On the subject of buying Ben Nye, has anyone used giftsatpages? I placed my order over a week ago, heard nothing, emailed them yesterday, and got a one-liner back saying "it will be shipped tomorrow." Still no shipping notification. Should I be worried, because I am.

transplantedGeek, pool noodles are literally my FAVORITE things to use with props. They're so versatile while able to be bent and shaped. :3c

Also, complexTalent, I ordered mine from there back in June. I did exactly the same thing you did (including the email) and they shipped it out exactly a week after I ordered; it was to me a week later. So it SHOULD be to you asap. If you're going to Otakon, it should be in right before then :3

Ahh thank you Lexa, you're a treasure trove of advice and consolation. XD I wish I was going to Otakon, haha... but I am boarding a plane for Florida two weeks from today, for AFO. Want to get that makeup soon and do a skin test just to make sure I won't be allergic.

fwoopadoaks/Lexa: I've already started making them haha. I just use floral foam and papermache so it weighs almost nothing and are also super cheap B)

I had two brillinant MSPA Cosplay-related epiphanies while sitting in class today.

1. For Eridan's pants, you could buy black and white fabric and dye it with blue fabric dye!
2. For Nepeta's tail, you could use two or three strands (and perhaps a sport or worsted-weight yarn as well in a closely matching color) of this fun-fur shit in "Sapphire", "Light Blue", or "Aquamarine", and knit a tail. Either finding or making a pattern couldn't be difficult at all.

I am going to try making a trickster john cosplay for the next con I go to (don't know when that is, probably go to one in winter?) and was wondering if anyone had any generic tips for cosplaying and making cosplays. Especially since the only cosplay I have ever done before is a REALLY crappy Urahara and a REALLY crappy L.

Hehe yes, we were talking about it in the convention thread awhile ago. I'm going as Mindfang and my friend will be Redglare, crashin' (not really) your panel with cupcakes. Uh, I hope anyway -- I think we're driving to Orlando Friday (from 2 hours away) but we wanted to be in full costume all day Saturday... so if we decide to put on costumes for your panel, we won't be in makeup. Maybe just troll shirts. Dunno yet, fff

You know what I need to wear Friday? A birthday party hat like a huge dork. I should whip up a Nepeta shirt??

Totally relieved today as I got a UPS tracking number for my Ben Nye. I'm going to start horns later, will post progress photos soon and be relevant again.

I return to the cosplay thread again, with more photos of insanely huge prop weapons! This time, Vriska's ancestor sword, for asuraChaos here on the forums:

It looks bigger than it really is in that photo cuz I'm holding it towards the camera, here's a better size comparison! The edge of the blade also has glowy paint, which you can't really see in that first photo.

I haven't posted anything here in awhile because I had been busy making a prop Wheatley from Portal, but now I'm back to making homestuck stuff. I've still got to finish Jade's rifle and Karkat's sickles (plus his horns and shirt) by Otakon. Now back to work for me!

Hi! (God I've not been on the forum in forever) I am planning to cosplay Kanaya from D-Con next year and possibly the MCM expo in October. I am kind of struggling to find a wig, can anyone who's cosplayed Kanaya or just knows where to get a good wig for her suggest a wig or a place to get one? Thanks!
