RL Quirks

I have now identified at least two more IRL quirks.

1) My usage of noncommittal language (such as 'I guess', 'maybe', 'I think' and 'possibly') when discussing world issues or giving advice.

2) My tendency to streak my pronunciation of certain sounds like thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis as a result of making myself talk to people more while still being too nervous to do it.

My major in college was linguistics so occasionally I will use linguistic terminology in everyday conversation full-on knowing that the person I'm speaking to has no idea what the hell I just said. Also the blank looks I get from co-workers when I mention voiced alveolar fricatives or something along those lines are kind of amusing to me =]

Personally, I think the best reason to proceed in a given manner is exactly because you cannot divine any specific reason.

Seriously.
Symmetry is freaking awesome, and must be used as much as possible without averting from my normal actions.
Whenever there's a song in my head, I tap my foot on the floor, ALL THE TIME.
Chairs, when nobody's sitting on them, have to be placed as close to/under the table as possible. They should no be away from it by an inch, or I'll haul ass over there and correct that nonsense.
Posters, paintings, etc, need to be perfectly outlined in every way.
I can't close tabs in my browser. Hence why I've got about 17 going on AT MINIMUM.
..and I could go on like that for a while but I really shouldn't.

On forums, I'm not sure that I have any. In IM's, however, I tend to type exactly like I would talk in real life. Saying things like "dunno" rather than "I don't know" or completely omitting the "G" in anything that ends in "ing" like "yeah, that's what I'm sayin'" and such.

Also, a lot of times (because I'm a hip-hop artist) I tend to favor words that work well together in patterns. Like a word that ends in a vowel sound leading into a word that starts with a consonant sound, so on and so forth.

Edit: Also compulsively editing my posts whenever I see a mistake not caught by spell check.

I normally typed properly, lol. Although if I use a question mark or an exclamation point it's followed by a ~. So it'll be like, "How are you~?" "NO WAY~!" Then I make a lot of my faces with the ~ as a mouth. So it'll be v~v''' Or >~> Or ^~^ and even @~@. Along with many more, lol. >~< I didn't notice it until a friend of mine pointed it out one day. I sometimes even use it just randomly if I think it fits in, like instead of using - for combined words or to continue a word that'll break off I'll use ~. Like Ice~Cream instead of Ice-Cream or w/e. Lol. Mainly the lil squilly is my thing. x~x''' Feel like I'm ranting now so I'll stop. Lol. xD

I had a period a few months long when I was sixteen where I ended every sentence with the 8| face.

I curse without any restraint. However the moment I feel someone is uncomfortable I ask them and if they are I stop immediately. To me curse words mean very little, and I have sorta trained myself to be able to "turn them off" for the sake of those around me. On=cursing like a sailor, Off=Clean as can be.

I have a friend who yawns with a sorta nya sound.

I am grateful you do not do that all the time here. Reading lines that are broken at short / erratic intervals makes me want to stab somebody. It feels almost like a punch in the gut to have a line end in the middle of a sentence unless it's at the right margin. Maybe I'm crazy, but I like seeing walls of text much more than I like seeing ladders of text.

It's a given that I'm crazy, so there's no maybe about that.

I've always used lots of smileys, but I only recently noticed that I usually end up typing in three's, especially with the vowels.

I tend to capitalize words when I stop typing for a sec.
Like, I capitalize it when I start back up.
It drives some people crazy, and they start trying to make hidden messages of it.

Hahaha, that is actually kind of fun. I can understand that happening.

The only letter I will refuse to leave uncapitalized for any reason is a singular "I". It just looks so wrong hanging by itself.
