 for most students). That’s not typical, but it’s allowed by the College Board. Whether it’s allowed by the system you’re in is another matter (e.g. when I was in high school, students from my school were allowed to take any test they wanted as long as they fronted the fee for any test that didn’t have an associated class, but anywhere else in the county it was limited to whatever handful of AP courses were offered as actual classes—incredibly unfair, by the way).

The A-level is something like AP tests, but every system works differently.

I hope this was ironic. CANADIA HAS ALL THE AP TESTS, ALL OF THEM.

I miss AP tests actually. At least then you knew exactly what to study for. University is just a free-for-all. Enjoy them while you can kids.

OH HEY YOU CANADIAN KIDS -

Take AP French if you can, and if you've done the French Immersion program. It's worth TWO 3-CREDIT HOUR COURSES (at least at UNB it was). Not bad at all for one pretty easy exam.
    Yup.

Remember, though: Not all AP credit is at all relevant! AP language credit, for me, would do nothing and would actually actively hurt me (there's a bonus/kickback in Texas for finishing with minimal credit hours [including Q-dropped classes]), so while there's no reason not to take an AP test, you may not actually take the credit; for instance, my AP physics (Physics B) is meaningless for an engineer, so I'd have six hours of physics 201 and 202 for no reason and still would have took physics 218 and 208.

Yeah AP courses are pretty useless to engineers, I ran into the same thing

I did four AP exams and got credit in university for half of one and that's it. Even though I did well. Engineering's just like that
    Yup.
