Now THAT was a good episode.
I feel like Adventure Time gets into a rut sometimes, but that was definitely something I have never seen it do, tonally speaking.

"It should be understood that competition in chess problems is not really between White and Black but between the composer and the hypothetical solver (just as in a first-rate work of fiction the real clash is not between the characters but between the author and the world), so that a great part of a problem's value is due to the number of 'tries' -- delusive opening moves, false scents, specious lines of play, astutely and lovingly prepared to lead the would-be solver astray." -Vladimir Nabokov (Speak, Memory)

When AT ends my greatest hope is that Ice King gets to take off the crown, say bye to marceline, and die.
oh shit, tears.
Also Enchiridion cool but im stewing on the emotional stuff right now sorry.
Yeah I'm just rolling in emotion too
but someone's gotta track the facts through the tears

okay so he gave her Hambo from that episode with that bastard ash.

so sad.
sorry to spam thread but...
i don't even know why it's hitting me so deeply it just does.
They need to make an episode that shows what happens after they crush Ash...
I'd love an episode about them coming to grips with the fact that they just killed a man, and then they have to bury him and they feel like someone is going to find out.
That would be sweet. I'd say it'd never happen, but they can get away with anything at this point.
(Now that I say that, Marcy is gonna have a trucker cap that says, "Muff Diver" isn't she?)

Was it ever directly stated that Marceline was descended from Abadeer's, uh, loins?
Maybe she's adopted (more issues!).
I am somewhat confused as to the timeline of this actually.
(Also I am okay and rational now.)
From his hair the scene we saw was between the penultimate and last scenes on his apologies to the future.
Was that the first time they met? The last? The wiki says last but I tend not to trust them for things explicitly stated.
i guess it isn't that important overall, but what exactly was Simon doing traveling around and then returning to his house for the video messages.
If I had to guess i'd say looking for the book but...
yeah.
Well the writers seem to have stated she had a mother. I sort of figure she was born a vampire but I guess it's not impossible she was turned really young.
Saw someone think she was Simon's kid though, which I doubt. Mostly because it wasn't mentioned in the video, and the way he found her seemed to me like they met for the first time?
And the tone of Simon's song.
kaotic: Watching Holly Jolly Secrets again, Simon was still pretty 'sane' at the end of his video; he was just depressed. And depression leads to a disheveled appearance (you don't really care about your appearance when you're alone and lonely at the end of the world). After the snow stopped falling and melted away, I guess he thought he perked up a bit; fixed himself up a little and started traveling around the world, maybe hoping to find a cure to his curse?
Also, now I understand why Marceline seemed to be frowning at the Ice King in Holly Jolly Secrets.
Also, also, anyone else thought Jake sounded a bit like Duke Nukem when he was reprimanding Ice King for his "constant harassment of the female gender"?
Also, also, also just realized that Ice King didn't recognize himself as Simon in that newspaper clipping, unlike in that video in Holly Jolly Secrets.

Oh. I always sort of assumed the fangs, color of her skin, and the pointy ears were a vampire thing but...
maybe she is a vampire who was once whatever the fuck her father was?
I don't know.
edit: also this.
it was made before the episode came out, but still.
edit2: I was trying to get Remember You to loop but I accidentally typed in this: http://www.youtuberemember.com/watch?v=Mx_QQNesgr8

Feeling a bit paranoid are we?
Ha.
Anyway next season Fionna and Cake are back=awesome.
The Vampire King will be voiced by Donald Glover=awesome.
caveat on the awesome, originally they wanted Dante Basco to do the voice. And it fits so I am kinda sad. But I like Donald so I am also happy? And he also fits in my head, so yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I know.
I thought the bite marks were part of the whole vampire ensemble, not that she had the ensemble first and was then vamped.
Also I got to thinking that Marceline knows she could probably try and get rid of the crown and Simon would come back. I would think it would at least occur to her.
I figure she can't do it cause that means he would die, possibly instantly but eventually definitely.
Or she tried and she can't. Don't know.
Not talking about taking it off. I mean destroy it, or unenchant it or something.
It's obviously really fucking powerful but if he can use spells without it then it implies that something can separate it from him even more completely than just physical distance.

Also I have this stupid idea that Simon and Marceline used to write songs together before he went full on crazy.
Which might explain why his notes had lyrics scribbled on them instead of just normal writing?
Yeah.
actually, he can't use spells when the crown isn't on his head.
Anyways, anybody wanna place any bets that the Enchiridion was what lead Simon to the crown, and many of his other mysterious objects in his hord? Also, any guesses on how the book gets out of his possession and into the dungeon? Billy, maybe, or something else?
The crown seems to have a mind of its own, but Jake has worn it (back in Thank You) and it did nothing to him (wiki notes Adam Muto said that was because Jake is already magical, and Cake using it in the Fionna and Cake was because the Ice King didn't know any better).
