First of all, a notice: This is a bit of a different sort of RP. This RP is based centrally along with the Forum Adventure "{ It's an Adventurous Life }".
Characters in this RP are "godlings" participating in Mortal Life 101, which is running the life of Vrey Isth in the adventure.
This is where IC discussion should take place. Suggestions given here are given slightly heavier weights in the adventure, as these are what the characters taking lessons from the life showing in the adventure.
All discussion is considered "real time" whereas the CreaTOR system pauses after every update, and the godlings are aware of this.
Some basic ideas: - All godlings have a sphere of influence which I assign upon creation based on what is desired. This may not be exactly what is wanted but I will try my best.
- Godlings are not fully fledged gods and are therefore not omniscient or omnipotent yet.
- Godlings are not supposed to interfere directly with the CreaTOR system ("divine intervention") and if caught will have grave consequences. OOCly, divine intervention must be a more or less unnanimous vote to take place.
- Godlings must obey the teacher god at all times.
- Godlings may not use their powers on each other to cause harm or otherwise sway another godling's opinion.
The preferred format of this is that you speak to each other as the godlings would speak to one another, so a light/casual RP setting (ie, "Yeah, so what if that's what you think? I think this. *huffs*" or something similar). This is because the suggestions in this thread are still being taken for the main thread even though this is a roleplay setting, and I need to be able to read responses quickly. Please also use your assigned color when speaking, and post your godling name at the beginning of your post in bold.
An example post would therefore look something like this:

Timothy "Tiny" -- Played by The One Guy :: Influence : Weather / Powers : Conduit, capable of surviving electicity flow; generator, capable of creating small shocks and thunderbolts :: Color : #1451ac
Zeur -- Played by Zombiitwo :: Influence : Inorganic / Powers : Clockwork manipulation, capable of slowing or speeding clockwork timing; Merging, capable of fusing small items up to three inches by three inches to self :: Color : #a5a5a5
Robotic godling, has minor powers over mechanical objects, likes clockwork. Is a bluish-purple colour.
Brusarian "Sarian" -- Played by wlzrobert :: Influence : Mortality / Powers : Gravitational distress, may ignore gravitational fields for self only; Blending, may appear amicable and "normal" to mortals as desired :: Color : #000000
A human with basic clothing. a green shirt, jeans, and brown shoes. Also a little shy and doesn't like colors. Also hovers in the air. He has curly hair.
Sheoldred -- played by master death :: Influence : Shade / Powers : Blending, minor with all sentients; emotive manipulation - minor calming presence :: Color #ee2222
a grim reaper type figure, constantly hooded, somewhat creepy in that his face isn't seen, but a perfect person to confide in, and a helper. emulates those that inhabit his domain preferring to be alone in most cases.
Ushagi -- played by Aelyrin :: Influence : Water / Powers : Shape control, minor - able to shift liquid body; Purification, minor - can purify water that is touchable :: Color #44aaeb
Ria -- played by greyscaleScavenger :: Influence : Breeze / Powers : Floating, minor - self and objects smaller than self; Emotive vision, capable of seeing when others have the same emotive state as self (if she's happy she knows who else is) :: Color #cccc44
Ria is a small, sprite-like godling that measures a mere 7" tall, and at full maturity will reach up to a foot and a half. With roughly the proportions of a fully grown human, though miniaturized and somewhat thinner, with long pointed ears protruding backward from her head. Ria technically is "genderless" in both anatomy and appearance, though more commonly associates with the female and is as such referenced with feminine pronouns, as her homeworld did not have a third gender in the way Vrey's does. Her irises fill a full 3/4 of her eyes, rather than the 1/3 human irises do, and her eyes range between green and purple, depending on her particular mood at the moment. ((Hint: if her eyes are bright purple, it MAY be advisable to...flee. As quickly as might be comfortable.)) Her hair is as long as she is tall, and rather "floofy," curling about in large puffs and easily catching on the breeze. Her hair is a slightly purple silver in color, though when wet seems rather opalescent. Her wings, her primary form of locomotion, seem to be made of what appears similar to thin sheets of metal, but could more accurately be described as a somehow stationary and controlled amount of thinly spread mercury, and are shaped in an almost Dragonfly-like manner protruding from her back. She has an additional "sheet" serving as gliders, connecting from her wrist to her hip and easily folding, much like a Flying Squirrel. She has a small, wind chime like object attached with a ribbon around her ankle, and its high-pitched chimes often serve as a note that she is, in fact, there and you should avoid sitting on her, thankyouverymuch.
Sevet -- played by Apathy :: Influence : Poison / Powers : Teleportation, minor - capable of teleporting self up to ten feet; poison induction, minor - capable of inducing mild poison / sickness on one target at a time, creates headaches and nausea :: Color : #aaaaaa
Just a small, unlit candle (yellow/gold wax, black/grey wick, I guess?) in a bubble of mercury. Nothing special. Size can be anything, I imagine it as about a 9-12 inch radius.
Zoonder "Zoon" -- played by kd7sov :: Influence : Tectonics / Powers : Rock shifting, minor - capable of shaking or moving rocks up to as large as own body; crumble, minor - capable of causing rocks / stones small enough to be picked up to crumble into dust. :: Color : #4d2206
a bit like a really scrawny marble statue. Scalp is covered by mist rather than hair.
Arpos'trot'ee & Qu-T'Switenzaur -- played by Iyestorm :: Influence : Community / Powers : Overpowering voice - capable of using the voices of all their microspirits to create a very loud, commanding voice; hivemind creativity - having so many microspirits on him gives Arpos (and/or the current ruler) the ability to come up with sometimes quirky but very creative ideas. :: Color : #0000ff
Basically Arpos + Qu-T have a symbiote thing going on so they're "one person." - nV
Appearance:
Arpos'trot'hee is a whalephant airship-city whose tail becomes a giant centipede. Tentacles on underside. He is full of holes and dwellings which house numerous spirits and microgods which can be seen going about daily business on his body. Lots of them look like worms or bugs, but they can look like anything since anything can "live" there. Occasionally, the whalephant may sprout a humanoid body and act as a head, making the centipede look like a ponytail. Normally, he also sports random eyes and more random body parts, because Cthulu-chic is in nowadays. Really, that's the only reason. Being a godling, he can't really call himself an elder god, can he? He can emulate, but that's about it.
I was thinking of giving him a pompadour but decided not to. I might change my mind in the future.
Qu-T'Switenzaur is a Generic Fuzzy Cutesey Thing. I dunno, some bipedal-and-a-half Chinchilla-Cat-Rabbit-batty-mouse-squirrel thing. Like I said, generic. I guess give her four sets of ears on her head and a long tail with a fluffle at the end or something. Hmm... not detailed enough, huh? Okay, cat and mouse on the head, rabbity ears on shoulders where wings would be for a faerie. Actual wings under her arms, and another pair coming from her hips because buttwings are funny. She could probably sprout more wings and ears and tails from anywhere. Heck with it, give her two more tails coming from her head, like antennae, because why not. Gotta be honest, I'm not taking this too seriously, here. In fact, give her a tail on her tail so she can wag while she wags. I don't even care what kind, she probably changes them like clothes or hair. Put wings on that tail too, because fuck reasons.
Arpos'trot'hee is a sort of genuis-loci. He is sometimes known as The airship-city of microgods and spirits, though he himself is a godling. This is the result of the founding spirits pooling their powers together in order to rise in power, in an attempt to become a god. More have joined since then, some eager to join the community and get a piece of the pie, others born of the existing spirits, and still others being born directly from Arpos'trot'hee himself. However, infighting is rampant, and power is not equal. Rather than splitting it across individuals, Arpos'trot'hee split his brain into three: His inner brain--the fusion of the founding spirits, which is his true self; his outer brain--which consists of all the newer spirits that reside on his person, and the ruler of the city, who is currently his daughter, Qu-T'Switenzaur.
The rule of rulership is that might makes right. Whoever is the strongest is the ruler, and gets to use Arpos'trot''hee's power as their own. As such Arpos'trot'hee often breaks out into fights like a human can break out into hives. However, in order to keep the cycle from becoming stagnant due to the strong becoming stronger, there is a rotation every two centuries. After this period of time, a ruler cannot rule anymore. However, as compensation, incentive, or reward, said ruler gets to become a proper god in their own right. This is the true goal of Qu-T'Switenzaur, and it's no secret. She is well into year 199, less than half a year away from independence, and her strength is practically already that of a god(ling), though most of that is because of her drawing strength from Arpos'trot'hee himself, though he doesn't seem to mind--in fact, he seems excited to have a real daughter that's not actually part of him. The strength of the microgods and spirits being what they are, the only way she could lose her position now would be if Arpos'trot'hee himself rose up against her--at least, barring outside interference. As such, she has seen fit to be a student herself. Her student form is too large to live on Arpos'trot'hee, but she can still ride him like a vehicle (which is part of her job.)
Vesper Griddle-o-matic -- played by goggleman64 :: Influence : Simplicity / Powers : Crystal vision - able to see things in simple, base terms, seeing through flowery language and persuasion techniques; Invisible assault - simply hurts things when attacking, you don't need to know how :: Color : #aa0000
Zephon-- played by StarZeph :: Influence : Luck / Powers : Minor luck - able to influence minor events in his favor, such as a coin toss or a single die roll; Shuffling - able to direct luck away from others and be shuffled onto others within local area, but unable to target self :: Color : #bbbbbb
A fairly short human, with green hair and bright silver eyes. Constantly has silver cards floating around him in semi-random patterns, except for five constantly floating in a circle parallel to the ground.
Please note the colors were assigned randomly, if you don't like them, please ask me to change them.
Participating is now the only way to be considered for drawn interludes and godling art! I added all godlings that had been PM'd to me in the past, but if you'd like to be taken off just tell me.

Alright, godlings. You may be on break for the moment but don't forget that you still need to be thinking about this assignment. You've just influenced a very important decision in a mortal's life, you know.
Re: { It's an Adventurous Life } :: Mortal Life 101
The Laughing Man
Zeur is correct. *nods* Mortals may be confusing at first, particularly with the differences in social behaviour ... however, over time you'll become accustomed to the mortals that you are working with and understand their speech and body language, including indicators such as "laughing" and "smiling" or "crying" and "frowning." I know it's not as convenient as directly communicating your feelings, but, that is unfortunately how mortals work.
In practice of course, if you have some sort of emotional divination you'll be able to just sense it, but I'm fairly certain your influence sphere doesn't typically develop those until late-stage godhood, Jim.

Of course I could, and I do let the CreaTOR system explain to a degree, but what would be the point of the class if I told you everything and you weren't tested at all, hmm?

Prime Conditioner
Tiny, I swear, we just did the chapter on basic mortal emotions. You're never going to learn anything if you just breeze through it like that.
I mean it's not really all that hard when you know what to look for. Like see when their faces get all wet like that? That usually means they're somewhat sad... or injured... or allergenic, or extremely relieved, or moved or... Well, you get what I mean.
Re: { It's an Adventurous Life } :: Mortal Life 101
The Laughing Man
Unfortunately, directly influencing is strictly prohibited without good reason - for example, early termination of the universe CreaTOR has created would be consider grounds for intervention. Other than that, class protocol is that you help your mortals by understanding their world, and in turn learning how best to influence their decisions indirectly.
And Timothy, if you'd like an after-class refresher on mortal emotional states, I'm sure we can arrange something. Possibly a class get together? Extra credit, of course.

I find it interesting that you've already become attached to your mortal. Would anyone like to elaborate on what makes these creatures fascinating to them personally?
